I just want to sync my music - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshootin

Simple stuff. I am looking for a program that can sync my music everytime I plug in my S4...
All it literally has to do is sync music. It doesn't have to play it or even edit the music tags or information, it simply needs to sync to my S4 external SD card. I just point the program to the folder I want to sync to and it adds everything that isn't on the SD card. just like an iPhone
Any recommendations?

I use isyncr and itunes (blasphemy I know).
But it works well for me, I have it wireless sync on a schedule both ways (playcounts, ratings, playlists). Or you can have it sync over usb (gets annoying everytime I plug my phone into the computer though tbh).
You can use whatever android media player you want - needs to be itunes on the pc though.

Media Panel doesn't recognise playlists...

I deleted all of my music and incidentally, the playlists from my storage card and set the X1 up for autosync with WMP11. The music and the playlists went into directories on my storage card called "Music" and "Playlists". The playlists appear in the multimedia player accessed from the spb panel but do not appear in the sony media panel! I found out that if you create a playlist through the Media Panel, these gointo the device itself under "My Documents/My Music and these are not compatible with the media player versions - great!
Anyone know of a fix for this as I dont want to recreate all of my playlists so that I can use them in the media panel!
Regards,
Alan
I just discovered the same thing. This is a annoying. I have set up several auto playlists in WMP11 and they sync just fine with my other MP3 (which I hoped that the X1 could replace, even bought 16Gb microSD card for this). Now I have to recreate these playlists again on the X1.
I had the same issue. Decided to go the apple way. Got all of my music and playlists setup on iTunes. Installed Pocket Tunes for the sync portion and it copied all of my music and itunes playlists to my SD card. So far, it's been very very stable, keeps in sync, the playlists are recognized by SE media panel and most other winmo media players because they're standard .m3u format.

I have been working on this all weekend. After syncing a small playlist it all seemed to work. Then I started to re-rate all 2000+ songs in my library (as WMP does not store the ratings in the MP3 tags, iTunes did not import those ratings) as I often use playlists based on ratings. I finally started to sync all my music and pocket tunes sync keeps crashing This is very annoying.
Does anyone have another solution to get your MP3 library synchronized on your Xperia with working playlists in the Media Panel?
P.S. I also tried S2P. It look great, but it keeps crashing as my library is over 8Gb.
What version of windows are you currently running? I'm on XP and my version of Pocket Tunes is 4.1.2045 . Another option is to get the free windows version of Salling Media Sync, it'll sync your iTunes library as well as playlists, but to get it to work you have to switch your USB to PC settings so that your phone works as a mass storage device and bypasses active sync.

I am using Vista Business 32 bit. I am currently testing Salling Media Sync right now. I had it first on ActiveX USB to PC setting, which gave problems. I just discovered that I have to switch it and am now testing it with the mass storage device setting. For me that would not be a problem, as I generally sync my Outlook and files either via Bluetooth or GPRS/HDSPA.
Here's something else I found, I may try it out tomorrow http://ita.sourceforge.net/ , it's called iTunes Agent.

I saw that one, but you can only synchronize ONE playlist with your device, not multiple playlists that will also be available as multiple playlists on the device itself.
I think your issue with all these sync programs is Vista compatibility. If you get a chance, try XP, if you can't, try running xp on a virtual machine within your Vista install.
Another thing you can try is, right click on your pocket tunes executable go to properties and do a "run as administrator" on it, also select the compatibility mode to Windows XP, hopefully, it won't crash the next time.

Everytime when I sync music/videos

Do I have to sync everything or is there a way to sync only certain items?
I'm using Multimedia Synch by doubleTwist which came with the phone.
I want to be able to sync 1 movie on my phone without having to sync all my other songs because everytime I sync just the movie section it deletes my music off the phone.
Any help is appreciated.
You could connect in disk drive mode and drag and drop the movie in the folder of your choice.
Also can try to use Card with jacket
& insert in PC
with the phone

It is not a perfect solution, and not just for media, but what I do , is connect in disk mode and use a program called Super Flexible File Synchronizer, it will actually Synchronize the directories, making sure they are exact ...
does no conversion or anything, just syncs, also works for keeping a good backup of my whole SD card once a week or so ...

Doubletwist - Airsync alternative

Hello,
I was wondering if there is an alternative to sync songs from my itunes to the external SD card on my phone. I am using Airsync with limited success. The problem I am having is that it hardly connects with my Mac. I remember finding an alternative program that I used on the Windows side but canot remember the name of the program. If anyone has suggestions for an alternative way to sync music to the external SD card from iTunes playlist please list them.
Thanks,

[Q] What's the best way to sync music/mp3 collection to the S5?

I have an extensive mp3 collection and I'd like to sync to my phone when I plug in USB. On my RAZR, I could use Musicbee, which synched the songs by USB complete with album art, directly to the Music folder on my external SD. But the S5 connects to my PC as a phone, rather than individual drives. I can sync the music to the external SD, but it filters to a series of nested folders relating to my PC username.
TLDNR version: How do you guys sync MP3 collections to your phones?

Two ways, depending on your current setup. I have my collection stored in Dropbox and I just use dropsync which is essentially a selective sync to mirror my Dropbox music folder on my SD card.
The other way, and admittedly something of a pain in the ass, would be just to physically mount your microSD using an adapter, in your laptop, and then use a desktop sync program.

Thanks for the suggestions. I have ~30GB music, and don't really feel like paying for more Dropbox storage
I've been transferring to the SD directly, but it's a pain and would rather just have it sync automatically.
Any other suggestions out there?

Trying to get Doubletwist to work

Hi All
New to Android and looking for the best way to sync my music to the honor 8. Downloaded doubletwist and it won't recognise my phone. Keeps saying to mount it and on the phone via notifications, I select files but has no option to mount the device.
Android file transfer works but want a sync function for better functionality. Alternatively tried just connecting my SD card however doubletwist won't sync FLAC / ALAC files, can it onyl sync MP3?
Thanks
How about using a free cloud service like Drive, Mega or Dropbox?
Just use a PC folder with the songs, have the cloud client installed and syncing that folder. At the phone side, point the music library folder as the synced folder and you don't have to worry about what type of files you are using.
