Happy about pretty much everything but the huge amount of wasted real estate on the front. It's like my Jewel buy with an extra speaker on the front.
Regardless, I'll be getting one today if the upgrade price is right.

GSMArena review starts positive & then saves its royal kicking until the end. Basically a decent phone let down by a camera that didn't even cut the mustard in 2013 let alone 2014.

This is exactly how I will feel about all new up and coming flagship phones.... Meh... I will definitely bypass this year's new flagship phones.
Sent from my C6833 using Tapatalk

So just like the Samsung s5 only a very small upgrade. It's nice to add a microsd SD slot but seriously the HTC logo is still incredible misplaced.
Also lol at all that fitness crap, since all manufacturers are doing it it seems more like a data fishing attempt. I am 5 times a week in the gym and i know some people nobody uses their smartphone for tracking stuff, 90 percent of the time it's used to replace a mp3 player.
It's really a small and disappointing upgrade no octacore, no 3gb ram and no uhd so far all phones this year seem lackluster.

A new phone.

Well, I guess its almost the end for my wildifre. I've gone and picked up a motorola motoluxe. A midrange armv7 device with a 4 inch screen and a "8 megapixel" camera. Its fast and snappy. Unlike the aging wildfire. And has been rooted. I'm not sure if I'll get rid of my wildfire just yet. Its been a great introduction to android. And I hope the great experience continues with this new phone. I wont leave the wildfire section. I'll always keep popping back to see your progress with jellybean and ice cream sandwhich.

I doubt that, lol. It doesn't even have a XDA section. And the only real comprehensive rooting guide is on Phandroid. Isn't the Optimus Speed an Optimus 2X in disguise? Or is it a completely different phone?

Samsung Galaxy Note 2 Wiki - Please Help To Update

Samsung Galaxy Note 2 Wiki
Hi all, I have made a start to the note 2 wiki. There is not a lot to add a present, but thought it best to make a start. The wiki can be a great resource for users new and old. Its also a good way to reduce sticky threads so making it easier for us all I ask all to contribute, just only add valid information that has no copyright. Also only link Kernels that are fully GPL compliant (supply Source) As not doing this hampers future development and goes against the whole open source approach.
I will leave this thread open to discuss wiki related issues, but please keep it to only that, its not a chat room.
Hope its useful

NEWS & UPDATES
GSMArena's Review back in September 10,2012
http://www.gsmarena.com/samsung_galaxy_note_ii-review-811.php
The "Galaxy Note II" Released in India & Germany @ 599 Euro (NEW)
http://www.gsmarena.com/samsung_launches_galaxy_note_ii_in_india_and_germany-news-4863.php
I think necessary to describe in detail GPU and Video characteristics
might also want to mention the split screen functionality that were linked here from a couple of the korean language youtube videos
updated wiki with features and some minor adds .
mali-400 gpu
Tri-colour led alert light (like the S3)
It should also be made more clear in the GENERAL section that the LTE/4G referred to in the specs is for the N7105 version. I know it shows that but someone reading quickly may mistake the N7105 for part of an LTE spec rather than noticing it is a different model variant.
Further down in the specs under the DATA setting, again it should be made more clear that the LTE/4G Is only on the N7105 model.
Supplied standard Mains charge is 5 Volt 2 Amps output.
Note 2 was released in India on September 27 for 39,900 Rupees (~$760). Source
Note II for UAE was released on 28 September 2012.
Note II for Saudi Arabia was released on 2 October 2012.
Note II dul sim card for China was released on mid October
Also i could not find that it infact has a 2amp charger? as far as i understand, this is pretty new to the Note II?
- Bobo
when holding the phone with the screen facing you, the stylus goes in the bottom, on the right underside.
I am not sure what you have there is correct for every GNote2. From what I have found there are four different models that support different networks.
1. International (+LTE): SGH-7100 / SGH -7105
2. SGH-i317 : ATT+(Rogers+Bell + Telus): HSPA 850/900/1900/2100, LTE: 700/850/1700/1900
3. SCH-i605 : CDMA + LTE 700
4. SGH-T889 : T-Mobile+Mobilicity+Wind : HSPA: 850/900/1700/1900/2100, LTE: 700, 1700

hi,
need input if GNote 2 compare with SIII. which one better?
Hey,
I think that it's pretty relevant to say that it uses micro simcard? i waited 36 hours before I could use my phone, because I hadn't ordered a micro-simcard
- Bobo
OP may want to add that the phone (N7100) uses a Micro Sim Card. I thought it used a regular sim card until I unboxed mine and found out that I needed to cut my sim card

