Best Buy Deal - Galaxy Note 10.1 (2014 Edition) General

Sorry if already posted, didn't see it in first few pages.
Anyway, got my note 10.1 Saturday and it's awesome. I gave my note 8 to my son. Best Buy has a deal right now I didn't see advertisement for. If you sign up for Verizon wifi service with certain Hotspot modem, don't remember which now I'll have to search, and buy the note 10.1 you will get $200 rebate check. Not bad if you need portable wifi.

*(NO CONTRACT!!)* T-Mo Galaxy SII $299.99 @ Walmart

http://slickdeals.net/f/5048656-T-Mobile-Galaxy-S-II-No-Contract-for-299-Walmart
taken from slickdeals.net
"T-Mobile Galaxy S II No Contract for $299 @ Walmart
Available at Walmart Wireless locations now:
T-Mobile No-Contract Galaxy S II for $299 with activation of one of the following:
T-Mobile Prepaid Monthly 4G - $30 and up monthly
Walmart Family Mobile Activation ($25 activation kit which includes SIM card)
Details:
Existing Walmart Family Mobile customers can apparently still get the $299 deal. Existing Monthly 4G Customers cannot get the deal, however they can activate the new phone and should be able to call in to transfer their previous account info into the new account.
I'll be answering questions here (also on the page linked below). Walmart does have these, look at the photos on the page. Ask someone competent in the Walmart Connection Center and ask if they have them in stock. They got the update on their computers last week on the deal and how it works. Stores received them between August 8th through the 13th - some earlier.
Source:
http://www.thatsitguys.com/news/t-mobile-galaxy-s-ii-goes-prepaid-at-walmart-349
Adding this to clear up questions
There seems to be a lot of incorrect assumptions on here as well as a lot of misinformation being given. Let me clarify everything. Also, it would be worth reading the info listed in the source.
This deal works ONLY at Walmart stores back in the Connection Center. Stores should have received them and should have the info tags posted next to their Walmart Family Mobile display. There are no additional discounts or rebates available on this. The Galaxy S II is $570 outright, so you are effectively getting this phone for $270 off already.
There are two separate ways to attain the Galaxy S II for $299:
¤ Activate a Walmart Family Mobile account. This will require a $25 activation kit, which includes your WFM SIM card. For more info on that, view the source. Existing customers of WFM should be able to get this deal after confirming their account.
¤ Buy the Prepaid variant - aka, the T-Mobile Monthly 4G Pink Box. This includes the Prepaid SIM card in the box, which they will activate for you. You must get a monthly plan valued at $30 and up.
Not all stores have these phones yet, but that has to do with their ordering system and their competence."
Not bad at all, at that price its kinda just better to get the Gnex though. To each his own though.

Agree with you there.. Galaxy Nexus is a way better phone (IMO) for only $50 more.. and its unlocked so you are not limited to WFM or T-mobile. You could use StraightTalk if you wanted.. which is what I use..
This offer on the S2 is still a good opportunity, special since its the only Decent phone available for Prepaid customers (WFM is prepaid too)
(hunting a deal on the Galaxy Nexus, need one for the girlfriend )
Also of note is in Canada the same version of the SII (just minus t-mobile branding) is available for $300 with a $100 gift card from Koodo or $150 on their tab
i wish I could find the Dam phone,I've been to 2 Wally World stores..no luck
I probably will go buy one at koodo.

I went ahead and grabbed one of these for a couple of reasons. I really wanted a risk free way of trying out Tmo $30.00 plan and the Galaxy Nexus is $80.00 more for me in Cali after shipping and tax.
Since these are going for more on the local CL I can try out the service and then break even when I sell it.
It's going to be interesting carrying my Gnex and the S2 around at the same time. Both are pretty good sized phones!

