PLEASE someone help me... I cant believe this is happening - G2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Ok so i just bought a new lg g2 d801.
I unlocked it succesfully, then went on to root it succesfully using ioroot.
Then I tried installing twrp using freegee and it didnt work giving me comparable results to this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=50501346&postcount=867
so I went on to install it manually from terminal emulator (I installed the rogers version as suggested by another user here as this is exactly my situation: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=50502408&postcount=869
I followed this method for the code in terminal emulator:
su
dd if=/sdcard/recoveryfilename.img of=/dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/recovery
replacing "recoveryfilename" to the name of the rogers .img.
Now the phone just boots normally into the stock interface but it is all glitchy, no wifi, computer doesnt recognize it and then within about 1 minutes it boots into the lg logo with the "turning on" sound randomly and keeps doing that.
adb devices gives nothing. I cant browse the contents of it but it does seem to be interacting with the computer since it is saying "driver updating... etc."
Ahhhh not too sure what to do from here.
If anyone can guide me I will be infinitely grateful, so discouraged right now.
I just want to bring it back to stock, nothing valuable at all on it, I have had it for 4 hours.

U can do a factory reset and see how it goes. Go to settings > general> backup and reset> factory reset.
Sent from my LG-D802 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app

I cant access any settings.
Just says: Error
In a little black box. I can browse the menus but cant actually enter into the specific settings areas.
I did factory reset from twrp which is accesible, didnt help.
Thank you though, I would love more ideas!

In that case u should flash stock rom using a computer. Go through this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2432476

Ok im going to try using the lg mobile support tool
I went in usb mode holding the up key and inserting the usb cable.
Seems to be working, downloading a ~2gb file.
I will update.

All the best
Sent from my LG-D802 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app

of course my wifi cuts when the download is at 1443 of 1772 mb.
I think the gods have something against me today.
Should I cancel the download and start over? Doesn't seem to be picking up where it stopped.

Do you have any other option to resume ur download?
Sent from my LG-D802 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app

OK thank god it went through.
Installed the stock recovery succesfully.
Restored factory settings.
Still doing strange boot shutdowns randomly and wifi is not working. I cant access any settings.
It seems like there is rom compatibility issues or something.
What should my next step be?
Btw thank you so much for being here I really appreciate your help.

Did u flash the stock rom or just recovery?

Just recovery I think... I just let the lg mobile support tool do its thing
It was in the usb download mode.
Now I am planning on attempting what you linked. Only problem is that the flash tool links are not up to date and I cant fidn where to download it.

U should flash the whole stock rom, not just recovery, u will find all the necessary tools in the thread I mentioned

I cannot seem to find the flash tool. What is the path where the download is located?
Thanks again...

It's there in the first page of that thread

I am actually going slowly insane right now.
I have been sitting in front of my computer for over 8 hours trying to get this back to functional condition.
I followed the procedure exactly as detailed, when I press "upgrade start" I get this:
Please install CSMG B2C Client Tool" "Select tool ->B2C Client setup
Absolutely discouraging. I wish I could just talk with someone right about now. I am making no progress.
Phone keeps turning on all the way through til the homepage then off again. I actually cant keep it off. It turns on by itself.
adb devices is now recognizing it but it says "offline"
Ideas? Recommendations?
I really appreciate everything so far

Did u run that update tool before running the flash tool?

Thanks cccho. looking into this now looks like it could very well work.
I actually didnt even sleep last night. Havent done that in a long time, I figured I would manage to figure out by morning but I was not even close!
Much love to all who helped.
Hopefully this works.:good:
Actually I have a question... In your link they are using .tot files. I have only ever seen .kdz files for this purpose... Am I safe to follow the procedure with a stock .kdz file?
Thanks

Ok so I have managed to succesfully reinstall the original exact videotron firmware that the phone was running just one day ago.
There is something else going on. Its still rebooting every 10 seconds, whenever there is a text input prompt the cursor goes when I press within the box but the keyboard never appears. Wifi is non functional. Imei is saying "null" now whichI find extremely worrying...
Anybody heard of this before? I would really love to understand what is happening to this seemingly incredibly fragile phone.
Im about ready to toss it in the trash.
It seems like it has a virus or something.
Every now and then during the short glimpses of functioning it undergoes, there is a small grey box that appears near the bottom that says error.
It is not recognising my sim card either.
Please somebody help me out, I am willing to pay for help at this point.
Much love,
Zach
Also, I can never close/lock the screen. If I close it, its a guaranteed reboot. Every signle time. so for the phone to work screen has to stay on. 24 hours ago it was showing absolutely no signs of any of this

[Q] GT540 stuck on android screen HELP!!

