Why I am saying about that! go here :
http://teamw.in/project/twrp2/115
There is 4 methods to flash TWRP 2.7 -(as mentioned on official TWRP website)
1) Via GooManager app & they stated it as preferred.
2) via adb.
3) via flashing Zip on existing recovery.
4) via Odin.
So still waiting for answer which someone tried this method with success.

[Q] soft brick help

im kinda new to the whole rooting/rom thing, i rooted my s4 successfully, but when i went to install the rom i thought it was on my usb retardedly, so i wiped my phone, hooked up the usb, and it wasnt there. it said my phone was unrooted and asked me if i wanted to instal s2 to root it i hit yes, and now the phone wont boot up past samsung galaxy s4 home screen. i was using TWRP but it wont even open ... help me please im freakin out, prolly broke my phone i just bought it a week ago.
edit: okay so after trying like 15x twrp finally opened up. i put the backup i made onto my pc. do i just load it onto my usb, hook it up and go twrp > restore > usb-otg and restore it?
edit2: i go to restore but it shows nothing in my usb.
im freaking out again help please >.< do i need a file to install/where can i get it to get back to stock?
Download Odin and a rom in .tar format. Hold the volume down and power button to go into download mode. Then connect to usb and see the com port pop up, then select the pda tab and browse to the tar file. Then flash that. It will install stock firmware and recovery or rooted firmware and custom recovery based on what tar file you download.
If that sounds like too much to take in, and I suck at writing this kind of stuff up, do a YouTube search for sprint s4 unbrick/unroot and it should show all the steps.

Yea you should return to Stock Firmware. It should solve your issue.
Always, read and double check, even triple check before you mess with your phone. You should be alright if you follow previous post instructions.

Firstly b calm.
Panicking wont help.jst do as the op said. Flashing ur way thru odin.
Before that do double check the version dat it support ur device.pay attention to this.n do calmly.
N the more u try more r d chances of getting thru the prob.
Do search for s4 backup n restore it.
Or repair via kies.
Keep posted

The kernel is already inside the tar file that is inside the zip, the kernel is just there if you need stock MF9 kernel. If you can go back to stock with odin theres no need for kies.

[q] ota 4.3 update fails at 25%

I have an ATT SAMSUNG GALAXY S4. I have been rooted and have had safestrap installed previously. BOTH ARE UNINSTALLED NOW. Whenever I try to download the new 4.3 OTA update my phone restarts after downloading and gets to 25% then says update failed. I believe this is because my system folder is modified from rooting, de bloating, etc. I'm wondering if anyone has a copy of the completely stock mf3 /system folder so that I can replace mine, or if anyone can tell me how to find out which files I have modified or removed and how to replace them. Any other solution is also welcome. I HAVE tried searching before but nosolution I find works. Thanks.
Reroot, look for the busybox files in system/bin or system/xbox using a root Explorer of your choice. Delete them. Then unroot and try again.

From this post:
"The latest 4.3 official firmware (MK4 or later ) has KNOX enabled bootloader and can't be downgrade. So, don't try to downgrade If your bootloader is KNOX enabled."
That means: Check your bootloader through an app like Z-Device (playstore). If the last letter before the number is up to (and including) "J" you made the first price, but if it is "K" and up -> forget about downgrading.

First: Install Philz 5.15 via PC-ODIN and go to recovery
Second: Flash Dr. Ketans Multitool run through it choosing root and let it reboot.
Third: Go to playstore, install root checker and check :good:

couple questions before I root

I just bought this phone 2 days ago to replace my GS3 and I've been spending hours reading the forums and watching YouTube videos.
I had cm11 running on my Galaxy and I'm wanting to put it on my G2.
Rooting it looks easy enough and the IOroot will Be a breeze. Looking at recovery install it looks like there are 2 methods. Loki flash and Flashify app. Do you have to have the loki patch applied to use flashify and write the recovery? Or can you just flash it with root and be good to go?
My next question is the loki flash how to says twrp 2.6.3.2 and I need the 3.3 version for cm11. I read in a thread somewhere about the recoveries linked there being loki patched and using one not patched would bootloop the phone? Or can I download the twrp 2.6.3.3 and flash it via adb with the loki exploit instead? Some of the posts make it sound like twrp 2.6.3.2 is required for loki to work? And if so the best way to upgrade the recovery from there?
I'm not a newb to flashing been doing it for years just making sure I have a full understanding for this devices methods.
Edit: I use google chrome as my default phone browser and on xda the text in posts all compresses together and overlays sentences ontop of each other. Is there a way to fix?
No you do not have to just change recovery name from recovery.loki to recovery.img then flash with flashify

Thank you, I found a loki'd recovery file for 2.6.3.2 and a post with 2.6.3.4 with the loki patcher in the zip it looks like. I'm assuming once I flash the loki'd 2.6.3.2 recovery and then flash the 2.6.3.4 zip from twrp it should be working perfectly, I can nandroid and install cm11 just fine after that?
