[Q] Galaxy S-IV (S4) confirmation for AptX audio - Galaxy S 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello,
As the title says , is there anyone who can please guide me for the following queries :
1. Does international Samsung Galaxy S-IV supports AptX audio compression for bluetooth audio streaming. I am a bit confused, although it is listed on the AptX website as a complaint device smartphone, some other places list only Galaxy S-IV Active as the complaint device. Would be nice to know which model variants of S4 support the aptx.
2. Would be nice to know about how to confirm that it supports Bluetooth audio aptX (any terminal or ADB command ? ), will this command even output the presence of aptX , even if the mobile is not paired to an aptX complaint device and actively streaming the audio. I am asking since I dont have an AptX enables bluetooth headphone or speaker at the moment, although I am researching prior to buying one.
3. If connected to an aptX complaint device , do we have to use the stock android ROM Music or Media player to get the benefit of aptX audio streaming. Or we can use any media player of our choice (like MX Player, Wondershare or even the ported Sony Walkman App) while running the stock ROM. I am running the stock WanamLite ROM 4.2.2 and prefer the ported sony walkman app for listening to music.
Would really appreciate the feedback and opinions for the queries, which are not only for me, but would help the community at large.
Thanks for your support.

So many views and not a single guru to advise and answer....surprising at the least....
Keeping the fingers crossed....
Pending my decision to buy aptx enabled Bluetooth headphones...till the queries are answered....hope these may help a lot of others like me.

[Q] Nexus 7 bluetooth support apt-x?

anyone know?
Sorry for the old bump, but I've googled this and can't find an answer. This is the only thread that shows up, so i figured it was better to bump than start a new one.
Few months have passed now since the launch of the Nexus 7, so can anyone answer this question yet?
Also, as I understand it, aptX is effectively a codec, presumably integrated into the bluetooth drivers. Thus, even if not supported already, is it an option in the future with a bit of hacking?
Cheers

As is Nexus 7 doesn't support apt-x. I would love to see it in future updates or be able to at least get it some other way.
Using it with Creative WP-350 Headset at the moment, stock bluetooth provides nice sound quality so I can only imagine
how good would it be with apt-x running.
There's two problems I cant figure a fix for - noticeable delay in sound - in gaming very annoying, so that's one
cause I managed to get Mx Player play movies OK, no delay - while using H/W decoder (not the "+" one)
But the second thing is and its probably connected to the delay issue - when using the tablet - no music in the background - I can hear the headphones switching, when the sound is comming and going. Lets say I select any of the apps, or select touch one of the options, when I`m
about to hear the standard selection action sound, I'll hear the headphones switch on,I can hear static. play the sound and switch off again - no static.
All this with less than a second delay witch probably is the reason for even noticing the damn thing
Getting the Apt-X support and fixing the sound playback delay would be vital for my personal Full enjoyment of the Nexus.
well... maybe I'm forgetting to moan about partial existence of Play Store and Google Wallet in Europe (Ireland in my case)
thereof lack of 25 USD bonus with the purchase, and no access to the Free Transformers film
but that's for different thread
I'm in Europe too (Italy) but is possible to get the 25$ play store bonus using a vpn while registering your device,i red a guide somewhere here in xda to do this and it worked perfectly
Anyway I'd love to have apt-x codec support for nexus 7 and the audio delay through bluetotooth fix.. I hope somebody will figure out how to do this.

New Nexus 7.2 with APT-X?
Does the new Nexus 7.2 support APT-X. codex.
APT-X is bluetooth that send music in CD qualify wireless.
All new high - end smartphones like HTC ONE and Samsung G3 and G4 have it, and together with a APT-X dongle (like QUE uPlay puck) connected to a amplifier or bluetooth speaker with built-in APT-X (like Klipch or Loeve2go) The sound is really great to listen to!
Nexus 7.2 is a low - budget tablet and there is no clue in tecnical spec. about APT-X . Does it support APT-X?

I tryed to hack this but with no luck i found how to modify bluez lib to be able to work with libbt-aptx but i do not have lib compiled for nexus 7. APT-X is a purly software decoder for audio and if your bt head set suport it then it is possible if some one can povide lib for nexus 7. And of cause this will be ileagal because CSR has contracts only with HTC and SAMSUNG
Nexus 7 apt-x transmission
Will hooking the nexus to an apt-x transmitter (eg: creative usb BT-D1) via an OTG cable help?

[Q] aptX support for the Note 4?

We know the Note 3 has it: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2455303
Has anyone been able to confirm aptX support on the Note 4?
Yes it has. Official confirmation here http://gavinsgadgets.wordpress.com/2014/11/15/does-the-samsung-note-4-have-apt-x-codec/

run logcat and look for "aptx"
if it does not show some output with this text then it is not using it
you will need to catch it while connecting to the bluetooth device
How do you 'catch it' when connecting?
Should the phone indicate something about AptX?

Huawei Nova apt-x audio codec

Hi mates,
I've got the Nova Grey, it works very good and I'm really happy with it. But I'm missing the high resolution audio codec like on my old HTC one mini 2.
Did someone try to push the aptx Codec to the device?
Will it work? I don't want to root and break my warranty for nothing.
There are several developers who have ported it, here is a example page:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/software/mod-aptx-hd-bluetooth-hi-res-audio-t3501991
Nova has DTS app preinstalled on the phone and I found it great on headphones but it doesn't work on speakers.
And it doesn't work on Bluetooth speakers as well... Only wired connections

AptX implementation on ZE552KL and chip support

Hi everyone,
Android O brings bluetooth audio codec option that includes AptX. Does 625 actually support AptX? Is there a way to verify this? I have an AptX ready headset, it isn't fancy by any means, but I intend to make use of the feature. It's probably gimmicky but let's give it a shot.

This is screenshot of connected devices in action.
@sanctitude:
Which app does the notification about runnig "BT aptx codec" on your screen shot come from? How can i show that on my device?
You can find it on developer option, scroll down to bluetooth section where you can select your codec
Thanks, santitude!
I know about the "developer option" for the general setting of apt-x for BT but this is not the same thing as your screen shot.
Your screen-shot above is apparently a notification about the "running" codec, being actually used at the moment of playing music through BT.
On my device on LOS 15.1 i do not see a notification as on your screen shot, but this is exactly what i'm looking for.
I'm on stock Oreo, the notification just showed up during playback using aptX headset, it's probably OS related or behaviour. Anyone using LOS, please clarify

Bluetooth aptX not working

Hello everybody!
As I know our Nokia 5 (Android 8.1) supports Bluetooth audio codecs like AAC or aptX. So I want to use my Anker Soundbuds Sport IE20, which also supports aptX.
The problem is that I can choose aptX in the developer options and I can use it too. But I must choose it everytime if I want to hear music with my BT-headset. When I choose it, it works and I hear a difference to SBC and the same when I choose AAC.
So I want to ask you why my Nokia 5 doesn't choose aptX automatically, because it should do that (as I know)?
I hope somebody can help me with that
Edit: With my old Samsung Galaxy S5 it works perfectly without any problem.
