[Q] Issues : USB, NTFS, Max File Size - Nvidia Tegra Note 7

Yesterday I bought a new 32gb sandisk microsd card and I was surprised with following issues
1) Can not mount as "USB Mass Storage Device", only MTP or camera mode is shown.
2) I tried copying a 6.6GB ".mkv" movie via "USB MTP mode" BUT it failed (tried 2 times). I think it is failing because TN7 formats sd card to FAT32. Then formatted to NTFS via card reader. But now I can not transfer ANY file to sd card, can not create even a new folder!!!!
Does anybody know a way to enable mass storage mode without rooting? ( I tried "Elixir widget", but it shows "Toggle USB Mass Storage feature not available")
...
...
(Now it has become almost impossible to watch movies on the tablet, except via wifi with a http server/DLNA/UPnP running on pc)

can't access SD card from mass storage!

Hey guys,
i connect my SGS to mass storage (i'm running JP3 btw) and i can see the internal SD and external 16GB SD i have on my laptop, but when i try to copy something over it says 'error cannot read/write because card is protected'
how can i R/W and turn that off?
thanks!
same for me, sine jp2 and jp3 I cannot write to my external sd card :-(
you have to go to the notification bar and click on the USB connection and a message will pop up asking you to "mount", just click on mount.
Install this widget called 'USB Switcher'
put it on your homescreen and connect a USB cable
Touch the widget and now your phone storage is mounted on your computer
If still can't detect the external storage.
try this:
1.power off
2.take out your sd card
3.reformat your sd card via card reader
4.put in your sd card again
5.start the phone
6.connect USB cable
7.Use the widget above
external sd seems to be a bug for half of us, so strange, all was fine until jp2 and jp3, and the above did not work, usb switch getting FC all the time and should not have to do this should just work as before by mounting it, but ever since jp2 I get the android pic and it mounts ok but will not let me copy/place new files into external, no permission/protection is on......guess have to try jp4
Hmmm yeah no need to go to the notification bar in JP3 cause the android screen pops up asking if you want to turn on usb storage. It must be a problem with JP3 :-(
Sent from my GT-I9000 using XDA App
Using firmware XJG4 version, I managed to access SD card (16 G internal & 8G external from mass storage using 'USB Switcher'
My steps are:
1. Run 'USB Switcher' to unmount SD storage
2. Connect with USB to PC
3. Select mass storage option when prompt
3. Go to PC, 2 drive appears and are accessible.
To confirm the SD cards are unmounted from step 1, run file manager and the SD file directory is empty.

SD cards not recognized on my new HD2

Hi everyone
Bought my HD2 a couople of weeks ago. Since I recieved I have not been able to mount my sd cards. I have 2 8gb adata ones both class 6 and one 8gb bought from **** smith electronics (a class 4).
I have tried formatting with SDformatter from the sd association and with EASEUS partition master. Both don't seem to have any effect on my hd2 mounting the cards.
The funny thing is though when I use magdlr and use the usb mass storage function with the sd card in, on my pc it recognizes the mass storage and I can copy files to the sd card and then put the sd card in a card reader and the files are there.
I have tried mounting the sd card in a couple of nand android builds and the official windows 6.5 rom for LEO but to no avail. Phone still does not recognize sd card.
Any help or ideas on what I can do? Really want to have wp7 with 720p video recording
I'm sure you know this but on the cm7 builds I use when you connect USB you have to jump to pull down notification screen, tap USB connected and then tap "turn on USB storage " before it shows up to your PC.
have you installed automount from the market?
Yes I did try automount but that didn't work. I am just hoping that it is not a hardware fault. But the usb mass storage feature in magdlr worked for copying files to the sd card

Click to collapse
be alittle carefull with the magldr mount, it doesnt handle larger files well apparently. cwm has a mount option that works well.
I am having this kind of problem too and bought a card from austrailia. problem is my HD 2 reads my 2 gb card but when i pop a 16 gb , it freezes. On my pc however it reads the card and i can store data
Formatted the thing and no effect. would love some advice as well. It is a class 2

How to access pictures from SD card on PC

I need to copy the pictures from my storage card to my PC, but I am not able to view the contents when my Samsung Galaxy S2 is connected to the PC. the pictures which are in my internal storage card can be viewed, but those in the storage card cannot be.. What settings need to be changed?!
None if you can see the phone via USB mass storage mode you should also see the external sd card as a separate drive .
Try a card reader .

Did you access the pics from phone memory through Mass-Storage-Device or via something like kies (e.g. "Samsung Phone" instead of a real Mass-Storage with a drive-letter)? Try checking the "Developer Mode" in Settings, which lets you connect manually if plugged in and not automatically with MTP.

Enable USB mass storage on lollipop 5.0.1 (ROM i9500XXUHOF3_I9500ODDHOF1_INU)

Hi,
I need to copy a folder 2gb + from my external SD card ( a 64 gb UMS 1 Samsung SD card) to my PC. With a standard USB connection on MTP/Media storage , I just keep getting :
Calculation time remaining to copy prompt on my PC and the folder never copies.
So I was hoping to enable Mass storage mode. I tried SG USB mass storage enabler, but it gives an error:
"An error occured while identifying the SD card. The card is either not ready or there is no SD card inserted. If there is one inserted, please exit the application and try again, if it still doesnt work, please contact the developer via email."
Can someone please help?
PS:- Mine is i9500
I don't think there is any way other than going custom rom or getting a usb memory stick with an sdcard slot.
