Which version you have compiled?
I didn't modified any boot.img
It was modified by someone else.
One More Question:
Did you ZTE Open hangs most of the times?

First I built from 1.1B02 to 1.3 and modified boot image according to this method [1] and made these modifications [2].
Next, built from 1.3 to 1.4 and used your boot img.
I've just tested 1.4 a little for now, and my zte open never hangs on 1.3.

I've followed this tutorial [1] (built from 1.1 to 1.3, set BRANCH=v1.3 instead of v1.2 in the script) and have modified boot.img according to the 2 links [2] and [3] mentioned before.

This will work for all those who are having Bootloop issues while flashing Custom firmware
This build is compiled by someone so i take no credit for that. I'm just here to share that

This image works great. At least as far as I have tested. Much snappier than 1.1, 1.2.
Could I ask (beg) you to compile a japanese version?
I'm giving a talk in Japan on JavaScript in about a month and I was hoping to show off this device.
I'd really appreciate it if you could do this for me.
I believe the information contained here may be helpful: ... 8 / I cannot post links as a newbie...

:crying: My bad. I didn't read before I installed..
Could you point me in the right direction?
My own builds of b2g have been less than successful. The closest I've gotten was to get a unstable versions installed.

you may want to have a look at neuralassembly . blogspot . com (can't post links....) its in japanese and he explains how to build a japanese enabled version for Samsung Galaxy S3, you'll have to adapt that but i guess at least you will be able to read it without google translate
hope this is helpful to you.

Thanks, I can and have compiled for this device. The tricky parts are finding a version that is stable enough to use. And getting all of the right proprietary drivers. And there may be some other unknown(s) that I'm messing up. The version you've posted tells me the git version so that's 1 of the 2 major foreseeable obstacles.
Call me a conspiracy nut, but what's the big deal with closed source drivers on cell phones? So what if the public finds out how to write to a screen or send communication over the radio. Technically we can already write to small lcd screens with adrino parts and communicate over the air with shortwave. And yet every single phone out there is closed, even the Maemo was partially closed. I don't see any legitimate reason for this other than some giant conspiracy by large corporations. Either the ma bells don't want us using the air-waves for free or the governments of the world don't want us not being tracked. And I suppose it's a lot of both.

well, it was just an example on how to get japanese working on the device, not really a cookbook.
for the building i guess you should follow the instructions on Mozilla developer network.
they have a page dedicated to the ZTE Open.
mine will arrive maybe next week, so i cant really build yet, since the phone has to be connected for the build to proceed.
and i am fine with it being in english, even though my native language is german, but i always change the language to english (must be an IT thing with me)

There are some official ZTE versions out there with fastboot disabled. B06 is safe. But be careful to read about other user experiences before you upgrade.

As far as I am aware when ZTE first released the 1.1 Firefox OS update through their website it was released without fastboot enabled. This however was a mistake, so they took those files down and re-uploaded newly compiled versions of the same Firefox OS 1.1 but with fastboot enabled. :good:

thanks for the warnings, i have read about that and i think it is even stated on the MDN.
i think because of this there is also a lot of misunderstandings, as i do not think you need a hacked boot.img if your phone has fastboot enabled already.
well i guess i will find out when it arrives, as i want to upgrade at least to 1.3
this wont be my daily use device, i just want to see where FXOS stands and is developing to.
if i like it i guess i would go for a more mid-level device (like a Alcatel Fire E/S or the new not yet announced higher spec ZTE)
my only gripe here is that sony doesnt seem to move on and release their FXOS phone, and the support with Alcatel was a bit patchy so far from what you read.
it would be nice if all of the FXOS phones had the possibility to be used as Dev-devices.

I am not the creator/uploader of this post but I have installed it multiple times and know a little bit about this kind of thing It is a pre-release version so it is far from being complete or "stable"... I would not suggest using this build for daily use as there is no guarentee everything will work correctly even if it does for someone else, but for testing and/or restoring a bricked (broken phone) it is perfect.

