Self destroying display? Custom FW - Galaxy S 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello people,
i've read much about self destroying displays with the Galaxy S4. A friend of mine had the same problem, but it was sent to samsung and they fixed it for warranty.
My S4 was built in January 2014. Are there still these problems?
I have flashed all my phones till now, but now im scared to flash the S4, because of this problem.
Would it be possible, to reset the flash counter (Triangle for example), even if the display is not working? (Phone is still working and will be detected on a computer)
Thanks people!

S4 Reboots

My phone had been rooted for a while. Was using Lollipop RR for a while then I started getting your sim card had been removed restart.
I had a new sim card put in yesterday, had it prompt to restart a few times already.
Now I am getting just the phone rebooting with no prompt.
I've read that people have fixed it by either a certain SamMobile rom or new battery. Also it could be Knox? Or modem.l?
From people's experience does this sound like hardware fault? Or rooting phone causing it
Hi TG09, I think you're in the wrong forum. For what I can see, you have a Samsung Galaxy S4, and this is the forum for the Samsung Galaxy S 4G Model (SGH-T959V). I would gladly help you anyway, but I don't have a Samsung S4.
Hope you get your problem solve.

[Q] Installing a Samsung S4 I9500 ROM on a Samsung S4 SCH-545.

Hello XDA ,
As you can see I have a big problem. I got a Samsung Galaxy S4 from Verizon and I left the country. Now, I want to use it where I live and I have fixed the SIM card problems but I want to run the original S4 I9500 ROM and not the Verizon one, as i suspect the Verizon one causes problems. Can I do that? As the devices are the same but the one i have is from verizon and has a different model number.
I (my wife) has the same phone, I managed to root it and tomorrow I will try to flash twrp and look if I can get cm14 on it. Stupid Verizon ROM....
Late reply I know... Merry Christmas

Yep, iirc, Lollipop locks the bootloader of the G900A, so if you're not rooted and are running Lollipop, you're stuck

Before customizing tips needed

Hello, i currently own a samsung galaxy s3. so i know alot already about installing custom rom, custom recovery kernels etc..
i once bought a samsung galaxy s5 and customized it successfully but there are times that the phone reboots randomly for no reason. and that was a hardware issue i suppose, since after i flashed and original firmware, the reboot problem hasn't gone
any heads up i need to know before i install any custom rom or so? i am planning to buy an s5 but scared to make mistakes again.
are there any apps to test the hardware issues?
Thanks and regards

samsung s5 stays on samsung logo

hello everyone, i have a problem with my s5, after custom romming it it wont boot to the stock because it stays on the samsung flickering logo, any idea on why? its using a cheap battery
I'm experiencing the same issue on my not rooted G900F (Italy) and I'm stuck, waiting for any advice.
Not sure if it was due to a custom firmware though, since I stopped using it many years ago...
I also tried hard reset and any wipe options available.
Thanks in advance.
