12.2 Bent/inclined - update** replaced and noticeable difference at the back - Galaxy Tab Pro 12.2, 10.1, 8.4 General

check yours! i put mine it flat surface and its rocking on each side. im wondering this caused by glass separating from the plastic or not enough glue... this is a 2day old tablet
just an update, as i opened the new one i felt instantly the difference between the old one. the back feels the same as the black one now. as i have a note tab pro before and i am a note 3 user (black)

Run at BB and got a new one

How well did your phone survive over the years?

I think the best way to check the phone's build quality, is to see how it looks like after more than two years of usage.
So, in what condition is your Vibrant right now? Have you ever replaced broken parts?
Mine : Purchased March 2011
The screen is very scratched, camera lens is cracked (I removed it and now I use it without the plastic lens), the SD card reader is partly broken, the card doesn't stay in. The silver paint around the screen went off almost completely, and now it's just grey plastic.
And I have replaced 2 parts - the back speaker, and the front speaker which also includes the sensors and headphones jack on the same cable.
So overall it didn't fare very well. It did fall many times, but I always had a case on. The scratches are because I never put a screen protector, I just don't like them.
So I ordered a N4. But I still like my Vibrant, will keep it as a music player and a backup phone.
Mines in pretty good condition. Cracked screen but everything else is finw

Very solid. Bezel has a few small chips in it but they're hardly noticeable. No issues with broken parts or a broken screen, even without a screen protector.
Only complaint is still being EU'd.
Mine is great accept for a small chip in the bezel. I a lease have a case on it

Dude you better get an otter box for that n4. Sounds like your vibrant got beet up and that n4 will shatter if you drop it from about as hogs as your pocket

Bought this phone as soon as it came out (late 2010 I believe). The paint on the bezel is chipped slightly but other than that its in perfect condition. I have had a screen protector on it since I bought it so no scratches at all on the screen. Dropped this phone hundreds of times and never once cracked the screen or anything for that matter (knock on wood).
Ps: Never caught the EU bug either (knocks on wood again).

I'll jump in...this phone is a beast!!! I had it since new Aug of 2010 for 2 years and after that it went to my 2 year old (now 3) as an mp3 player for lullabyes and wiggles music. Now a year later, against my better judgement mind you, she has to have her phone. Screen is still perfect as is everything else except the bezel. I purchased 2 extra batteries that came with a charger for ten bucks and this phone hasn't been plugged in for two+ years. The Vibrant is and always will be the best phone ever. Granted I needed a bigger screen but even my S2 can't compare. Samsung and T-Mobile wrote this phone off just months after release (Vibrant 4G which wasn't as good) giving us just one real upgrade because of a petition and yet here we are 3 years later with the latest software that only a couple of brand new phones officially have....Viva le Vibrant, oh and never a screen protector or case. Oh and if it had a flash counter it would be broken as I flashed several time a day for months on end testing different stuf...Viva le Vibrant and Viva le Irish Car bombs and Guiness while we're at it FTW

Anybody else using this fully naked?

This is the first phone I've done it with. No screen protector and no case. Mainly doing it because I have jump and will likely get something new in 6 months.

I went with a screen protector but will likely not put a case on. I also am using the Verizon edge program so I just need to make sure I don't crack the screen or break the phone.

At home I do, but anytime I leave I throw the case on. I keep my phones new so I can sell and get the next best thing in a few months.

Using a case but no screen protector. Previously with my GNex I only used a case at the gym, and my OGD was always naked. Tuna phone was a beast.

I am using the Verizon screen protector, but other than that, no case. I hate cases and haven't found one I like for any of my phones (iPhone 3Gs, Iphone 4s, Lumia 920, LG G2). The only case I've ever considered was a wood back replacement for the iphone 4s' glass back, but I couldn't bring myself to spend $80 for it.
I just have a screen protector on it. Been browsing the accessory page trying to find a case I really like but haven't been able to choose one yet. I'm on the Next plan (ATT) so I have 12 mos before I can turn it in if I want.
I was.. But I switched to a poetic palette case because it was a little too slippery for me. Though I'm not a clumsy person and rarely drop phones, I had to get a grip on it. I may go for a glass screen protector since i plan to keep this for a while.

That's my concern ours the slip it has to it. Was thinking about a zagg type back skin.
LG G2
Someone a couple weeks ago used a fine still wool to buff off the slippery texture, though I didn't feel it myself so I couldnt vouch for it. It also changed the look of it to more of a brushed metal look. I may be in the minority but I like the pattern on my At&t version more than that.
LG G2
I'm using it naked and plan to have it in fantastic condition in 18 months. Did the same with LG Dare and Galaxy Nexus, though they have small scratches on 1 or 2 corners.
I just rarely drop things. I keep care for my important belongings.
Always nude never ran protection on any phone, ya just gotta be really careful
Vzw screen protector & the ugly folio case. I paid retail for my G2 wasn't gonna take a chance. So, I'm looking for a case with a small footprint. G2 is too cool to have a bulky case.
Always naked....always...DroidX...GNex...G2. I love the people that brag about how thin their iPhone is and they have this monstrosity of a case that makes it 4 times as thick.
I only use it fully naked in the house. Otherwise I have to put some pants on.

No screen protector here, but already 2 tiny tiny scratches on the screen (and I do take good care of it !!!).
So I'm planning to get a screen protector asap...

