I have a problem with my Samsung S4 i9505. It was locked on SFR (france) network.
After unlocking my phone doens't connect to anything else than 2g (I think). I don't know exactly which network because next to my battery icon is displayed H+ but the download is very bad.. (maxim 407kbs).
I exchanged my sim card and nothing. I put my card to another phone and the speed is around 6-7 mb/s. ( which is normal for 3g networks).
Did anyone encountered something like this ?

I installed Liquid Smooth, and another AOSP rom and the mobile data speed is back to normal.
Any ideea why is this happening with original ROM?

right now I am on GoldenEye, but still the problem persist.
If I reinstall AOSP what should the command above will do ?
I have to say that I am on 4.4.2 bootloader and I have knox flag set to 1. Is this a realy bad thing ? Could this make problems on mobile data ? To limit the data to 2g ?
I found the solution.. It was me...
For every stock ROM my APN settings were wrong. For AOSP roms, the APN was correct. I checked the APN settings on the AOSP rom but not on the stock rom.
I feel silly...
APN was set to Orange-WAP so that's were the speed of maximum 400kbps was from.

I got a friend's Y that doesn't have any signal or service with a working SIM. It only displays an X on top of the empty signal bars. I configured it's APN, and flashed another modem , but it's still doesn't work. Any help will be appreciated.

Try some troubleshooting. Test his sim on another phone and see if it works there.
Is he on a custom rom? Creeds Rom 3.4 had a bug where you cant see the signal even though it has a signal. Can he still send messages even when signal bar is X?
Also, APN wont do anything for the signal, its only for mobile internet browsing with your carrier. Hmmm... are you talking about surfing through your carrier? or basic services like calls and texts?

Thanks for replying! It's running creed's v2. When you try to place a call it says "Mobile Network not Available". I tried his SIM card on an unlocked Atrix 4G and it made a call successfully. Texting doesn't work either. He said when he had this problem he took it to some unlock/repair shop and they failed to state what exactly was causing this.

If all else fails, go back to stock rom or try another rom
(Though I suggest latest stock rom with merruk kernel and superuser opened)

I flashed the ROM below, after i flashed it, booted up then i installed merruk 2.0 final. Did the airplane mode, but it still doesn't work. The APN looks fine. I really don't know what's causing this.

Flash all 3 part (PDA, MODEM, CSC)
If it does not help, then send me your bml15.img.SAVE (made by Galaxy Toolbox)
hey pal i also encountered this kind of problem before after patching Creeds ROM. What i did was I reflash the rom with stock Galaxy Y via ODIN or after the first successful boot of selected customize ROM. then you will need to apply the CSC depending on what network your country has. like mine i choose either from SMA/GLB/XTE. just dial #272* IMEI code. ok here it is. i've flashed various roms but don't really know what everything is, i just followed all those insturctions but never bricked my device..
I live in China, use 3g mobile internet, my phone is korean note2(shv-e250l), use slimkat 4.4.2 nightly, bandwidth MI1, kernel thor 2.9.
i've been using these for about 1 month, and there was not any big problems, except that it feels like my signal strength or internet speed isn't as good as stock rom
but yesterday, when I hung up after calling my friend, all of sudden my phone can't read my sim card, so i reboot the device, and my mobile network doesn't work, and i reboot again, finally everything works.
after that, everytime i call someone my phone goes stupid and i have to reboot it twice.
and I started to wonder, does my bandwidth need to be updated? can I use newest stock rom's bandwidth?
newest stock rom of korean note2 is NA1, will using its bandwidth solve my problem?
if it does the magic, how do i apply bandwidth of NA1 to my phone?

I recently bought a Galaxy S4 337M that was rooted and loaded with a custom ROM. I decided to go back to stock so went to sammobile.net and got the latest rogers firmware for my galaxy S4 (which they said was 4.3).
I loaded with ODIN, all went well, rebooted stock, but the max signal icon I can get now is 4G (even though I used speedtest and am getting close to LTE download speeds I think). Any idea why my LTE is gone ? Did I download the wrong ROM ?
I also noticed that none of the APN settings were there and no rogers apps were installed either. Makes me wonder if it was indeed a stock rogers rom after all.
Another strange thing is that it shows me a bell canada navigator update is available in the google play store, yet its not even on my phone. Regardless, even if its a Bell ROM by some chance, Bell Canada has LTE as well, so I am confused.
Btw I used the standard ltemobile APN settings that I always use on all my phones to get LTE (that always work)....
Any help or suggestions would be really appreciated, thanks so much !!!
My iPhone shows LTE using the same SIM...

I believe that all I337M uses that same firmware but you need a CSC changer to make it change to your carrier as they don't release the specific ones with the carrier apps.
Search "Samsung CSC" in the play store and you should get one.

Seems I need root - which I deleted when doing a factory restore.
The strange thing is that it was supposed to be a rogers based firmware that I downloaded and flashed.
Maybe something went wrong in the flash.
Will try again.

i have a bell i337m and i have the same issue when flashing from a "custom rom to stock" and i have to flash the firmware using odin a second time and than i get my LTE icon enstead of the 4G icon, sounds weird and i can't explain why it takes 2 flashes to get it to show up proper, but it does.
i also have the problem with missing phone vendor apps, the second flash also makes these show up too.
also another thing i noted about my phone is if i don't root and install recovery to wipe, odin will dirty flash my roms, even though odin is supposed to wipe it isn't.
i've tested this to no ends, the results are 100% the same everytime.

After flashing the stock Rom, go back into stock recovery and wipe data and cache, then reboot that should fix it. To fix your csc issue there is a way to do it by dialling a number on your dialpad which includes your imei number then you choose a specific code. Search for it, google

It's frustrating because I specifically selected a Rogers S4 ROM from Sammobile.net. Any idea where I can get a stock rogers ROM for s4? Also do you think this may have affected my 4G/LTE issue ??

follow this guide, http://www.droidviews.com/how-to-change-csc-in-samsung-galaxy-phones/ real easy, itll put you back to a rogers rom, all the firmwares on sammobile are BELL ROMS. you have to change the CSC yourself.

1. I bought my phone (xcover 2 GT-S7710L) in the states, and when I brought it back with me to Israel, the internet doesn’t work properly. It's very slow, and shows only "G", not 3G, H or H+ like it should. Is there anything that can be done? A new modem?
2. I tried to update it do KK (from JB), and it wouldn't recognize the sim at all. Perhaps it's because I got a rom for S7710 and not S7710L (?) - do you know about a rom that supports the device? I've tried both Vanir and CM11, with no success.

The KK rom (for GT-S7710) i've flashed made the phone pretty useless - sim not working at all.. I manged to flash the JB stock rom, and it is back as it used to be - low speed internet, and a working sim card.
Just wondering if someone might be able to help. I've had on CM12.1 before but decided to give Imperium 12 a try on my Fido Canada / Samsung S4 (i337h rooted) Everything seemed pretty awesome,stable and good battery life. I'm usually on Wifi but then I tried using LTE data and realized mobile data does not work! I've looked under APN etc and on a matching S4 (with stock s4 samsung rom we also own) it looks identical, it just wont work on mine. What would be a good place to start? is there a logfile somewhere I could check? is there a special # to dial to check APN connection etc?
Is the phone running an up-to-date modem and bootloader?