[Q] How to install new android on A1000L-F

Hi!
Can someone guide me little with rootting and installing new android on IdeaPad A1000L-F?
I've found a lot of guides, but none of those are for this wlan model only, I think? I would be so happy, if someone could tell me how and what can I do with this. Current android (4.1) is so outdated, that I cant stand this. And latest games don't even install on this version.
Thanks!
Edit: Got my tab rooted with one click root, but what now?
any help yet? i have same tablet and same question:silly:
Nothing yet, sorry. We'll see, maybe someone gives us a little advice soon. Hope so!
First, you'd have to port a recovery (cwm or twrp) to your device and fastboot flash it.
You'll have to use a repo for aosp, cm, miui, or other and make a rom.
The a1000l source code is available here: http://mobilesupport.lenovo.com/us/en/products/a1000_tablet?tabname=downloads
You will need that in your venture.
Unfortunately, this is just not a popular tablet. I bought one for my daughter and rooted it, but that's about as far as I will go with it.
Good luck!
It looks like recovery is already available for T, F, models. I'm not certain if this will translate over to G, L models or not:

Version of the A1000-F can earn. Use at your own risk, no one has tested it.

The only "custom" ROM I have found is just a modified version of stock. This means no version upgrade:

I am unable to get flashtool working from those threads and fastboot is not detecting the device in Windows or Linux. I was hoping to "fastboot boot recovery.img" in order to do some testing, but no luck right now. I'll mess around some other time...
I've got working CWM on my A1000L-F thanks to the links in this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=50187460&postcount=2
Lenovo has only released broken source so compiling 4.2+ will be too much of a hassle for an $80 tab that my daughter uses...

[ROM][FirefoxOS][DISCUSSION] NEW for Z3C!!!

hi guys, I see there are still no threads for FirefoxOS that has been just released by FXP for our device too (z3c) so I'm creating one
this thread just to discuss about it!
INFO: http://fxpblog.co/2015/09/26/firefox-os-releases-by-fxp.html
DOWNLOADS: http://fxpblog.co/firefox/nightly/
INSTALLATION:
- You must have a UNLOCKED BL
- Extract all system images from the ARIES zip you downloaded
- Connect phone to PC in fastboot mode and then:
fastboot flash boot boot.img
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
fastboot flash system system.img
fastboot flash userdata userdata.img
fastboot reboot
downloading the zip for aries right now! will see how it goes
in the meantime, I have already some questions I would like to reply myself after testing the new OS or if somebody already knows the answers, please let me know!
1. rootable? DON'T THINK SO
2. recovery can be installed or to go back to stock will have to flash FTF via flashtool? SEEMS NO RECOVERY AT ALL?!
3. camera present/working? if so, without fish eye bug? CAMERA NOT WORKING AT ALL
4. gapps are needed? in firefox OS there is no Play Store right? NO GAPS, THERE IS MOZILLA MARKETPLACE WITH FEW STUFF STILL OF COURSE
Please contribute guys in answering all the above questions!
THANKS
All credits to Mozilla and FXP ( @freexperia ) teams of course!

few impressions so far:
the bad:
- no camera
- no dt2w
- no extsd support (where I have all my stuff!)
the good:
- seems very nice and promising
- app ops
- nice animations
will keep updating!
Really interested to try this once it's fully functional. Thanks for the heads up!

Unlocked bootloader for sure, since you must flash boot.img
Our device is ARIES, if someone doesn't know yet
Testing today...
me too just unlocked the BL!
EDIT: just booted inside FirefoxOS for my first time
things I noticed so far:
see OP
First impressions:
-only English language.. mmmhhh.. and the keyboard is only in english
-you can import your contacts also from gmail... ok.. that's good
-there's a tutorial at the beginning that explains how it works :victory:
-camera just doesn't work (the camera is in use by another app) !!??!!
-some popular apps ready to install... ok, fine!
-to take screenshots you have to press home+power... but I can't get it :crying:
-settings menu is like a hybrid between android and ios
-all the gestures work properly and are different from android, but they're friendly :good:
-the phone is getting very hot now
-arrrgghhh.... force close... the phone rebooted automatically :crying:
yes for sure not ready for daily driver, but seems very nice
for screenshots I just used android normal gesture (power + vol down)
no recovery right? will have to flash FTF to go back to stock?
phone is not hot at all here so far
Problem with camera is in HAL. Logcat... logcat.
In AOSP builds there is no camera, this is the cause.
Seems problem has been solved. Waiting for new build from fxp team then

it seems very very basic and not ready for daily use but well better than nothing..! let's see

right now the bug for the camera on the lollipop build is being worked on, as far as i can find in our bug reports the kk build camera should be working or it would be under QA-blocker. Also for some of the problems you are having such as only english when building make sure to put PRODUCTION=1 it will make it so it flashes all of the languages, that just has to do with not setting the right build variables.

