[Q] WhatchON - Galaxy Note 3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey guys!
I have a qiestion about WhatchON.
I have a VIVAX TV but WO doesn't have that TV.
I was wondering if I can manually insert IR codes.
I saw that feature on HTC One. In their application you can manually insert/scan code using remote.
I hope you understand me.

Here's the app I use, I don't think you can manually program the codes though: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.remotefairy
It's easy to set up and customise, and supports a wide range of products. Couldn't reccommend it enough!?????
If the above app doesn't support the device your trying to use, you can try this: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=remote.control.samsung
I think this is more what your looking for, you can customise the IR codes to support your device. But it was a bit too involving for me and I prefer the first app I mentioned.
EDIT: Had a quick check and found this(did you mean Vimax):

No worries mate....
A while back I had a Teac TV and couldn't find the universal remote code for it. I found out it shared the same codes as certain LG models. Anyway I did a quick check for you, and apparently Vivax may share some of the IR codes as the brand Toshiba or Sanyo.
Have a check under Watchon again, and see if the Toshiba or Sanyo codes work for your TV?
Good luck.
Sent from my SM-N9005 using Tapatalk

I checked WatchOn and Smart remote. It have 40 codes for emerson but unfortunately they don't work. Thank you for your help.

Sorry man I edited my post. The emerson codes were for Vimax lol.
Vivax seem like a pretty obscure brand, I've never heard of them in Australia. There a little hard to find info for... I know this doesn't help, but if you've got the time you could try as many remotes(different brands) as you can until one hopefully works. In the mean time submit a support request for your tv on watchon if you haven't already. The first app I mentioned has a great support team and reply to emails in a very timely fashion.
I'm sorry thats all I can think of. Best of luck

After submitting a support request, here's the brands that may work for your Vivax:
Akura, Denver, Digitek, Fujicom, Prosonic.
Try them out and tell us if any of them work?
Full credit to Color Tiger, the devs behind the app: Smart IR Remote. If the above info worked, maybe you'd consider supporting them. I'm in no way affiliated with them, just pleased with their apps and support team.
Cheers

That's unfortunate!
I'm not familiar with HTC's learning function but a IR learning function would be a great addition to the IR blaster, featured on our Samsung devices. Definitely an area that could have a meaningful improvement, especially for other's with obsucure or no name electronics brands.
Oh well, you can't always get what you want?.

Hey dinc followed both your last two links successfully..... Hooray. Love both of them and I see that JaeKar has solved and answered your question. I know he will agree with me that especially concerning the 1st one it's such a pity that we can't incorporate sound in our A500 anims. Believe me both he and I have spent considerable time trying to solve this problem but with no success. Who knows maybe the upcoming ICS will let us.........but I'm not holding my breath
Thank you both for working on that and giving us a500 users something to show are evil cousins the ipad$.. My buddy has just bought an ipad2 and regrets his expensive verizon crap choice. He was just over and i was showing him the main differences between the 2 pads how ours has usb host port and hdmi. Now that a newish program just has been founded 5 million dollars, for which programers can now easy port games and apps to different android devices instead of writing each app for each device. I see a even more pleasurable experience with android in the coming future! Maybe now we wont need to worry about fragmentation of devices so much now all android devices will be able to run the same app with out developers running hours of working and tailoring for each system.

Nice find. Thanks for posting. It has Learning Hub so that's finally being released (at least in Germany). There's still no Reader's Hub or Social Hub. It also said "pen removed" in the quick settings so its got at least one of the Note 2's features ported over. If Google Now only works in portrait mode that will suck. It was fast and fluid but it had no apps or widgets running; the real test to see if there's a difference is when we all load it up with the crap we use everyday.
Yes I am pretty much expecting us to get JB and the full Note 2.0 treatment. Reason being that Samsung will want 10.1 owners to also own the Note 2 as our phone so the devices need to be highly compatible.
Also they probably don't want to deal with 10.1 owners *****ing them out 24/7.

Google Now works fine in landscape... at least it did on my Moto Xoom before upgrading to Note. That said, I didnt find Google Now anything to get all hot and bothered about.

This is what made me question it...
I also think it'll add more value on a 3G Note than a Wi-Fi because it'll be online all the time and Google Now can collect more behavioral info. I haven't used it yet so still don't fully understand what it does, how it does it, or why I need it.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

hello,
i have couple games that could use some review and rating, and just let me know if you also need the same.
here they are :
U_BO - 3 IN 1 : https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.k2.u_bo_x_ads or http://www.indiedb.com/games/ubo3in1.
JOLT : https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.k2.u_jolt_x_ads or http://www.indiedb.com/games/jolt.
i need some honest opinion, please.
thank you.
Sorry folks, trading reviews is not very honest and not in the spirit of true development, where free exchange of ideas and respectful contributions should be made. Using XDA to create this exchange is not very honest in that those who do not know XDA exists will get a false sense that all these apps are all 5.0....Let's be fair here, creating these "exchanges" is not really what XDA is for..
These threads will be summarily closed. So, use this thread and all the others here at XDA for their true intentions.
Thanks

Anyone using WINK app on WEAR?

Its very cool..you get WINK notifications and can set up shortcuts aka 'tasks' that you can control from your WEAR device.
However mine seems to 'lose' the WINK shortcuts every time i restart my phone or exit the WINK app on my phone. I'm hoping this is just a software issue that is being worked on.

We at CastleOS will be releasing on Android Wear support soon. The Wink app is pretty limited. Our app includes the ability to adjust lighting, thermostats, activate and deactivate scenes, and check sensor status. And best of all, everything is automatic, you don't need to manually create anything like shortcuts. Just install CastleOS from the Play store and you're good to go! CastleOS works with INSTEON, Z-Wave, UPB, X10, WeMo, Nest, Sonos, Ecobee, LightwaveRF, and more!

Oh the irony. We support dozens upon dozens (maybe hundreds) of more devices than Wink does, yet none of your devices are currently supported You'll have to wait for the December/January releases for those. We currently support the Z-Wave Honeywell thermostats, but not the WiFi ones yet (we had been waiting for the official API). GE Link is still new and we are in the process of building the interface for that, though we currently support INSTEON and Z-Wave bulbs, WeMo bulbs if they ever launch them, and Philips Hue color changing bulbs. Sorry about that, it will be worth the wait I promise!

A lot of us came from the Note7 and have the gear fit 2, has anyone set it up on the v20 and if so could you post a tutorial here? Or better yet make a how to thread in the news and guides section. Is there any place where all the different health apps are compared? We got SHealth, LG Fit, Google Fit... never mind dedicated apps like Runkeeper vs Runtastic (I don't know the difference between those either, except that I have used Runkeeper and not Runtastic).
I don't mind manually entering stuff. I don't really trust the calorie estimates on my Gear Fit 2, and I only use it to track steps, something I don't necessarily need aggregated. If I did need it aggregated, of course, I could probably be bothered to enter it manually if one app was markedly better.
I feel like all I'm seeing right now are just "22 best fitness apps" and they don't really care about apples-to-apples comparisons, even.
I don't use them so I wouldnt know. I just installed it to ensure it works lol

No problem. A lot of people were wondering. I have the Gear S2 classic, but I assume all Gear S2 would support the same thing since they are all the same OS and stuff.
