A problem with RTL support. - General Paranoid Android Discussion

There are a few problems that I would like to note here, hopefully if the developers are reviewing this thread. Regardless this rom is awesome
1. There is no a left quick swipe of the status bar for quick toggles, only the right part of the status bar works. This can be handy for left people and RTL users and can be integrated par with the on-the-spot perference.
2. Pie controls have a problem when using RTL as well as using AM/PM, the digits are displayed on top of each other.
3. The default navbar for RTL is: back button on the right and multitask on the left. On pie however it's the other way around, which works good for latin languages but not for RTL as it's easy to get confused.
I added 2 screenshots for a more clear insight about what I'm talking about.
Thanks in advance

Annoyances/Bugs in Samsung Jelly Bean (DLH7) update

To be honest, I really love this update. So many new things! Made me feel like I have bought a new phone all over again. But there are a few issues..
1- Grey statusbar. Why Samsung changed it from black? God knows why
2- Background in the toggles panel in "Notification pull-down", [not the color of toggles itself]. It feels so out of place. The color doesn't match Touchwiz color scheme.
3. WiFi has very slow speed, and can't maintain connection. <<< this is the killer bug for me!
4. Browser will force close (FC) when users try to go to bookmark selection.
5. Help app is very weird. The "step-by-step" guide (e.g for WiFi) is pointing to the wrong location. This is maybe caused by the major changes that Samsung has done to the Settings app. If this bug is still present in final release, then many people will complaint, especially the non-technical one. Samsung made that "easy home screen mode" for a reason, to help those new smartphone users. That "Help" app was supposed to go hand-in-hand with the new Home screen mode.
6. Phone will vibrate even though there is nothing happening, no notification whatsoever.
-Possible causes are WiFi error, and apps FC.
7. New widgets (the white one) are great, only that it doesn't match the color scheme of the old widgets.
-Most of old widgets are in black, e.g Music player, FM radio, Mono Audio, Negative colours. The new widgets, e.g Dialer, Favorite apps, Favorite contacts, Favorite settings, Messaging and Simple alarm clock widgets are all in white. Only two of the new widgets retain the black color scheme of the old widgets, which are the "turn off all sounds" and the "smart switch" widgets.
8. AC charging is very slow, did not test USB charging but some users said it's slow too.
9. Battery draining.
-This might be caused by mediascanner that's constantly running in background, and scanning without stopping.
-Other possible cause is the random vibration bug (point #6) which makes the phone awake so often.
10. Touchwiz is very unstable.
-Sometimes, folder will not close and stays on every homescreen I go (sorta like Pop Up Play).
-Seldomly, app shortcut (or icon or whatever you want to call it) will be replaced with an invisible icon that takes up space. Touchwiz will FC if I try to put an app shortcut to that empty space.
I might add more when I found it, I'm using Omega v16.1. Hopefully this post will help someone, especially those who want to upgrade but can't make up their mind whether they should or not, and not to forget Samsung development team (damn you cunning bastards, LOL!) :silly:

Didn't anyone told you it is not an official/final "update"? it's a leaked firmware and not really an update. and why create another thread when there are several threads out there discussing LH7? these listed bugs are known.

Relax, man. I labeled this thread with very specific title, to discuss bugs in Samsung DLH7 update. The fact that I mentioned "bugs" means I know the rom is still not an official rom, that is leaked to public. You gained nothing by being a prick in the online world.

I know about both fixes because I have been reading posts in Omega thread discussing the latest custom rom (Omega v16). I just want to make a thread with all bugs I found (that shouldn't need fixing in the first place), so that it will give others (that is still on ICS rom but wants to try JB rom) some kinda warning, before flashing.

Also maybe point to the already present solutions to the browser and WiFi bug and show the positive aspects as well, like the smoothness etc.

Since its a beta, bugs are expected. However, I feel that LH4 and LH6 were much better than LH7. LH7 is bit slower and ram leaks. Also I don't like that why voice commands are merged into s-voice again.
Not got an opinion on leaked test roms that are not the final build .

i think the random vibrations seem to be events like wifi connecting and disconnecting. it took me a while to figure that out.
also seems to be a bug with the gmail notifications. when you collapse the notification it shows the text as partially is cut off instead. not quite sure how to explain it. but it was working properly in LH6.
they are either changing a lot of things and testing, or they keep doing things which ends up breaking something else.

[Q] Paranoid Android 3+: Can I display status bar with Pie Controls?

I'm really digging Paranoid Android and the extended dekstop mode... That being said, I really miss my status bar. While the Pie control is a fantastic replacement for the bottom control bar, it's much less functional and efficient when it comes to displaying information and notifications.
I miss seeing my time, reception and notifications all the time.
I'd like to get the best of both worlds - Pie Control, with a Status Bar, but so far I haven't had any luck with settings. Is this possible at this point at all?

Yep, just set navbar to 0% in hybrid properties>interface>workspace
Just FYI, the paranoid android team is working on improving the pie so notifications show up as a "tickler" even in pie mode

I must be missing something. I set navbar to 0% as instructed, but the status bar still doesn't show up.
Also, I would like to have a customizable PIE control. There is currently no way to add buttons to PIE. When I'm on AOKP, I always add two buttons to the navbar - menu and search. The menu button is very handy as I can hit it and it shows "Nova Settings" and "System Settings," the two setting menus I use very frequently.
While the search button is on PIE, the menu isn't. Unfortunately, I can't live without it.
[EDIT] Nevermind... you do allow the menu button to show up in PIE. The position can't be changed, but it's a lot better than I mistakenly thought. Sorry!
Make sure not to enable expanded desktop if you're just trying to hide the navbar, if you just set the navbar to 0% it'll hide it and you won't need expanded desktop.
And make sure to press the "apply" button.
Forgot it myself ^^

Yeah, but now the second ring (date, time etc) never shows up. Any ideas what I'm doing wrong ?
I posted this in another thread a while ago but didn't get an answer.
Is there a way to get the Notification bar AND the notifications in the PIE format too? Let me explain. Right now, I have full-screen PIE controls and in the settings I have the Pie type set to "Quick" which brings up the notifications right when Pie gets activated. I really like that functionality and I want to keep it. Is there any way to get that when using the above-posted solution? I can get the Notification bar and Pie controls just like what was posted, but I also want the notifications to pop up when I activate Pie. Anyone get that to work?