i just double checked with of the devs, The aires device, you can build the kk version which does have a working camera, you just have to compile it yourself. The lp build currently available on task cluster does not have the working camera, in all honesty the lp kernal version is not fully complete yet, right now the camera is one of those parts that are not fully complete. if you want to take a look the bug number is 1163557 you have to go to bugzilla.mozilla.org it might help explain the situation. right now lp is experimental.

thanks mate, will do! and thanks also for the info, it is nice someone from firefoxos project directly is looking around here and share info with us!
unfortunately i'm not skilled enough for building myself, so can just wait for fxp team to build them for us.
afaik devs are working on updated/fixed camera blobs for lp as we speak, so we could have a decent camera available for aosp soon, in that case hope it will land in firefox os too
really looking forward for a usable build of firefoxos for our device, it seems a very nice project... i like firefox, i like opensource, i don't like google at all recently... so hope to find in fxos soon a great alternative! :good: :fingers-crossed:

If it comes with a KK kernal on it i can see if I can make you one, i dont think it is under nda for the blobs for kk, im not sure 100% though. i just know for the flame device im not allowed to give out builds that have not gone through approval from t2mobile as distributable.

By the time you get it back i hope that i will already have a working build for you.
Also people, if the base image you are using is gotten from mozilla its a 99% chance its rooted, they are left unlocked for testing and development reasons, the only time they are locked usually is when you are getting them from the phone manufacturer also know as a production build, which we do not make.

Okay i have looked into it, the only way i can make you a base image is if it is blib free so you would have to get the blobs from Sony. The blobs are currently under nda so there is no way i can share them without getting in trouble. The only way it seems you could get the kk build with a working camera is if you flash back to android and then get the blobs from the device and then from there you would have to add them to the blob free base image.
The project got already discontinued by Mozilla because the not given chance to get close to Android, iOS or WIP
Maybe with a hardboot kernel it could be saved as a stable, second OS with Multirom...

Hello any chance of CM13 for the non-PRO version?
I'm just trying to build the kernel source released yesterday, but it seems the symlinks inside the archive are stored in a bad way, I'll have to fix that somehow first. And I've never built a CM before, so it can take me some time... or make that a LOT of time

There is already a thread open regarding the bootloader unlock process, please read it. You will find there a link given to register with an email address instead of a phone number

Dear Zyvex,
Thank you for your answer.
Unfortunately, I have tried with some threads related to Zuk developpers and each time, after entering email, a new widow appear asking telephone number to register.
So please give me the good link.
Thank you !
For Guillaume

Thank you, it is just what I have done, and all is great, nut, I can only boot the rcovery with fastboot, impossible to flash. An error occured with ADB mentionning problem :
Unknown partion: 'recovery-TWRP-3.0.2-20160712-ZUK_Z2_PRO-CN-wzsx150.img'
error: cannot determine image filename for 'recovery-TWRP-3.0.2-20160712-ZUK_Z2_PRO-CN-wzsx150.img'
I will try to find more.
Thank's again!
Seems like you don‘t tell fastboot on which partition to flash TWRP.
Try this one:
fastboot -i 0x2b4c flash recovery path/to/twrp/img

For Mediatek Devices it is pretty easy because if you manage to build a ROM for a device that has its software made by the same company who did the same software for another device (i hope this sentence is clear), then you can build a ROM for both devices with just some minor changes.

I'll just reply here for the last time, it is OT, but still useful for development
When there is no kernel source code, i use the prebuilt kernel image (included with the Stock ROM), while everything else gets compiled (excluding proprietary files required to handle the hardware).

I'm also wondering about ROMs for the 4gb version of the phone? Have they updated that to the same level as the 6gb ROM? I thought the specs were identical apart from the extra 2gb of memory??

"Can you do" doesn't exist yet.
It is only the Stock ROM provided by DOOGEE directly, not something I made. You have to ask DOOGEE if you want other variants, then provide me the link.
Ah okay, i thought this was the pure stock Android Rom without Doogee "bloat".... Do you think there will be a lineage Version in future?