Hi guy's
I have a few questions I'm really hoping someone could help or point me in the right direction..
I have looked for answers for a couple of days now when I had some free time but haven't found anything.
1. My brother's GT5-40 OPTIMUS is stuck on the android screen. Prior to it happening it was sitting idle. Would a hard reset fix this?
2. He would like to upgrade from 2.1 to maybe GB is it possible? And where can I find the correct thread to do this?
3. Is there anything I can do to optimize battery power?
I hate to annoy everyone with my questions but I'm new to this kind of thing I've only just started flashing my xu and exploring these things so don't have much to go on and would be grateful for any help at all.
Thanks for looking.

you don't provide much info , but first, can you get phone connected to pc ? (example in download mode)
if you can then flash from kdz update is possible. (use this tutorial : link , if no go then try different phonemodes in kdz updater)
Hi
I can get into download mode but nothing else. I tried to flash in kdz bit didn't work for me all the modems seem to sit idle. What other info would be helpful? Sorry I'm in unknown territory with this.
Sent from my ST25a using xda app-developers app
It's been over a year since I've used KDZ, but if not mistaken you have to use fastboot (power on while holding camera) with KDZ. If you can get into fb mode you can try to get KDZ to work. If the modems remain idle you may need to reinstall drivers. If you can get to fastboot you can resolve your problem. G'luck
Hi
Can't get into fb mode I did try a few times. I guess I've hit a wall with this.

fb is not visible , it apperas as black screen ,, but you can confirm that with cable connected to usb (in androidsdk : "fastboot devices" )
also, try that method : unplug usb from phone, power off device (eg. battery out, to be sure), put kdz updater ready, and then plug usb cable and immedetly start kdz updateing... (i remember, i've had same problem and then somehow i've got it working with that method)
also try several times.
also, i cant understand why kdz updater doesn't work in download mode , are you sure that u have all drivers installed correctly ? tried several modes in kdz updater ? (cs_emurdiance and etc.)
hani93
I'll give it a try and report back. I really appreciate this. Kdz didn't seem to work I will double check all the drivers etc and see if I've missed something.
Sent from my ST25a using xda app-developers app
So I tried fb mode, nothing like what you describe happens when I attempt to get into fb mode. I double check that all kdz drivers were there -one was missing so when I got that I was intact able to flash the phone, but it made no difference, I get the LG logo on start up then it goes to the android screen and no further. When I try fb mode following your instructions I get the boot up as described above, I tried it a few times but always the same result.

Try my script: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1856553
See if the device has fastboot on it, try Volume Up+Search+Power or Volume up+Camera+Power (Let go of power when powered up and let go of other buttons when in black screen or if it says 'Fastboot Mode').
You need to install the drivers, look on google.
If there is no fastboot then your only luck is Hyper Terminal and KDZ Updater. (KDZ Updater for flashing and Hyper Terminal for wiping (That is why the device will not boot))
And of course you need to be in download mode (VolDown+Power)

Yes Hyperterminal, you have to use it to wipe the data has KDZ does not help with it.

Right so use hyperterminal yo wipe the data then go ahead with the rest of it. I will try this method and see what happens, the only other thing is that I can't get into fast boot mode at all, I have tried lots of times and nothing happens, can I safely do this in download mode?

[Q] Bricked Help Please!

Hi - I have had my Nexus for several months and its been great, using nightlies from CM and nothing too exotic.
Anyway - the latest nightly completely messed up my phone, can't make calls etc, so I tried to flash it back to a stable release - the problems were still there.
Then I tried another CM - and I entered the CM symbol on loop - so I knew something was wrong.
So I try for the complete factory image reinstall, I wipe EVERYTHING from the phone so all I have now is a blank phone.
So I can get into bootloader - I can get into recovery - but I can't do anything as there are no files on the phone (so recovery doesn't help).
I downloaded the Google Nexus 4 Toolkit - and when I try and connect the phone via USB - it can't even locate it - the program says "Waiting for device".
I'm a bit lost here lads! Any help would be greatly appreciated!!
I'm not sure but similar thing happened to me with my S3, I was bricked for days, something I tried was UNrooting the device, completely wiping it clean with stock firmware and doing few other specific things for my device, maybe try flashing a stock Rom to get it alive again and once your into your device then you can flash whatever else you want, another good thing to do is always make a backup of your rom Inc efs files, but try this now you may be able to get the stock firmware from here or online, hope it helps

If you're using the tool kit there is an option to install the drivers. That should be the first thing you do. Try a different cable or port or PC until you get the right combination and fastboot sees the device. Good luck

You should be in fastboot mode while you're trying to install the drivers, but follow the instructions in the toolkit. It's pretty much idiot proof.

