Earlier this month, a leak bought an unofficial list of devices that would be getting updated to Android 4.4 KitKat, at least in the U.S.. Today, Samsung USA has decided to make things official and has announced which of its phones and tablets will be getting the KitKat update, with many of the devices that were named in the leak actually included in the official list, including low-end devices like the Galaxy Tab 3 and the Galaxy S III mini (the upgraded model with LTE launched last year on AT&T and Verizon, not the international variant that came out in 2012.)
If you’re rocking a Galaxy Note 3 or Galaxy S4, expect to see a notification for the update today itself, especially if you’re on Sprint or US Cellular, as Samsung mentions that it will start rolling out starting today, confirming earlier leaks that suggested the update would be making its way to devices on the two networks.
Here’s the full list of devices that will be getting KitKat:
• Galaxy Note 3
• Galaxy Note II
• Galaxy S4
• Galaxy S4 mini
• Galaxy S4 Active
• Galaxy S4 zoom
• Galaxy S III
• Galaxy S III mini
• Galaxy Mega
• Galaxy Light
• Galaxy Note 8.0
• Galaxy Tab 3
• Galaxy Note 10.1
• Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 Edition
That’s a pretty big list, which should make users of the aforementioned devices quite happy, though if you’re using a non-flagship device, we would recommend patience as Samsung will likely take its time pushing out the newer version of Android. The presence of the Galaxy Note 10.1 on the list is especially good to see, as users of the device have been pretty vocal of the poor support Samsung has extended to the original Galaxy Note tablet, with the device on Android 4.1.2 for more than a year.
Here’s the press release:
Samsung Confirms KitKat for U.S. Smartphones and Tablets

As far as i know 10.1 will come with a stock Honeycomb 3.0{& i want that only} & 8.9 will have a Samsung custom UI over it.
But we will know shortly which version will have stock Android or none
I hope the 10.1 will have stock honeycomb because I don't like touchwiz at all
Got the backup YouTube video? it has been pulled out
Surprise, surprise, it's been pulled. Still not long to go to the launch at 16:00 GMT (11:00 EST).
Ha,Ha lol
but the designs are great
Well, this is a really good news for the 10.1" after I read about UI customization of the 8.9".
I might get the 10.1" then! Stock Honeycomb, thinner, lighter, and microSD card (as bonus).
As long as they don't change the battery size!
Damn, I am excited again.
16:00 GMT = 16:00 London time? I think so!

Wow, if they did make it thinner and add SD/USB support, I'm assuring my 700-800 $ going to Sammy
Wow its so thin and looks super. I'm going for it
Why does it have to take until summer for this tablets to be released!!!! Apple presented the iPad2 and then a week later it was released!!! Such a tease!!! I will go the Xoom way.
I think both the 10.1 and 8.9 are going to have TouchWiz UX - personally I don't think it looks too bad!

Yeah its a pity they only had about 4 to sell among the entire American population, and they are still having shortages!
I would rather they waited until they had a good stock and good hardware!

Samsung Galaxy Note III rumored to launch in US with 5.9" display

Samsung Galaxy Note III, the potential successor of the popular Galaxy Note II phablet was said to come out with a whopping 5.9" display. Now, an executive from one of the main parts suppliers for the company has confirmed the screen size.

According to a report from Korea Times, the next generation Galaxy Note will launch in the United States as confirmed by the local suppliers. The report also claims that the South Korean manufacturer will be showing off its Galaxy Note III concept to the US carrier AT&T in the coming days.
Samsung Galaxy Note III is also rumored to sport the latest OLED technology for the display, which is expected to offer a full HD resolution.
The successor of the Galaxy Note II is expected to be launched by the end of August, falling in line with the IFA 2013, but Samsung might chose to skip the show and hold its own Unpacked event in the US as it did for the Galaxy S4.

Rumours & Gossip.
Am I the only one that's tired of seeing these stupid rumor threads? This is the Note 2 forum not the "what the Note 3 might have" forum.
I ll take a 5.9 screen all day long Keep those rumors coming.