It does, I have flashed it on my own MIX.
How did you flash it with SP Flash Tools?
When i connect and try it says BROM ERROR: STATUS_BROM_CMD_SEND_DA_FAIL(0xC0060003)
What does it mean.
I installed drivers for MT67xx and latest SP Flash Tool
I have my phone turned off and when i connect (after clicking download in SP Flash Tool) it says the error.
Hi guys, i'm pretty novice about all of this and i dont speak english a lot, i have a problem with my new DOOGEE MIX (6gb i think), i tried to uninstall the "DOOGEE OS" many times but i failed all time. There is a cat/gameboy on my screen and i cant remove them, maybe i can find an issue here. Thank a lot in advance and have a good day !

Update only Bootloader and Modem ( no need to flash stock or lock bootloader )

DISCLAIMER
Not taking responsibility if it goes wrong
Do not use this procedure if you have a higher bootloader version than Cx182, it will brick your device.
I made this because I didn't want to flash oreo -02 firmware only -03, and I know that both have the same bootloader and modem. I advice against this if you have -02, you should do it the proper way.
This guide works for both XT1635-02 and XT1635-03.
This was tested using XT1635-03 on a custom ROM.
Make sure you have adb enabled on your device.
You should not loose any data, and you will be able to boot back to the system without any problem.
This will update to the following:
Bootloader Version: Cx182
Modem Version: M8953_10238.63.04.83R
FSG Version: FSG-8953-04.118
Download Oreo stock signed image:
NOTE: This image is for XT1635-02, but for 2 times (from Marshmallow to Nougat, and from Nougat to Oreo I've used a XT1635-02 image on my XT1635-03 and it still works)

Unzip the downloaded zip into your adb folder.
Boot device into Bootloader/Fastboot Mode.
If you are not sure what are you doing, ask here or read fastboot documentation before flashing anything
Commands: Credits to @allrightlite
Code:
fastboot flash partition gpt.bin
fastboot flash bootloader bootloader.img
fastboot flash modem NON-HLOS.bin
fastboot flash fsg fsg.mbn
fastboot flash dsp adspso.bin
EDIT: OP says only use on -03. cool.
You are telling folks they can turn a 7 ROM into an 8 ROM.
1.82 bl is Oreo.
Ill advised if you flash to N ROM (?).
Ill advised to flash bl separate from ROM (?).
(EDIT - I really don't know to what extent you can mix them but may well be more than I know.)

You mean N stock right?
My suggestion is - don't mix bl and rom unless you really know what you are doing and are ready to deal with a brick situation. These are not legos. a different bl provides a different environment . A ROM expects/needs a certain environment to run correctly. The only okay mix I know of is Alberto97's 8.1AOSP which runs on a 7.x bl 0 but it was especially built to do so.
EDIT: I really don't know to what extent you can mix the contents of a 7 and 8 ROM.(stock and/or custom)

Okay! So if you look at the above posts you will see that twice I have taken the time to warn you against doing what you want to do. That's all I can do. The responsibility for what you do is yours alone. ANY ROM relies heavily on its support system/bl/environment. Change that and you will have an unknown situation. Stock ROMs, custom ROMs , soaktests, all need something to stand on that is designed for them.
Think physical building architecture for a minute. if I take a 100 story building off its foundation and drop it on another foundation, How likely do you think it would be to remain as strong as before? or just fall over?
going through re-editing this stuff and just saying again:
EDIT: I really don't know to what extent you can mix the contents of a 7 and 8 ROM.
Keep cool, that's working. Special thanks goes to Alberto97, who has tell us in his thread what we need. But thanks to TeamMax, too. He has confirmed, that we don't need OEM.img for custom ROMs (it's unused, so for treble/vendor). So, the 5 commands are working fine. Have tested here and no problems. Now on Android 9.0 thanks Treble

But I don't understand, the only thing I'm not flashing is system, which custom ROMs replace.
We already take a building and change foundations.

No
stock or custom use the same bl etc. The difference is between 7 and 8. You are taking stuff from 8 and putting it into a ROM built around 7.
again, just:
EDIT: I really don't know to what extent you can mix the contents of a 7 and 8 ROM.
OP edited OP to say only use on -03 , so, cool. You can sum up my comments in this thread to say "if you're on -02, know what you're doing and be able to unbrick yourself" - ignore the rest.
I think OP knows what te is doing for -03 (and maybe for -02 as well...! )
Apparently you are able to mix 7 and 8 - I just don't want to go on record for having said it and have someone brick their phone. But that is the direction of treble. Enjoy.