Already Pre-Oredered my Galaxy Note II GT-N7100

I placed my pre-order for my Galaxy Note II at MobileCityOnline already. It's the same price I paid for my GT-N7000 last October and from the same source. So far they're the only vendor I found (from my search of the web) even offering/accepting pre-orders for the Note II.
They've always been a great place to buy anything mobile. This will be my 4th phone from them and they really are incredible. You get good prices, great service, and most of all - fast & FREE shipping plus I don't get stuck with all those BS taxes that would've been added on if I bought from a nearby B&M store. I've never had a problem with them, ever.
I'm not trying to sound like a commercial and NO I don't work for them, I don't work at all, but they're the real deal. The only thing that sucks are the price drops after a few months but that's what goes with being an early adopter. After almost a year the GT-N7000 is still commanding $550 which really isn't bad, it's buying accessories that suck. I'm sticking with just the necessary items this time like just one case, screen protectors, and maybe spare battery.
If anyone finds a better deal please share and pass it on in here so we ALL can take advantage of the deal and save some cash.
Almost a grand a year on a smartphone is crazy - not including the phone and data services - is getting old FAST! I'm sticking with this 5.5", Exynos Quad-Core for a while despite getting the same GPU with it. This beast should handle anything I intend on using it for.
***Update***
I'm here now to officaially eat crow - after having been told story after story I have decided to go with Handtec simply because the good nature another member - you know who you are - I even have my FedEx tracking number. Come Tuesday I'll be smokin' on my GT-N7100 after all!
For how much will they have it?
I want one too, but I need to sell my Note 1 first.
Can't justify that to the wife.
They're asking $699 FREE shipping, NO TAXES, and your card isn't charged until it leaves MobileCityOnline's warehouse. Really at this point you can't lose since most vendors price gouge ANYONE who ever pre=orders!
Good luck selling your GT-N7000. I'm handing mine down to wife who's still stuck on an Sprint EVO 4G. Happy hunting and good luck - if you find a better deal could you please share it here
I'm no John D. Rockefeller, but, I can tell you this, if you find it less at some other vendor do your homework before you buy from anyone!
***as a family we've decided 2 give our still incredible smartphones 2 those serving our country***
Just sold my old note 1 yesterday! €300 for a 9 months old phone! Can't wait for the new note 2.

I'm going to get the second note, but I'm not in a rush at the moment. So I'll wait for their October release and then get it in November. I am still enjoying my original note . hehe.
Oh! EDIT! I Thought I'd add that if a Nexus device comes out with 5 inches or more I'd probably get THAT just for the updates.

Per ordered the note 2 with mobilecityonline as other sites were charging from 725 to 750...I live in Canada and the shipping is only 29 so it's only 729 with shipping and no taxes
HK is releasing them very soon, and shipping very soon. already priced at 677USD
There is nothing wrong with a pre order thread.
I don't believe there is a confirmed released price yet, so it doesn't matter where you pre order from yet. All prices are subject to change.
Sent from my GT-N7000 using XDA Premium HD app
I'm not even sure there are confirmed specs yet, lol. What is the advantage to ordering it this early?
That having been said, I don't think he's trying to sell it, he's just ordered this way in the past and hasn't regretted it, so I'm sure he won't this time.
It seems as though the AT&T version should be out fairly soon (like with the SGS 3), and the specs might actually be as good or better, so I'm gonna try to wait for the subsidized version. Especially since I can probably sell this one for as much as AT&T will be asking for the new one.

The advantage is, if you decide you want it, you'll be first in line to get one.
And of course, if you don't, you can always cancel at anytime.
It depends on a lot of things, but ordering something on release day can mean a hefty wait
while preorders get filled.