Did something stupid boots to twrp everytime.

Ok so I was tying to flash twrp recovery via flashify and I clicked on the first option to flash rom and selected my recovery and it said done pretty fast then rebooted and now i see the LG screen then jump straight to twrp everytime. I tried a factory reset and i tried to mount my storage so i could copy over my backup rom but it will not work. While im in twrp if i do reboot no matter what option it goes to twrp accept recovery which goes to a screen with a android figure in the middle. I don't want to screw it up any further so im not going to touch it till i get some opinions on what to do from here. I am downloading lg tool and flash and the stock rom kz file to see if it would let me do that. Also it seems my battery runs out like crazy and the only thing that lets me keep the phone on is using the original usb plug my other cables run out of battery quick. SO WEIRD

D801 bricked. No download mode.

Short version: phone won't boot, won't go into download mode, won't properly do a factory reset (tries but doesn't do it), need help.
Finally bricked my phone after tampering with it too much.
I was on the stock KK rom released by LG themselves, no root. Reverted back to the 10c firmware, OTA to 10g, rooted and installed TWRP - flashed a Vodaphone Germany KK ROM for the LG G2 because I heard it had minimal bloatware and no bluetooth wakelock unlike the KK version I was on for T-Mobile (my carrier). It had the touchscreen issue which I never experienced before. Tried multiple times to go back to any T-Mobile LG G2 ROM using the LG Mobile Support Tool - no dice. Uninstalled and reinstalled everything twice. So I figured, oh hey, I probably need to use the Vodaphone Germany JB.kdz file, root that, install TWRP, then flash back to the T-Mobile KK version that I had before. Seemed fool proof in theory. Used the LG Tool to do such, it finished smoothly and now my phone won't boot. It won't do a factory reset (it enters the factory reset mode and it attempts to do one but just reboots). It won't enter download mode either. I think I'm screwed here. Any advice?
I found 2 guides, but to even begin to do the first one I need my phone to enter fastboot mode and I can't find out how to do that anywhere.
you say Won't go into download mode? What happens when you try?
It just shows the first screen as it tries to enter download mode, with the blue dots. The screen that comes after that doesn't happen anymore. It used to switch to it after a few seconds and then the LG Mobile Support Tool could connect to the phone, but it can't anymore.

Didn't work for me. Windows and Ubuntu didn't recognize my phone. I actually ended up ****ing up my laptop by overwriting a partition but that's on me.
Decided to take it in to a T-Mobile store and blame it on the Kit Kat OTA. It turns on, doesn't boot, doesn't factory reset, doesn't fully go into download mode - how are they gonna know I ****ed it up? I have basic insurance on my plan because the JUMP program is tied into it. So for a little over $10 a month I just gained access to a warranty exchange of my device which is set to ship overnight. Can't wait. Huge stress reliever. I advise you take your phone into your carrier store and do the same as I did.

Help, I downgraded from 2.3 to 2.2 for various reasons, but now when I try to upgrade again I just get the pink screen ,if I try using the option from settings/storage,it says key data couldn't be backed up , the installation will stop. Hi there!
I think when you upgrade from software menu there is an option for data back-up.
Uncheck this option and the error should go away.
Also what do you mean with this: "Also if I boot into the system it runs fine for about a minute then locks up" ?
What do you mean it locks up? Touchscreen is not responsive for example?
My suggestions:
1) Do a factory reset and then check if you can upgrade
2) Try re-installing your recovery(use cwm 5.0.27 by geno for best compatibility) or even replace the whole image folder with the froyo one from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2146856
Your phone is not beyond repair that's for sure. Since it boots fine.

I haven't noticed an option for data backup, will check again later on. And yes when it locks up touch screen becomes unresponsive and none of the buttons respond either. Also when I try to enter recovery ,both custom and stock, it displays the kernel logo then vibrates with a black screen for a second then back to kernel logo and continues to boot.

Ok guys,I copied over the stock image folder and now it works ok, however I still can't upgrade from froyo. At least I can use it again though so thanks for your help, its much appreciated.