Looks like I've found my next upgrade.
Sent from the mighty Note II.
I'm not tired of speculation about the Note3 threads. How bout just not opening them up?!
I think 5'9" is pretty definitive based on the sources I've seen.
I couldn't believe Samsung would go 6'3", too bigga jump....would cost them too many users. 5'9" is closer to the jump they made from Note1 to Note2.
I'm now betting the bank on 5'9".

I am interested in the Note 3, and while it is probably around 6 months away, no doubt the speculation will start rolling out.
I think the actual size of the Note 3 won't change much (when compared with the Note 2). I think the extra screen space will be from an edge to edge (or close to) display.
The size of the Note 2 is big, but it is pocketable. So you get all the benefits of it being portable, as well as all that screen for your Sat Nav, Pictures, Camera, Videos, Browsing, or whatever you use your Note for.
That is the form factor they have to bare in mind.
We will probably get a lot of clues from the S3/S4 differences.
gossip geeks
I'll wait for the Note III rather than the S4.
There seems to be less hype for the S4 and no wow factor to the S3.
Well at least discussing an imaginary phone with a 5.9" screen is not as bad as discussing an imaginary phone with a 6.3" screen.

This new rumor could mean several different things:
The Galaxy Fonblet is actually a 6.3-inch device, not a 5.8-inch device and the Galaxy Note 3 is indeed 5.9-inches.
The Galaxy Fonblet has two models, 5.8-inches and 6.3-inches and the Galaxy Note 3 is smaller, perhaps the same 5.5-inches.
The Galaxy Fonblet has two models, 5.8-inches and 6.3-inches and the 5.9-inch Galaxy Note 3 is dangerously close in size to the 5.8-inch Fonblet.
The Galaxy Fonblet is actually 5.8-inch device, not 6.3-inches, and the Galaxy Note 3 is 6.3-inches.
Both devices aren’t real and the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 could have a 5.9-inch or 6.3-inch display.
Unfortunately, because we’re so far off from launch, these are all plausible at this point. The emergence of a possible 6.3-inch Fonblet certainly adds a new twist to the Galaxy Note 3 rumors however as Samsung obviously would not have different devices with the same size display competing against each other in the same markets.
The Samsung Galaxy Note 3 is rumored for launch in September and it could be that we have to wait until then to find out what’s what.

Loving the rumors.....
we could all think what we want, but at the end of the day...its a case of wait and see :crying:

Galaxy Grand Lite (GT-I9060), to be announced at MWC

Yes, folks, you read that right. There’s the original Galaxy Grand, the just announced Galaxy Grand 2, and in a couple of months, there will be another Galaxy Grand sandwiched in between, dubbed the Galaxy Grand Lite (GT-I9060), according to one of our insiders. The device will be showcased at the MWC in late February, and is*something of a cross Grand and Grand 2 – it will have a 5-inch WVGA screen, 1.2GHz quad-core processor, 1GB of RAM, 8GB internal storage with microSD slot, and a 2,100mAh battery.
Where it differs is the camera and Android version. The camera is expected to be a 5-megapixel unit on the rear and a very standard VGA camera on the front; our insider says the phone will run on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean – that’s probably just temporary, and the final product should have at least Android 4.3 out of the box. Dual SIM support is pretty much a given as well, as the Galaxy Grand has been a success in markets where phones with two SIM slots are quite popular (such as India and China), though that’s something we can’t confirm at this point.

The Galaxy Grand Lite will be available in white, “Midnight Black”, “Lime Green”, and orange, from somewhere around the fifth week of 2014 (a couple of weeks before the MWC showcase). Why is Samsung making a Galaxy Grand Lite? Well, that’s a tough question to answer – it looks like the Korean company is taking things a step further when it comes to having multiple variants of their devices, this time extending the tradition to a device that comes somewhere in the lower mid-range spectrum of the market. It’s not a move that makes any sense to us, but hey, we aren’t making the decisions over at Samsung HQ.