Note 3 Screen is basically indestructible from Phonearena

Check out these drop test done from PhoneArena...Post is old.. But new to if you haven't seen this yet.
What baffles me about this new glass as it seems to scratch very easily though in my opinion, already have some little scuff up marks from being in my pocket.

Nice
It's a good thing, too. Mine took a nasty spill and I just got some nicks on the front bezel. :good:
Though the iPhone 5S is not that bad still it'snote 3 we trust! Strong, beautiful, durable, functional, feature-packed, fun, more than a companion, affordable and above all, the hope to smart phone evolution especially the note series.

You know what..your exactly right.....So strange you say that..I Actually have a small section on my screen where it looks like a scuff mark..I took a magnifying glass and looked more closely and it looks like the coating is gone?? Wth lol...Called at&t and getting a replacement and ordered a tempered glass .3 thick one iff ebay..ordered 2 incase I mess it up..they were 15 a piece putting them my replacement phone soon as it arrives..
I'm glad that the phone is holding up pretty well in tests, but I'm still definitely not taking the risk of not having a case on it. My note 2 dropped from below pocket height onto asphalt for me, not even face first, and spiderwebbed completely, even taking away lots of touch sensitivity. Not risking that again!
Reminds me of the old yellow and black Nextel we used to dent the walls with to show how tough it was, One of the techs actually heaved it through 2 thickness of 5/8" sheet rock. The battery cover popped off and the battery fell out. But as John Cameron Swayze used to say, it kept on ticking.
Dropped mine one foot. Hairline crack. I am now a gorilla glass non-believer.

They could say the freakin screen is made of highly reflective aircraft aluminum. Don't make a difference to me! I'm still putting a case and screen protector on it! I'm using the moshi visor xt. It was what the att store had the morning it came out. It's a nice screen protector but it itself scratches and scuffs. However when the screen is on you can't see any of them. I love my big HD display! Until the time comes that the screens are indestructible I will be protecting mine!

I agree....Like I said above for some reason these screens scuff so easy it's almost like a coating comes off (happened to me) I ended up sending it back for another one and soon as it came I instantly threw on a Tempered Glass off ebay for 16 bucks....and put it on in a steamed room like they say...And sure enough its dust free..and the glass protector feels so smooth and no loss in touch responsiness even with spen, Good idea to grab a Tempered Glass protector...helps alot
I've broken both the Note 2 and Note 3! Guess I'm just unlucky.

[Q] Will the White Note 4 discolor?

Just wondering if the white Note 4's back cover will start to turn yellow with time. Though the 4's not out yet, maybe someone with a Note 3 has the answer since same back material.
from what I heard the reason the white back feels harder on the s5 is because they use a different material so that it doesn't discolor.. and i think they're using that same stuff on the note 4 because i remember hands on videos saying the back feels different on white than black.
Sent from my VS980 4G using Tapatalk
The front shouldn't discolor and you can always swap out the back. On my note I like the look of a white phone in a black flip cover.
Sent from my SPH-L900 using XDA Free mobile app
Just look at the mobile-review.ru Note 4 comparison to Note 3. White N3 after a year looks so dirty... (what they did with it?) Is that normal for white N3? Will Note 4 suffer the same?
http://mobile-review.com/review/image/samsung/galaxy-note4/pic/07.jpg
The white pleather will discolor over time if a case isn't used. But you can pay $10 for a new cover. The front glass obviously won't discolor so it's not really an issue unless you think replacing the back cover is too much for you to handle.
Well, the white back of even my lowly ace didnt discolor.. FYI i kept it in the box, unused, for like 2 years. then used it on a daily basis for around 6 months.
Still as good as new.
I guess it just depends on how its used. Dont think there should be an issue with note 4.
Im opting for black tho
my white Note 3 is the same as the day I bought it 10 months ago, clean and as white on the cover as the plastic camera piece and if it did get yellow, I can't tell.
I use bumper case, so it doesn't touch table when laying down, but the whole back is fully exposed except the edges. Of course all bets are off, if you expose it to chemicals. For example I noticed all my plastic sunglasses break into pieces by itself just few weeks after I use sunscreen lotion and I don't think it is coincidence.

Note 7 survives 1000ft drop!!!

good to know I have a phone capable of this!!!

Impressive, I would've expected more damage and it to be non functioning, of course I would've thought that of any phone. I wonder if the iphone 7 would survive even a lil.
don't get to excited,my first note 7 fell out of my pocket while getting out of a car, between 1 foot to 6 inches off the ground, cracked the front screen from the edge out to the center of the screen and killed the phone. It had an edge to edge screen protector and case with the thick bumper edges. Good thing the recall happened when it did. 2 days later my brother dropped his on the driveway and completely shattered the back of the phone.
Not knocking my note 7,but this is the first device I ever owned that is this fragile,I don't even think wrapping my phone in bubble wrap will keep it safe.

My note 7 fell out of my hands about 8 inches from the ground while at the pool one day right after the recall was announced. I picked it up and entire front screen was cracked. I haven't gone back to the Note 7 because of how fragile it is! Sticking with my S7edge, seems much stronger!
i did a drop test and posted it on youtube, 50 + drops to the note 7 still working little roughed up however it works, iPhone 6s 5 drops it stopped working....
I would assume the IPhone can survive a 1k ft drop because of the aluminum case!

A: the s7/edge casing built pretty much the same
B: I used s7 edge as a loaner before I got my note replacement, besides being about the same physically, the features suck in comparison. Couldnt get rid of the s7 fast enough...
