(i9500) Increase available user storage space? - Galaxy S 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi guys, I'm new to this i9500 development section as my previous
device was galaxy s1 i9000. The i9000 cm 10 or cm 10 based
roms had 2 different partitions which increased available user
storage.
I understand the i9500 user available space is reduced
significantly due to the way it's partitioned so even if I uninstall
bloatware in the/system partition, the available user space will
hardly be affected since it's in the /data partition.
So I wanted to know if the partition is resized or if it can be
resized in cm11 or sammy based roms so as to increase the user storage
space available.

Yes you can resize the partition. Search the forum on how to do it. My advise is to buy an external microsd card instead. Less hassle, more more more storage.
cheers ~

YES you can for some 3 add Gig
you can, we can, they can and they did it.

but, as suggested in the above (good) reply , i don't do it and I bought and extra 64Gig SD card and live happy....

Sure, I had seen this method but I wanted to know whether there are other methods or roms with different partitions. Anyway, thanks.

No, this is not possible.
Unless of course you are going to extensively modify the firmware and drivers and everything. It's not just like adding ram to a computer.

[Q] Any solution for Redminote 4G (rooted) running on MIUI 6.3.2 Global/stable rom ??

I ve upgrade my redminote 4G to miui latest 6.3.2. All ok, i mean -zapya , root . But i want to know any solution for swaping internal and external memory. It is important coz as u know high hd games kinda MC3 , NFS needs large data files . It is not possible to run on internal 3GB. (i mean one game may b ok but more than 2 or 3 may show not enough space) In my galaxy grand i use rootexternal2internal apk which allow u to change internal storage and external sd. but sadly i cannot use that apk on redminote 4g ..... please kindly show any ways to swap memory ..........................
With thanks...

galaxy j5(2016) root or Cyanogenmod?

hi,
i have a samsung galaxy j500FNXXU1BPF5(2015)(topic title is not correct, so i mean j5 2015) and i want a few more options on it;
-the internal memory isn't enough for me, so i want to run the apps from the SDcard,
-i want to use a part of the SDcard for virtual memory to expand RAM,
-and i want to make automatic backups from my phone including storage and phone settings.
- rather keep android 6 as a base
so my question, what is my best option? root it or install a version of CM or another ROM(has to be stable)?
also i have a SDcard with a writing speed of 60MB/s and reading 90MB/s, is this enough for running apps of it and using as virtual memory?
anyone with the same phone that did it already, plz feedback, thnx.

Install a cyanogenmod 13 and then root it. Then select your SDCard as internal storage. And then do whatever you want with it

Sell Redmi 3 & Note 3 ? No Rom updates / 16GB memory full of apps, cannot move them

Sell Redmi 3 & Note 3 ? No Rom updates / 16GB memory full of apps, cannot move them
I'm thinking of selling my Redmi 3 and my daughters Redmi Note 3 both with only 2GB RAM & 16GB internal storage for a newer Redmi with 4GB/32GB
My 16GB ram is constantly full and I cannot move them to my SD card (tested many Move 2 SD apps, app manager,...)
In the past I flashed custom roms and now I have one of the officials again (= no option to move apps to SD built in).
I have following questions :
-What is the latest interesting custom rom / Android (Pie working yet?) is the latest working on a Redmi 3 or note 3, cause I only see old roms in the rom section here ?
-Is is really not possible to move apps to the sd-card, when I try Move 2 SD it get a message to go to storage, but there is no option built there to move them
-Which Redmi's do you recommend around €125-€150? (may also be secondhand) with 4GB/32GB ?

you can move into sd card, but you have to be rooted first.
but in my opinion, its better you change your phone to newer 4/32 as you suggest first
Lineage
Hi, I've just finished update on my wife's Red mi 3.
Lineage OS 17.1 unofficial. Based on Android 10. I was able to format SD as adoptable memory, so phone free space after installation of all apps is around 7GB.
Performance is even better than original last official MIUI. WiFi is a bit slow, but no other problem for now.

Adoptable Storage

I exactly don't know wat is exactly required for adoptable storage but even in my other low budget devices the option is available!!! Whereas in the max pro m2 (STOCK PIE) it is not available !!! So annoying. I bought the 32 gb VARIANT with a hope to combine my 32 gb sd card but now I find its not possible!!
If you have any suggestions for the stock rom plz.........
Thanks in advance
Does this feature has to do anything with the ROM or the Hardware????