Had the same problem as I switched back from using JellyBam to Paranoid Android. As the Paranoid Settings are persistent on the SD card I figured that was where the problem was. I had set the Nav bar to 0% in the Paranoid Settings as that was the only way to hide it in JellyBam, which meant that upon launch already it was set like that. My Pie menu was also not displaying the second ring, however when I set the Nav bar back to 100% and then enabled Expanded Desktop it all of a sudden started working again.
I'm not sure if it was because of the change in the Nav bar size or that I played with the different layouts, but it made the Pie menu work as per usual again. One more thing to mention is that despite where I had tried to set the Pie gravity to before doing all this it never took effect, even after a restart. Now all is fine again.
So play with your layout setting (tablet, phablet, phone) and then set them back to your preferred ones and see if that works.
I know it's most likely not exactly your scenario but am hoping that somehow this helps.

Hey guys I just flashed paranoid android and I can't get my status bar to come back with these instructions.. any advice? This is driving me nuts.
used paranoid android for a month.
I used paranoid android for a month on my note 2, and from my short experience I know messing with it's settings kinda sucks... I would recommend taking the nav bar to 0%. And then to download LMT launcher and put it in the bottom of the screen. Don't forget to leave full screen mode. Hope I helped :cyclops:

[ROM] or [MOD] for [VZW] Humble Requests

First off...many thanks to ALL you devs who have already contributed and will contribute in the future. Your work is necessary as phone manufacturers ship less than perfect handsets. You guys truly make these products sooooo much better.
From what I've been gathering...a number of folks would like some of these ideas listed added to this wonderful phone. Donations shall be in order of course for all the hard work.
- The ability to hide the ever present location "bullseye" Icon
- Replace the battey icon with a custom one (I always thought that multicolored round one with the percent in the middle was coooooollll), or shrinking the stock percentage and placing it on top the battery.
- Bottom speaker gain control
- knock off works if you tap the empty area of the home-screen in a 3rd party launcher (the stock ui sees it as one big app, which is why it won't work unless you double tap the top status bar.)
- Keeping the top status bar and the lower nav buttons transparent in 3rd party launchers (the stock ui again sees it as one big app, rendering the bars opaque)
- Black or gray theme for settings menu....the white is a bit harsh.
- Double tapping the home nav button brings up LG Voice Mate...or that voice control LG app thingy.

How about removal of the AM/PM please and location icon (as was mentioned)
What kind of bottom speaker control are you asking for?
I support the dark settings theme.
At least you can change the navbar to be black instead of white, and the settings menu to be tabbed instead of one gigantic list. I was worried during initial reviews when they said you couldn't change those.
I'd like to add - ability to customize navbar to add other button types, or at least the customization of the navbar hold-n-drag options (currently holds voice search, Google Now, and something else).

customizable knock patterns! like 2 knocks for skipping a track, change wake up to 3 knocks, etc.

Why buy the G2 if all you want is AOSP? You might as well have waited for the N5.. I don't understand why people buy a phone that has some pretty cool features, only to flash AOSP and lose most of it... I get that a lot of what the G2 does can be built into AOSP with different apps but i guess I'm the only one who buys the phone for the experience that was intended by the manufacturer.
Ok guys, was able to make many things and tested them too! Need to fix a few things. Its 4 am here,by 11am i will make a new thread in themes section

Any Status Bar expander working on Lollipop?

Really miss being able to click my shortcut (app: status bar expander) or indeed swiping on my home screen (nova) to pull down the Status Bar
Since Lollipop upgrade neither works any more
Gave me easy one hand use ...now I have to fumble around in order to reach the top of the screen to pull it down
Any pointers?
Thanks!
Working method (tested today) is to use the BETA Nova Launcher app. In this version the swipe down gesture is OK.
Try: novalauncher.com/beta/
One of the many reasons for downgrading from Lolliflop to KitKat again. This sucks big time indeed!
Just found out that MyHomeButton actually works. Unfortunately not the standalone app by the same developer.
All other developers don't seem to be in a hurry to update their apps. They blame it on Samsung because of changing the shortcuts.
If this is as important to you as it is to me, it would be helpful to contact the developers. They need to know that there is a problem to be solved as soon as possible.
I have provided feedback to both Nova and Status Bar Expander
Nothing yet...
So let's hope for the best! ?
Nova just released an update which fixes this -I can swipe down from any home screen to unfurl the Notifications ...no more straining to reach up there
Yep, some apps are catching up at the moment, but still: no stand alone app!

Damn sorry but thnx
Just played with all kinds of settings. Didn't find a single thing that didn't work. Very nice. No option to put the clock on the right side, but I'll set for a centered clock for now. Ran it that way sometimes back in the old CM days anyway, so it doesn't bother me so much.

Make sure you're on the latest GravityBox [P] release, then:
Statusbar tweaks > Clock settings > Clock position (don't forget Clock position in header for the notification shade)
There is in fact an option to move the clock back to the right side.
I'm getting this within xposed

When I posted that comment almost a month ago, there was in fact not an option to do that... lol. I brought it up to the developer though, and he added it in.