I wish one for me !!!! ♥
To those who obviously CANNOT READ -I clearly stated I DON'T WORK, I'm disabled...so I clearly am NOT - got it - NOT drumming up business for anyone in anyway. I'm simply sharing what I believe to be important money saving information. My comments are from my experiences with MobileCityOnline.
Also, FYI, last year when I pre-orded from MCO this same price was posted for my current Galaxy Note. Interestingly, 2 or 3 weeks they happened to raise the price of the GT-N7000 by almost $100. MCO did a ballsy thing, they honored the pre-ordered price. For me personally they earned my loyalty. I'll never buy an unlocked and international smartphone from anyone else!
From that point on whoever either P-O or @ the time ordered, since they received stock were stuck with the higher price PLUS had to pay for shipping. The free shipping was part of the P-O package. So to all those who ask what are the advantages of pre-ordering I say there are plenty of reasons. Your reasons may not be the same as mine but the fact remains there are definitely advantages of doing so.
Now to the morons who can't seen to get a grip with the fact I do not work for MCO in any capacity - I say if you have nothing nice to say don't say anything at all. I'll gladly provide proof of why I am disabled in the form of pictures showing the zippers I received from the 22 surgeries that caused my situation which are personal anyway. But to shut you up is gladly do whatever out takes to back up any words that come out of my mouth.

Using disability money to buy new phones every year while earning some side cash by being a shill.
Our tax dollars hard at work it looks like.
Ya know.. I would first figure out what or how he got disabled before making a comment like that. In fact.. I wouldn't make a comment like that at all. Imagine if he was a decorated vet.. someone who bled for the country.
Again.. not knowing who familyman's story.. but just making some observations.

Costco selling Bundle for 32GB $579 (Now $529!)

Just fyi. Its great that Costco is doing this because if you do decide to purchase through them you will have a 90 day return period no questions asked rooted or not. Cheers!
Edit:
Bundle comes with a
-Black version 32GB Note 10.1 2014
-Official Samsung pouch that converts to a stand.

$579 is not really much of a price break,, especially for Costco where items tend to be significantly cheaper than their competitors. I was hoping to see at least a $50 discount (10%).
Oh well.

Just bought a brand new white Note 10.1 2014 Edition 16GB on eBay for $519 and no tax. The seller has over 10,000 transactions with 99.9% positive feedback. Added a SquareTrade 2yr Accidental Damage warranty for $99 and I'm set. I preferred the black model, but it's going to be in a case. So the color was not a deal breaker by any means.
Now, I need a decent case and a 64GB micro SD card.
I picked one up at costco on the 6th. I wouldn't really call this a bundle. The pouch is pretty mediocre, the price is just okay, but the return policy is awesome and I didn't have to wait for it or go to best buy.
If anyone else bought this puppy at costco, can you explain how the pouch converts to a stand? I can't figure it out. The best I've been able to do is make a bump out of it and I don't think I would ever try to rest the tab on it; it would most likely just slip off of it. I pretty much just use it as a sort of placemat under it when I put it down. It's not even good as a pouch.
The note itself is pretty cool, though and I don't really mind not getting much of a price break. Sammy still hasn't sent me the code for the perks though. That kind of ticks me off. The serial number and the mac address don't match and it's taking them forever to deal with it. If they don't get their act together pretty soon I might just bring it back and wait for them to go on sale. It would be a shame though, this one has no issues that I've noticed yet. No screen bleed, build quality is excellent. Battery life could be better and there is a little lag but I can live with that. Oh well.

Well you have 90 days from when you purchased it at Costco so I'm sure something will happen by then. I too have yet to receive the code. I even had it escalated through live chat 3 days ago and was told that I should be receiving the code through email today. Nothing yet so far so I'm sure I'll be talking to Live Chat once again. Regarding the Pouch as a stand? My mistake it doesn't stand the tablet up at all. It's more of a way to set it down on an angle for typing maybe? But I agree not much of a bundle but we did save some money for a 32GB model. I purchased a Poetic slim case for $9.99 @ Amazon with Prime shipping. It looks great and now well protected. Very happy I bought this tablet.

Smart purchase with the Poetic case. I had a similar case from another brand for my old Motorola Xoom. So I decided to buy the Poetic Slimline.
Has anyone seen this in a southern California store? I looked at my local Costco in orange county and they only had the old one and the note 8.

Keep checking. I'm sure it will come that way. Costcos here carry them (Washington State).
Update: Finally received my Code perks! It took about two weeks but finally here. I now just registered my second Note 10.1 2014 unit for perks as well. Unfortunately I also had to speak with live chat agent regarding errors during registration. I was told I should be receiving my perks within two days.... more like 2 weeks. At least now I know it will be coming.

