Isis and wallet on the same rom? - G2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have been searching high and low for a rom that will allow wallet and Isis. Malladus allows Isis but not wallet tap and pay. AOKP and PA allow wallet tap and pay but Isis will not install. Since KK has the ability to choose your tap and pay solution there has to be a way to get them both functioning. Any ideas?

I am surprised that no one even nibbles at this with the free money and perks offered by Isis.

My Tmo G2 came with the ISIS app installed on it only thing I had to do was buy an Isis Sim card in order to use it. Have done so yet though.

Thanks, but by ROM I meant custom ROM. Thought that was obvious enough that it didn't need to be stated. Isis works for everyone on stock.

Dredging up an older post of my own, but both work on Malladus 2.0.
I would expect that they will both work on any official 4.4 ROM.

Does s3 actually have Google wallet?

I was on the target site looking at getting it for the unadvertised $150 sale and saw it says it can use Google wallet on att.

I just loaded it up and it says basically hasn't been verified/ allowed in my country (US) or carrier (AT&T)

Ok i was curious about that because i was led to believe that att blocked the use of it.

It is possible to get it working by side loading a hack verson of google wallet as i did it and it worked but you have to have cm9 ! Which the atnt verson doesnt have yet.

Root should be sufficient to have the hacked version of Google Wallet working, a custom rom like CM9 should be completely unnecessary.

the only carrier to support Google Wallet is Sprint. you have NFC capability which you can use to use a hacked Google wallet but no AT&T supported Google Wallet.

Thats what i thought but you get stuck on the initializing device stage. Well It is the international version i have so try it on your and lets get the free 10 dollars to as many people as possible . On another note... be EXTREMELY CAUTIOUS when using wallet as if you do not delete the data from within the application (not in app manager) you will render your secure element unusable as thats what i did to mine and am currently in the process of RMAing my phone.

But can you run the wallet, initialize it, load the prepaid google card, and have a transaction?

You get that error as soon as you load it. In other words, it shuts down as soon as you run it.
How secure or trustworthy is the hacked version?

Question about Google wallet

What's up. This isn't for me but for a friend who recently got the s4. He's unrooted and may never root at all. I don't follow at&t news much if at all because I have Verizon. I know Verizon blocks Google wallet to force their Isis on users but was wondering if Google wallet will becoming too AT&T through an update down the road? Or will you have to be rooted to ever use it? Thanks

At&t, Verizon and T-Mobile have all invented millions of dollars into Isis. They have and will be pushing Isis onto us sadly. The only current method to get Google wallet working is through root.

Thanks for replying. I'm sure I'll eventually get him to root but Isis till then

Do you think google wallet will work out the box for T-Mobile variant?

Just what the topic says. Or will we need to root to get it to work.

Doubt it. NFC only works on CDMA Note II, and Verizon version blocked it. Verizon wants to launch it's own system to do it. You will most likely have to get a hacked APK.

The nexus 4 on T-mobile supports it
I have not tryed it, but Google Play says it is compatable with my Galaxy S2 T-Mobile (T989) running Jedi Mind Trick, Android 4.1.2.

Remember GW recently updated to have a non-NFC version available to pretty much any Android phone. However, only the Nexus phones and I believe recent Sprint phones support NFC payments in store.
Some folks using different Xposed modules have been able to get it to work on their ATT or Tmobile phones, but for the non-modded community, it's generally been no.
So I wouldn't expect it to work out of the box. You'll need to use Isis most likely.

I was referring to Note II handsets.
T-Mobile has disabled the use of Google Wallet on ALL THEIR PHONES in favor of ISIS. I'm sure there will be a work around sooner or later but out the box you will not have GW access.

KitKat and Google Wallet News

First, hell has frozen over and MotoX on Verizon is first to get KitKat update:
http://www.androidpolice.com/2013/1...e-first-kitkat-update-and-its-starting-today/
Next, it appears that google wallet now works on verizon due to the HCE (host card emulation):

So, we should theoretically get all this soon on the maxx. Yay!
Wow. Still in denial.
That is fantastic news! I have been looking forward to start using Google Wallet... just need to find retailers that accept it.

We have pharmacy, gas stations, grocery stores, target, and fast food that accept it in my area. I've only tried it at kangaroos and wal-greens but it was weird paying with the nexus7.
Surprised at the lack of action in this thread. Has Android development and modding become dormant?

No. I thought the same thing coming from a Galaxy nexus to the razr maxx hd then to the droid maxx.
You have to realize this line of phones is only on one carrier. And for me, the phone just works. (with xposed framework of course).
But I would never dismiss the idea of needing more development.

Excellent. Hope it works. I have the Maxx now but I did get Google wallet payment with NFC working on my galaxy nexus. Loved using it for vending machines at work, convenience stores, etc.
BTW the ISIS app says I can't use it because I'm rooted.

I can't get the NFC for Wallet to work it finally installed from the play market but anytime it put it up to the reader ISIS app opens.

Wont work until we have 4.4.x
Were still on 4.2.2 unless you are the first person to get the soak test download...
Well that makes sense of the thread title now.

Tap and pay

So has anyone figured out how to get Google wallet tap to pay working? That's the only problem this phone has.

I believe there's been some success with the t-mobile variant, though its not completely functional. Do some searching around and you may find the thread. Other than that there's really been no success and we'll just have to wait till 4.4 comes out which in theory should support it. Till then I'm just using Isis which isn't really all that bad plus I get 20% cash back till 1/31