yes you are right. that's Samsung strategy :I
Nokia at its height did the same... they diversified their products and tried to satisfy all kinds of consumer... let's just hope Samsung's fate will be different from Nokia now...
Sent from my GT-I9082 using xda app-developers app
Lol.....there was a time when NOKIA was at its highest peak. But in the course of time,it starting descending very poorly. You know why, because of their poor software. Symbian was good at initial stage but afterwards it couldn't stand firm in the growing android and ios competition. I had Nokia n8 and its OS was more than crap and slow. There was lack of development for it and most importantly less number of apps. In addition to these reosons there were also many flaws in It which lead SYMBIAN to its DEATH. While if we move to SAMSUNG,I don't think so same thing will happen with it. Because Samsung phones run ANDROID which is one of the best OSes in today's market. And hopefully it will grow more and more rapidly with the course of time. The prime reoson which can cause SAMSUNG to its death is its softare optimization. The Ui and physical condition. But Samsung Is keeping its place by doing well with its UI. Well let's hope for better for both

Where in Mumbai can we get it for that Price ?
Please
I got it for 68K black color without bill ofcourse 2 months back. The reason for this high price in my case I only wanted the model number SM-N915G not another which ends for "S" or "U" etc. The 915G model is made for Singapore, Australia & INDIA. This makes it better to support indan networks and upgrading to Indian Firmwares from SamMobiles. This is atleast my thought
BTW I even have now 3 - 4 cases for the case
1. Official Note Edge Samsung Flip Case - I have 2 of them so someone wants let me know
2. UAG Note Edge Case - Love it and currently using it
3. Verus Case - in 3 colors, some of them is packed as well. I have it Red, Silver & Black. I am planing to sell the Red one.

Samsung Galaxy Note Edge CASES
the phone is here but where is the lollipop update, this is really ridiculous of samsung.
I dont actually expect an update till atleast end march the way things are going. The note 4 hasnt even started getting the update yet here in India.
It's really horrible. My S4 is on lollipop officially but not My note edge
Actually we seem to have spoken too soon. Lolipop has just come out for the Australian G version. Which means we should also get one soon.
Ps. I also flashed the s4 with lollipop and i loved what Samsung has done! Cant wait.
Indian users finally get a taste of lollipop! Before note 4 users
Go download now!
I believe the Lollipop for India has just been released....it's already available in Sammobile.
Note edge lollipop india review needed
Hello Everyone.
I need review for the lollipop update of the galaxy note edge in india. If anyone has updated, can you please confirm the following :-
1. Has the shutter button in the camera app shifted from the edge screen to the main screen near the home button after the lollipop update.
2. Is the edge screen and its old functions working normally like utility tool such as ruler and flashlight on the edge screen?
3. Any other bugs observed after the new update?

Samsung starts Nougat firmware development for the Galaxy S6 edge

http://www.sammobile.com/2016/11/13/samsung-starts-nougat-firmware-galaxy-s6-s6-edge/
What do you think? Will we get Nougat this year?
Probably a year from now lol
The news is in test pk7 firmware.
Probably in this year
"Started development"
Then needs to get to the carriers. I guarantee it will not be this year. More likely is middle of next year
They are expecting results from the beta s7
Well wait and see... I'm willing to make it interesting if you want. I'd bet on it in a heartbeat that it won't be until next year

Sadly, in this article, it says "The S6 and S6 edge are unlikely to get the update before 2017; in fact, Samsung probably isn’t going to bring Android 7.0 to the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge before next year, either."
Maybe...

The images are benchmarks of a S6 Edge running Nougat.
Or someone that changed their Android version in two seconds with root explorer. I can make mine say Android 100.0
Take a look at what happened when Marshmallow was released in September of 2015. The first device that got the update was the Note 5 in March of 2016 – a five month wait. This can be used as a benchmark for future releases.
Nougat was released in August of this year. If we add five months to that, we have a potential January 2017 release date. Although the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge were the only devices confirmed to have Nougat, there have been reports about Android 7.0 being developed for the Galaxy Note 5 as well as the Galaxy Tab S2. Some reports are also stating that the Galaxy S6, S6 Edge and S6 Edge+ are getting Nougat after the S7 and S7 Edge.

I will ask Samsung France about S6/S6 edge/S6 edge + Nougat release
will be released till june as I know
S6 edge will get Nougat in a few days..
