Rooting:
Requirements:
Make sure you have enabled USB Debugging
You have any File manager in your phone
1.Download both these files (copy them in your URL) :
mediafire.com/?b2bs6g5qbu5bff6
mediafire.com/?c2a8vobin5w951a
2.Connect your device to PC via USB cable. Make sure you are on ''LG Software'' or ''Media sync'' USB connection mode.
3.Transfer file ''IS11LG_SystemBackupTest.signed.apk'' to your phone.
4.Now,using your file manager, install ''IS11LG_SystemBackupTest.signed.apk'' into your mobile.
5.Make sure you are NOT connected to PC now.
6.Open the app ''SystemBackupTest''.
7.You will see a message ''Hello world!'' on your phones screen. Don't close the app.
8.Now,reboot your phone. ! Make sure you reboot your phone while app is on.
9.When phone is rebooted, extract zip file ''My Root Package''.
10. Connect your phone to PC again. Change connection mode to charge only mode.
11. Open the extracted folder ''My Root Package''. Now,run ''root.bat'' if you are using Windows,root-linux.sh if you are using Linux,root-mac.sh if you are using Mac.
12.Once you open your root file, don't touch your phone or computer. Wait for it to complete. After process, your root file will closes automically and you see your device rebooting.
13. If you can find ''SuperSU'' app on your phone after this, contragulations. Your L5 is now succesfully rooted.

[Q] Root phone

I have problem for root x8 with flash tools 2.9.
I insltall driver from flashtool and install ggsetup-2.2.0.10.
Flashtool say this
Code:
13/015/2011 16:15:34 - INFO - <- This level is successfully initialized
13/015/2011 16:15:39 - INFO - Connected device : E15
13/015/2011 16:15:39 - INFO - Installed version of busybox : None
13/015/2011 16:15:42 - INFO - Pushing .\custom\root\busyboxE15 to /data/local/tmp/busybox
and will not move forward with the procedure.
I also try SuperOneClick but he say not rensponding.
check this things first.. (using superone click)
-have u tick usb debugging in apllication -> development ..?
-did u select charge phone when u connect it..?
-if u succesfully root it, reboot
i just follow this up and never had a problem...
maybe your phone is rooted but still in R/O Mode . . try installing Root Explorer and Change R/O to R/W . . hope this helps . . i also have this kind of problem when installing xRecovery . .
or install AndroidSDK first because i also had this problem using SuperOneClick on my netbook that doesnt have AndroidSDK but on my PC with AndroidSDK i had no problems rooting my phone . .
Can it be R/O without root(su) permission?
Some other tips,
@check wether your x8 driver is preinstalled in the window, sumtimes its unable, you might wanna fix this by installing pc companion from your x8(it will automaticaly install x8 specific driver to your pc.
@if you are using 2.2 superoneclck than try the older version.
@always connect your phone on battery charging during the rooting
and all the other as quoted by @maliceomalice
@if still isnt working, off debugging mode, start superoneclick, connect your phone, when superoneclick prompt searching for device(or some sort off) on the debuging mode.
Hope it helps, goodluck
never tried flashtool to root. I always use SuperOneClick.
you can also root your phone using X8 Toolbox and u can also install CWM Recovery or xRecovery . . its your choice . .

Superclick One 2.3 Stuck On Starting ADB Server.

Hello Sir, I Am Using SuperOne Click 2.3.
First I Enable USB Debugging.
Then I Connect My Phone To Computer.
Then I Open Superclick One Then Click Root.
Then I Install Drivers.
Then Kill Server.
Then Starting ADB Server.
Now I Am Stuck On This. SuperClick One Stop Responding. Please Help Me Out. I Wait For More Than 30 Mins Per Nothing Happen..
Hi
I had the same problem.
The solution, for me, was to follow closely that_guy's advice about rooting the new Gingerbread firmware:
1) Dial: *#*#2846579#*#*
2) Go to projectmenu > background settings > log settings > log switch > set Log on
3) Reboot Phone
4) Switch USB Debugging ON
5) Download SuperOneClick v2.3.3
6) Plug your U8800 into your computer but DO NOT mount SD Card.
7) Run SuperOneClick and press the ROOT Button, and let it do its thing (say yes to install drivers if asked).
8) Your phone should now be Rooted.
9) You can now go back and turn logging off if you want.
I have highlighted the steps in bold that you did not say you had completed.
You need to follow each step.
I hope you are successful
I did everything you said but still same problem. I am using windows7 32 bit.

