[ROM] [STOCK] [SO-02E] Rooted 10.3.1.B.0.256 (w/XZDualRecovery 2.7.95-BETA installed) - Xperia Z General

This ROM is for on the SO-02E (NTT docomo) variant of the Xperia Z and is fully stock with all the docomo bloatware with the exception of being rooted and having SuperSU and XZDualRecovery installed. No default files have been tweaked in anyway.
I made this ROM using the [NUT]'s guide.
I tested this on my SO-02E and everything seem to works.
No reboot issue when mounting the system as R/W and no issues booting into recovery.
No data should be lost and all apps are retained when upgrading so you should be good - but backup your data just in case.
Prerequisite:
Rooted 10.1.D.0.343 (others should work)
XZDualRecovery Installed (tested w/2.7.94-BETA)
Installation:
1. Copy SO-02E_10.3.1.B.0.256.flashable_v2.zip to your SDCard

Hey, flashing this rom soft bricked my phone when i rebooted for the second time, so i had to restore back to JB. But then i again installed KK FOTA and before rebooting for the second time i flashed CleanKat into it. Its been working fine since then.

[Q] Stuck in boot animate after flashing? (mk2)

So right now im on TW 4.3 and wanted to upgrade to 4.4.4 GPE from here. Here are the steps I followed (from here):
First time installing a 4.4.2 ROM:
0. Root and install safestrap v3.72
1. Copy files from above to extSdCard
2. Reboot into Safestrap Recovery
3. Wipe... Advanced Wipe... everything except extSdCard
4. Install... 4.4.2 ROM
5. Install... ATT_MLD_Modules.zip (to fix wifi)
6. Install... UPDATE-SuperSU-v2.01.zip (to keep root)
7. Home... Reboot... Download (to reboot into download mode)
8. On PC, open Odin and flash files from MLD Odin Files folder.... BL AP CP
9. Phone will reboot automatically
10. Check APN settings and configure if necessary
Click to collapse
I get the first part of the boot animated then it just starts flickering and my phone gets hot. I can restore to my backup fine. Im just wondering what am I doing wrong? I'm sorta new to this stuff but I installed a 4.3 rom before just fine.

Yeah. When you want to download the rom either through wifi, which takes eternity, or waste LOTS of mobile data. But anyways you need to get TWRP or CWM, which is impossible without a pc.

but in official rom (touchwiz 6.0.1) no problem with mbtool...
but... if i enter dual boot rom, it gets stuck at the kernel (dual boot not working even though mbtool is working)
and yes i have root and everything
without mbtool

Hi Sunil,
Important note: after trying out a few custom roms, not sure why anyone would desperately need to go custom on the S7 at the moment - Android 8 still gets security updates and has nearly all the features a custom would offer. If the only reason to go to Android Pie or higher is the look, would not a launcher do the job?
Same issue on Samsung S7, could not find a workaround. Here is what I'm testing to rom switch and it seems like it could achieve what is the desired outcome.
------------------
- Backup process -
------------------
Stock
1. Backup apps (with Super Backup), app data also, if you have root. - either set SD Card as save location or copy to it, to hold them through a flash/wipe.
Custom
2. Boot TWRP recovery (Vol up + Home + Power)
3. Backup to SD Card (with Recovery)
-------------------
- Restore process -
-------------------
Stock
1. Flash all (with Odin)
1. Restore apps by opening the apk's or use Super Backup if you have root* and want the app data.
Custom
2. Boot TWRP recovery (Vol up + Home + Power)
3. Install the custom rom and Gapps zips (with Recovery)
4. Wipe Data; Format Data + Advanced Wipe - Caches, Internal (with Recovery)
5. Restore from SD Card (with Recovery)
*requires TWRP is flashed into recovery partition and Magisk installed and Manager app to setup environment, you'll probably need the static BusyBox binary through Manager downloads or grabbed from Google Play.
