[Q] LTE band 7 on ls980? - G2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi, guys.
I have ls980 on stock ZVA, rooted and GSM unlocked. 3g works fine, but there is no LTE. I live in Russia, and our LTE bands are 7,20,38.
So, is there any way to enable other LTE bands than Sprint's 25,26,41? To flash proper radio or baseband may be?
Thanks!

the same question. Any solve?

No I don't believe you can just flash different modem and enable bands because the phone has different models... Chances are it is a difference in hw and flashing an incompatible modem may cause a brick

[Q] GSM and LTE modem difference?

Hello
I have a i9505 s4 mobile. When I change modem I always use modems from a tread here in XDA developers and flash them with odin.
But I am wondering about the difference between GSM and LTE modem.
If I flash the LTE modem, does only the 4G/3G LTE modem gets updated and not the GSM?
And if I flash only GSM does the same happens visa versa?
Should I update both modems?
I always switch between GSM and 3G when im in different areas to make my mobile last longer...

question about baseband

please answer only if you know/sure 100%
i have a f180 too and flashing a e975 international rom does not do any damage, just you don't get signals that you can fix by multiple options....
what i want to know is if its possible to flash the D802 baseband on d800 without permanent damage.
i don't mind re-flashing tot to fix the phone.
why i want to do this, i want to try and see if somehow flashing a different baseband enable different lte band, as my carrier only works on 1800 lte and d800 i have, does not have 1800 lte band.

I9505 S4 LTE Int. - Activating TDD LTE bands

I own a i9505 International LTE model. My carrier has soon went for TDD LTE in Romania which is a first here. As everybody knows this far the i9505 only supports FDD LTE.
There seems to be two S4 models i9507 and I9507V that both support TDD LTE bands and are available in HK and Australia.
Tried flashing the LTE modem from those models but my bootloader refuses the file and i get an error in ODIN.
I used QXDM and modified the phone. DFS CDMA tool uppon scan now shows my phone accepts the stock LTE bands + Band38 but when
the phone attempts to connect to the Band38 it goes with no signal no network then falls back into 3G.
I believe i enabled the permision to connect to Band38 but because the modem has no instructions of it , it still can't communicate on Band38
There have been reports of i9507+-V users that flashed i9505 roms and theyre modem got overwriten resulting in no more DATA connection for them. It's clear FDD modem on a TDD network will not work.
Is there any chance of forcing the LTE modem from i9507V onto the i9505 phone ? Would Heimdall overpass the bootloader's check ?
The i9505 latest bootloader and modem is OH2 , on I9507V there is OH3
Also what is the worst case scenario ? I would imagine FDD network loss and/or wifi. Is that impossible to recover from or flashing the correct modem over would fix it ?
Anyone encoutered flashing the wrong modem file and recovered from it ?
I don't care if i loose FDD networks since my carrier only has TDD on 4G.
Also. Would it be possible to combine the i9505 5.0.1 sources against i9507V 5.0.1 sources and come up with a combined/hybrid modem ?
You are from Romania?
Yes.
I read that it can be activated with QXDM on lg g2 and sam. s5. Did you tried it?
I used QXDM and added band38 , when LTE is enabled in network type it works 5%. It tries to connect to the 4g signal then drops dead with no network no signal and goes back to 3g.
QXDM only adds permision to connect to certain bands , the i9505 modem does not have the instructions on how to communicate with a TDD network (band38 is TDD not FDD)
Nobody owning a G2 , G3 or S5 managed to add a functional TDD band. You can add more FDD bands thats for sure but not TDD without a proper modem.
That's why i'm curious about binding the i9507V modem with I9505 somehow so it gives it the instructions on how you can communicate on TDD networks.
That is sad. Because to the and of this year rcs will introduce lte in my city as well.

Modem for Samsung S5 G900F

I want to ask if it is possible or anybody can modify any modem to have all lte band activated and after that to flash them on phone?
PS i ask that because i have this phone model and i need to activate lte on band 38 2600.
i need the same thing, we are in Romania with Digi Carrier, my phone works only on h+

I'm trying to get through the steps. You need to start with a radio that has some level of LTE support.

Help me decide what to do now. [NOOB][VS980]

Hello everyone! I recently got a second-hand verizon G2 VS980. I live in India (location is relevant in my case because of this being a US only model). I had ROOT pre-installed and it stays even after factory reset. This indicates that it is NOT stock.
This phone has legit hardware, as in it has all VS980 components. I have checked it. BUT IT HAS THE IMEI OF A D800. Does this mean that i also have the bands of D800 enabled?
Now what i want to do is,
Above all i want this phone rooted and flashed to the latest and most stable ROM atm.
Second, i would like to use 4G LTE on it, here in India. I know that VS980 supports only band 4 and 13. I NEED band 3,5,40. I have trawled the internet for this specific info but to no avail. Does the VS980 has the hardware it takes to use other 4G bands? Or is it manufactured only with band 4 and 13 in mind? The only pieces of little info i came upon was this

After spending a few days hacking around with the VS980 (LG G2 Verizon Model) I wish to share some findings.
1. NV edits to the bands will only work with baseband 11A or earlier. All later radios have the NV values hardcoded into the baseband and any changes will be reverted. You can successfully edit the NV values, and they will survive reboot on baseband 11A, but as soon as you install a later baseband they will revert to stock. CM11 works well with 11A. Perhaps binary modification to later basebands would be possible.
2. LTE Band 17 does not appear to be supported by the hardware. I copied all the values from a D801. Android now reports my phone as a GSM model instead of CDMA which is nice, but it just won't connect to LTE Band 17. If I delete band 4, I can't get LTE at all, so I know the settings are having an effect.

and this. So i am confused where to start, i currently have a 26A baseband. Is it possible to enable band 3,5 and 40 on VS980?
I found the guides much confusing and complex relative to other devices i had. I am confused what to do first.
Should i flash TWRP first? or
Should i flash stock firmware?
I see that bands can be edited only on baseband 11A or earlier, so should i downgrade to that etc.
I have the phantom touches, and i read that they were gone after a specific update, so can i still get/flash that update with
a 11A baseband?
I do not understand this baseband, bootloader, exploits, and ROM compatiblity things.
I am willing to try even low level edits if someone is able to help and guide me.
Lastly, i just want my VS980 to run a good stable ROM with (if possible) 4G LTE on band 3,5 and/or 20 (India) and NO phantom touches update.

Bump. Noone?
Can't anyone tell me that does the verizon model even includes hardware capability for 4G band 3,5 and 20? If this gets cleared, more than HALF of my problems will be gone.

This means that i can't enable/use other bands because the hardware does not exist for any band except 4 and 13. Yes?