Try also the following:
1. Log onto an Administrator's account and try from this account.
2. Try to use a different USB port
3. With the phone connected, go into device manager, remove the phones drivers from Windows 7. Re scan and reinstall the drivers.

works every time for me just need the adb drivers and SDK to be installed
You did not state any other steps you took before trying to root. Try this all again and don't forget the parts I have put in Bold:
1) Untick Fastboot under applications
2) Tick USB Debugging and Mock Locations under development (or similar)
3) Dial: *#*#2846579#*#*
4) Go to projectmenu > background settings > log settings > log switch > set Log on
5) Download SuperOneClick v2.3.3 Official Link
6) Plug your U8800 into your computer but DO NOT mount SD Card.
7) Run SuperOneClick and press the ROOT Button, and let it do its thing (say yes to install drivers if asked).
8) Your phone should now be Rooted.
9) You can now go back and turn logging off if you want.

Keep at it - I took a while, but was successful in the end.
Try to flash another firmware version, it was my problem.
I was trying in the version V100R001C00B528G001 so i have downloaded V100R001C00B526G001 and root was easy.
Still no luck guys. I think I am missing something any option to be enabled in PC or mobile.i have enabled Usb debugging and am running as administrator.
And what is flashing ROM how to do it?
Thanks all of you for your support.

one more: go to control panel -> device manager. If you see anything like samsung, android phone etc (check the usb tree there) - delete it (uninstall drivers) and reset PC.

Please help (need working unlock and root instructions)

I've been up and down the forums for two days trying every method and app and whatever else is recommended.
asus zenfone 2 laser
Z00TD (ZE551KL)
-i cannot unlock bootloader (Asus unlock tool does not work for any variant)
- cannot root with any one click app (assuming because bootloader is locked)
- cannot manually install drivers via any instructional method online. (They all seem to be 64 bit when I have a 32 bit machine) and there is no actual exe file to install anywhere that i can locate.
- cannot use windroid as it requires twrp (basically root) ....useless.
-cannot adb command unlock or root, does not recognize device (assuming because proper drivers are not installed)
I'm on the updated software version 1.16.40.763-20151201
Someone please give me a hint or some lead as to what I'm missing or where I'm going wrong.
Thanks in advance.
Download the adb-fastboot tool from here...:- Moderator EDIT PPC links are not allowed
Install it.. it will ask you for installing drivers also.. install them... Visit Asus.com and download the drivers for your device. . Now search for Device manager in Windows start menu. Click on Device Manager and then you will see a device named as Android or something like that... Right click on it.. then select update drivers... Then you will see two options 1). Check online 2. Browse my Pc for updated drivers.. select the 2nd one now browse the downloaded file of drivers and select it.. select the folder of files .(After unzipping the folder)...
Click on update.. now drivers will get installed.. now
Use Ctrl+shift+right click..(in adb folder mainly located in local disk c) and select open command Windows here. Enable the USB debugging option in developer options of your device.. At first it will ask for permissions. Alow it.. Now you can flash anything.. for further information ,if needed you can contact me..

I must be doing something wrong. Because I've done all of that. And the drivers don't install properly. I can get into fast boot and that's where it stops for me. The bootloader 20007.img code keeps failing.
I don't know. Something isn't right. I can't even unlock it with the Asus unlock tool. I've tried every one for every variant.

this might sound stupid, but try a different, better, usb cable.
I had a similar issue years ago, trying to flash my first android phone, windows would also give me device manager error. i beat my head on the wall for two days using the motorola supplied data cable, until on a whim i tried a different USB cable and everything worked.

Here you go:
Required
SD Card
FlashFire download
TWRP as recovery (mentioned you have)
Custom ROM (mentioned you have CM14)
Stock Firmware Package (mentioned you have)
Steps
Part One: Assuming you have all required files mentioned above
Boot into recovery
Choose Mount
Choose USB Storage
Copy all those required files to SD Card except Custom ROM
Unmount USB Storage
Now Reboot Device
Part Two: Assuming you are booted into the Custom ROM
Enable Developer Options in the phone and enable Root from developer options (if not enabled)
Install FlashFire and Open it
Click on +, select Firmware Package then locate where you copied downloaded files on SD Card and choose .tar.md5 tarball
If you want pure Stock ROM then remove tick mark from "Preserve Recovery" and " Inject SuperSU" options, also put tick mark on Wipe Data and Cache
Now start flashing and after reboot you'll have pure Stock ROM
Tips
About device not being recognized by PC, may be correct driver is missing so try installing Samsung Smart Switch (Kies are for older devices) download
Don't forget to post the result