Still nothing at my local Costcos which are only pushing the Note 8 and Tab 3.
Personally, I bought brand new 16gb version on eBay from a reputable seller located in New York on December 13th and had it in my hands in Southern CA on the 23rd (even with the UPS delays). For potential buyers, you may want to consider this option, though only buy from a reputable seller.
I bought mine from Costco in early Dec for $579. It is interesting though, the store I went to had a whole stack of them, but no other Costcos in the Detroit area had any. When you check for them you may want to have them search all the Costcos in the area.

Just at my local Costco today and noticed that they lowered the price from $579 to $529. If you purchased yours within 30 days of this change in press you can get back the difference or just simply return it and get another one since you have 90 days return policy.

Costco refund
I paid 579 for mine. I saw they now had it for 529. I went in and got 50 refund. I think this refund time is for 90 days. Just offer to either return it or get the difference and they will always give you the difference.
We have 3 Costco's here and only one has ever had the Note 2014. The other two never have it. They have it online, but the price is higher.
The pouch is pretty worthless. If it can be a stand, I have on idea how that would work.

Yes as a stand I agree it's worthless, it's more like a way to have an angle when you rest it on a flat surface for typing maybe? I was told from an employee if you purchased before the price change, you have 30 days from the start of the reduced price to refund you the difference. Your safety night of course is the 90 day return policy.

Tablet Insurance

Hello all, I am looking into getting insurance for my note. I have never had tablet insurance, and was wondering if anyone has any recommendations, or would like to share their experiences.
Thanks!

I am happy with square trade. Just got a refund from my nexus 10 policy after dropping it and cracking the screen. Went and bought a note pro yesterday to replace it

Awesome! I have heard good things about square trade. How do you like the pro?

The note 10 and the pro are both incredible tablets. I still have both right now, lol. Picked up the note 10 first assuming the 12 would be too big for me, but the 12 looked so darn cool in the store... I went back yesterday and picked one up so I could try it before deciding which one to go with. The 12 does take a little adjusting to, but I love it. It isn't too heavy, using the pen with it is a blast, and once that logitech keyboard comes out for it, it will be a great little laptop replacement. I think the 10 is going be the one that goes back.

Shop around for SquareTrade as places like amazon, New egg, Tiger direct and Square trade directly all have different prices for the same thing.
Best Buy and Walmart even have protection plans.
Here is a coupon code xv781j for 35% off at SquarTrade directly up to a max. discount of $35.00.
Try costco

Scope out Costco for their SquareTrade policies. I just bought one for my Note 10.1 2014 for $49.99. (It's good for cameras and tablets from $300-750 ... and you do NOT have to have purchased your device from Costco.). It's the best price I've found for a 2 year all-inclusive policy. Just my 2¢

That is a great deal but..........
I just got this from there web site.
This service plan is exclusive to Costco Members. You must purchase the new tablet or camera from a Costco Warehouse or from www.costco.com. Other terms and conditions apply.*
How the SquareTrade Service Works
Service plan must be purchased within 30 days of purchasing the tablet or camera in-store. If the tablet or camera is purchased online at Costco.com, then the service plan must be purchased within 30 days from receipt of tablet or camera.
I just got a 30% off coupon for a squaretrade warranty if anyone is interested. I bought my Note from Amazon so it was cheaper to just buy the squaretrade warranty straight from amazon.
I have several ST 30% off codes if needed... Just PM me and i'll hook you up.

I got my ST warranty a couple of weeks ago. I spent HOURS looking on line and trying a zillion codes that were posted. Each one said "this code has already been used". Amazon....YOU MUST BUY YOUR DEVICE FROM THEM FOR THE ST WARRANTY TO BE VALID. I have it first hand from Amazon and ST. Finally I called ST and said "listen, I've spent hours looking for a code that works. Is there anyway you would consider offering me a code?" "Sure, no problem". So after a few minutes he came back with a 30% code he generated for me. Just call them and ask for one

I've not had an issue with SQ for something like this in the past.
