[Q] OTA's on an MVNO network - G2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have an AT&T D800 which has been carrier unlocked. I am currently using AIO, which is an AT&T MVNO. I am wondering if anybody can tell me if I will be able to receive the recently announced KitKat OTA considering I am not on AT&T's network (at least not by name)? I'm currently running stock, firmware version D80010o, rooted. Thanks in advance for any insight!

Thanks, I'll give that a try as soon as my update timer resets.

No luck so far, with the SIM card in or out. I'll just be patient for the time being........Probably will be easier to install CWM and flash the KitKat rom manually. Thanks for the input!

Any luck updating? I have an ATT LG G2 (rooted) on AIO and I tried to remove the SIM to update but it won't find anything.

My T-Mobile G2 with an H2O SIM (on the AT&T network) got the OTA update notification just fine.

d800 phone not registered yet problem??

After restoring my phone to factory using the flashtool with the dll and tot for both 10d and 10o, checking software update it says phone is not registered yet? Has anyone else had this problem? I cannot update it from 10d to 10o and when the 4.4 comes out that will be a problem for me to get it.
So im assuming im the only one with this problem?
This is the problem
here !
I have that problem too ... and i dont know why ..!
same here
I have this problem as well. Im going to talk to LG and possibly ATT and give you an update.
On a side note, do you get an error connecting it to LG software suite? Just curious cause i read that if you did theres something wrong with the phone.

It went away after 10 minutes for me. I think I moved the date ahead a few days too.

You had the "Phone not registered yet" thing and it suddenly went away and you were able to play again?

Yup. didn't need a new simcard. Just set the date forward a few days and it was gone in a few minutes.
Setting the date forward didnt seem to change anything. Im going to try a new sim card later today

I am stuck with this problem as well. I have gone stock with the august and october tot files and tried everything else I could think of. But, in my case I tend to believe it is due to me using my att d800 on t-mobile. I have even tossed in my previous ATT sim (deactivated) as well as a never activation att sim. I did not expect these to help

Go to my att and use live chat and ask them to push the q update to you. I told them i was rootes and restored back to complete stock and i dont see the q update. They sent it to my phone an d automatically updated. Also if you want root do it from q using the 10o manual method from autoprime and skip adb step 5 and take the kitkat ota. Root sticks

LG G2 - New Owner

Hello All!
I am going to be receiving my LG G2 (Verizon model) tomorrow. I couldn't be more excited! The phone is coming rooted and will have the hotspot provision in place. I have older phones rooted in the past, but have never "unrooted".
With the KitKat update coming soon - from what I understand... what will I need to do to update to KitKat without bricking my phone?
Factory reset? Unroot? This has me a little worried, being I haven't played with the phone much - yet. Hopefully you guys can help me out on what I've got myself into.
Thanks in advance!
I have the same-rooted and i am running a custom rom. I plan on waiting for a custom rom of the released official kit kat for verizon. I don't want all the extra "fluff" they push with it.

if you rooted, you can just freeze the update with TiBu (its called "software update..")
if u Verizon then I would keep this handy

Assuming TiBu is Titanium Backup?
Also is anyone aware of Verizon unrooting videos?
Does the phone brick just when it receives the OTA notification or only when trying to install it (in all variants of the G2)?

Anyone have any advice on how to stop the OTA from downloading when it comes? I haven't received the update, yet but I'd like to know how to stop it from downloading before hand... :good:

This is where you'll most likely find it. It's where the other att FWs were taken from: http://dl.pars-hamrah.com/index.php?file=/Samsung Flash Files/G Series/G935A - Galaxy S7 Firmware

You got them to send you a replacement? What did they say about the T-Mobile fw? Lol.

Nothing, it actually seemed to brick because of a battery issue
Update on this, apparently there is a way to get back to at&t firmware from t-mobile http://forum.xda-developers.com/tmobile-s7-edge/help/yes-downgrade-apg1-to-apd8-t3450382 I personally don't want to try this, but someone else is welcome to.
@nugzo check that out if you want. I'm enjoying the august update from at&t but avoiding root because I kept soft bricking lol

LG H820 i didn't recive Nougat update.

Hi Everyone,
I just buy and unlocked LG G5 H820 At&t mobile, its on marshmellow, how can i get update to nougat?
When i try to update it says phone already on latest version, I tried LG Bridge too but no Luck.
Thanks
Where are you located? Whose network are you on?

Because update available only for AT&T users (AT&T sim card must be in phone) and in USA))) LG Bridge doesnt support H820) only OTA updates)
AT&T sucks)) many thanks for this surprise)) no one can update it H820 in another country. And no KDZ\TOT files for H820 yet
I got a go phone sim for a few dollars and set it up. Didn't put any money on it. Then chatted with att help. They needed a little info from the phone. She pushed all the updates I was missing, including N and the latest security updates. I did this just a few days ago. I then swapped my sim back out for my cricket sim.

SM-G955U1 Oreo Update Out

I just received my Oreo update for my Unlocked S8+. Has anyone else received it yet? I'm thinking since we have Safestrap and now custom rom support that I'll cancel the update and wait for an AOSP rom.

I was on T-Mobile but switched to MetroPCS two days ago. (Same network)
It's true... I am on Sprint with G995U1 and I am currently downloading a 1354.14MB update.
I had to check for it, but it found it and downloaded it. My phone is unlocked. Update applied without issues.
Loving finally having the auto fill API.
Just checked my software updates for the first time in weeks and there it was! Unfortunately they're working on our electrical system, so I won't be able to download it until WiFi is back up, but it'll give me time to back things up.
Factory unlocked running on T-Mobile
Can anyone confirm if Hotspot remains functional after the update without carrier involvement.
Thanks