Officially announced

Well this large website states it is & has the official details.
http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/tech/ne...ches-with-snapdragon-801-chip-duo-camera.html
Official details
Here are the highlights that stand out the most to me in using it as my daily phone for months:
A more refined design: it's 90% metal now, with the metal wrapping up the side (the HTC One was 70% metal). The gunmetal gray is simply gorgeous and has this great texture to it. I've also never seen a single HTC One (M8) with a gap of any kind - the entire phone is more solidly constructed.
Bigger Battery: with a 2600 mAH battery, it lasts longer. I don't have to think about charging it before the end of the day.
Bigger Storage: Yes, it's true, we put a microSD slot in there, and it supports up to 128 GB of storage. How's that for mind-blowing?
Bigger Screen: 5 inches is a nice size; not so huge like the One max, but noticeably bigger than the 4.7 inch screen on the HTC One. I got used to the 5.9" screen on the One max, but there was no adjustment period with the HTC One (M8).
Better BoomSound: The audio quality from the dual-front facing speakers on the HTC One was great...but you wouldn't believe how much better the new HTC One (M8) sounds! Richer, fuller audio with a wider sound. It's 25% louder, yes, but the audio quality is dramatically better. I didn't grasp by how much until a co-worker did a side by side comparison for me.
A Better Camera Experience: It's a 4 megapixel UltraPixel sensor, but we switched to a new provider for the sensor, completely addressed the pink tint issue, added a second sensor to get depth/spatial information (which allows for some great camera effects). Image quality is simply better.

Hey, I bought it off of ebay , it's working fine for 2 days... And today its hanging excessively... I don't know y... Anyone else facing this issue?
Hi All,
I bought this device last week .. it's a good device. Two concerns though which is the heating issue below the camera and the phone ringtone sound is very low at full volume. I have observed that only the bottom speaker works when the phone rings on call. The phone is hardly audible when away.. anyone sharing similar experience or is this a one off case with me?
Regards,
SS

The device heats up sometimes but there is definitely no burning smell from any part of my device. Would suggest you get your cell checked at HTC service center.

bluetooth issues
Device is great
heavy usage:no issues(except the heating which is barely felt when with dot-view case)
only issue that i am facing is that at some distance apart from any bluetooth speaker, it tends to give disturbed signals when touched below the camera/heating region
anyone facing the issue?

htc 820 nandroid backup rom
required htc 820 nandroid backup rom 1.22.720.1
My girlfriend bought a htc Desire 820DS last week. Loaded everything into the phone using a USB otg. Nothing's erased on whatsapp, but phone failed to reboot while performing "system update", and the worse comes the worst is that, I tried everything I read on the internet, the phone itself cannot be rebooted.
Single SIM 820?
Anybody heard about single sim 820?
820 is not available in my country so that I asked one of my friends (traveling to India) to brought me a device. He brought me one but seems it's a single sim device. I never know that such single sim device available. I'm really upset of the single sim configuration. :crying:

It support b20, one big reason for me to switch for xiaomi to LeEco
Still no information about OIS and USB.
Really good spec and pricing. Hopefully it works on T-Mobile network here

the US version seem to have different spec. like single sim and support more US band, like AT&T LTE band 17. That was the first thing I spotted. source here. I guess that might also means two different ROMs version also.

I can't confirm, but i've seen in multiple threads that people are saying it's the same camera as the OP3. If that's the case, it's a mid-range camera, which is absolutely fine for this price range. The ROM and kernel support is what i'm more worried about at this point. Change the software in this phone and this is a spiritual successor to the original nexus line (some compromises on things like camera and flash memory speed, mostly up-to-date specs with a great price point)
I totally agree on the spec vs price point. It's just crazy to have to fork over another $350-400 just for a better camera.
I currently own an LG G3 W/Xosp and have never been impressed with the camera.
So I'm searching for the best Chinese phone that can have custom rooms.
Thanks

No OIS and even no DIS, no USB 3.0/3.1 and the screen is not the best. The old Le Max 2 Pro got a much better screen.
So maybe wait for xiomi latest and greatest? Mi mix looking pretty amazing
