Screen - noticeable improvement here, colours are much more deep and rich, viewing angle of the Full HD IPS Panel is by far better than the Z1's TFT Panel.
Speakers - Big improvements here. Dual front-facing stereo speakers position at the top x1 and the bottom x1 of the phone. It has a nice surround feel to it, and is much louder than the HTC One's BoomSound. As for the sound quality, the HTC One's BoomSound still takes the lead.
4K Recording - Works like a charm with no lag, also noted that the micro stuttering of moving objects that pledge the z1's video samples are now gone. Moving objects/subjects now seem less artificial.
Noted:
The Screen Protector found on both front and back sides of the Z1 has been dropped/abandoned, and there's full access to the shatter proof tempered glass now. The "SONY" logo is now part of the tempered glass rather than any SP as seen in the Z1.

How's the camera of dopod838/HTC TyTN

I am currently an owner of o2 atom , those who've used it will know whY i am so skeptic , the camera of o2 atom is the WORST i've seen in my entire life , hell my o2 IIs was million times better with it's 1.3 mega pixel camera
Users of dopod838/HTC TyTN can you pls temll me , how's the picture quality , and how's the VIDEO quality , can we take a normal video with normal frame rate ? or will it lag like I am using a pathetic webcam
For a phone/pda/taoster device it has a decent camera. Here are a few pics I took in chicago while moving...in a truck, and I think they came out pretty good.

thanx nick , very decent picture, could you also tell me how's the video quality , is the video good , or does it skips ?
photo and video quality are good in outdoor / good lighting conditions (photos are not as good as but close to k750 quality, video is better) but at night and in dark places they are terrible.
Because the TyTN has onboard MPEG-4 hardware compression, the video comes out very smooth without any skipped frames. However, the compresion makes the video look kind of weird sometimes. Basically it looks as if you are looking up at the video from the bottom of a pool or something, with the image swimming around and looking very liquid. It's worse if you rotate the camera a bit while panning left-right.
@darky , at night I ain't expecting anything both in the photo mode and the video mode .
@rassah , will it be asking you too much to upload a small video if feasible , cause I cannot visualize the 'liquid' effect of yours ,though I am happy of to know atleast i doesn't skip
and o yes thanx u again

Hello
your pics are very good,...could you tell me how did you set your camera application?
(brightness, contrast, sharpness etc etc)
thanks
Click to collapse
set contrast and sharpness to 1
as for video the coolcamera software ver 1.15b (third party) can record in avi which greatly improves the quality.

I've heard a lot about this cool camera software , affects that much ?

better camera clarity for nexus one

well....
i saw this in desire thread.........
someone did a comparison in photos with backcover(battery cover) on and without it.. it there was a noticeable difference
in camera clarity.......
it was much improved with back cover removed...
i thought it should have been improved but a negligible. but it was a great difference..
tried it with nexus also and i also found a big difference.
the glass of backcover and the space between the glass and the camera reduces the camera clarity...
i guess i should remove the glass....lol
Man! Thanks for this reminder!
I've been noticing lately that focusing and picture clarity was rather lacking lately on my N1...Then seeing this thread it reminded me that I needed to clean the back-cover protective glass!
Especially for me, since I carry my N1 around "naked" (no case, no sleeve, just the bare nekked phone), it's not just the phone's screen that gets the smudges!
I totally believe that removing the protective glass pieces would improve picture clarity...But I'm not so eager to do anything about it as I'm not so confident in the camera's protection without them.
agreed and more importantly is the difference is more visible on a pc rather than yr nexus screen
yup, my cover is fairly scratched up at this point. If I'm taking a picture, I'm pulling it. Just be sure to hold the battery in place.
Can you post some pics for reference? Can you also post a pic with a legit camera of your camera window?
I've been thinking this may be true, but I haven't done any testing yet.
agreed and more importantly this.
Thanks, i tried it and the quality is better
I was skeptical, but there actually is a noticeable difference in clarity.

I confirm it does have a slight effect on the contrast and sharpness. I took the pictures with a spit-clean camera cover and one without.

The first one is WITH THE COVER ON and the other one is with the cover taken OFF. Noticeable difference in contrast for sure.

Stock camera app quality

Hi,
Have you taken pictures with another camera app than stock?
Camera MX (free on the store)

Stock camera
Seems the quality of the pics taken by the stock app is not as good as the other.
I've found that in the market they all have their pros and cons and that the differences are variable depending upon the circumstance, but the camera certainly isn't the feature to be bragged about on this phone. I've found that one of the ports of the Nexus 4 camera produces the best results most consistantly on my handset. I've also often wondered if my handset got the short end of the stick with the camera it has since a lot of other people are happy with the quality they get out of their RAZR HD, though I'm coming from a Galaxy S 2 which takes wonderful shots in comparison to some of the phones out now despite it now being an old phone model. Its the one thing I really miss about the S2.
On a tangent, I played around with a Galaxy S 4 today and did a bit of camera testing. Single shot stuff. I didn't find that it was all that much better than the S3 or S2 for taking single snapshots. The anti-shake setting worked but not quite as well as on the previous devices, for example. That was really all I could test though, since they always have great lighting when you're looking at phones. Quality is quality, but I'm not convinced 13 megapixels is better than 8 the way Samsung implemented 8 on the previous devices. To be fair though, I had it at 9.5 megapixels. 13 restricts you to a 4:3 shot.
I'll have to try out Camera MX now
thanks for the heads up, just tested it out and it does seem a little sharper, plus the FX options are pretty cool too

Are there any "hacks" for the stock cam in the build prop or media xml where one might tune a little parameters of e.g. jpg quality?
