Manually applying OTA on a UK Advent branded Note 7 - Nvidia Tegra Note 7

Hi,
I've got a UK Advent branded Note 7 from PC World (Seemed very strange buying something through choice from PC world!) but it is still running 4.2.2, and isn't picking up any OTA updates.
I thought I'd try applying the 4.3 update manually, as described in the http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2570807 thread, but I can't get it to work.
Am I missing something here?
Do I need to push this via ADB?
Carl

My advent note did pickup the 4.3 update and the ota after that, strange yours didn't

Give it a couple days and the update should appear. It took about a day and a half from when I first started it for mine to show the update as available.

Guess you tried reboot?
My Advent pulled the OTA in the moment i turned it on for the first time.

Ah - I did think I had posted an update, but it obviously hadn't saved.
I got the OTA update a day or two afterwards anyway, so panic over!

Just connected to kies on my mac and is asking for upgrade to KMM 3.2? is it fix?

But the interesting thing is that I already have KMM 3.2 on my rooted tab.
Also of interest is that NOW the fus servers are showing this

Latest firmware:
P7510UEKMM/P7510XABKMN/P7510UEKMM/P7510UEKMM
Version:
Android 3.2
where as before they would show the KME version..
(before as in yesterday!)
So has samsung fixed the delivery process??
am not going to upgrade because i believe this KMM is the same as the KMM i flashed via odin from sampro.pl
I got an update using Kies today. Looks like the one you posted. I didn't have any problems with the first 3.2 update and doesn't with this one either.
When I get home ill see if there's any difference :-D

How come Kies on your Mac supports firmware upgrades? Mine says firmware upgrades are not supported for GT10.1.
Anyway it's seems that again 3G users (that actually paid more money to Samsung) have been left behind with no update That's so Samsung...
I got an upgrade for kies

go ahead and update. All is good. sammy fixed it and pushed it out yesterday, even the OTA is fine. But it will take a few minutes, around 35-40 to complete the installation. make sure you have full battery before you do it if doing it via kies, if OTA keep it plugged in to the socket...Just in case.
I got a update via kies today to but it doesn't seem to have been the 3.2 version as in the system information it still says 3.1. I've tried looking for a update again but it says I already have the latest firmware so I'm a little confused.

you are probably using a non US rom...
flash via Odin i say..is more reliable
To be honest I'm not into the whole custom rom stuff because I always muck something up
That is correct I am in the UK so I assume I am using the UK rom which according to another thread on here the 3.2 update isn't available here yet which explains it hehe

UK OTA Update

Hi All,
I've done some searching on this and other forums but have yet to find a satisfactory and up to date answer.
As per the title....is there a UK OTA update?
My tablet is version 3.0.1
Build 1.016.05_com_gen1
Thanks in advance for any info
Hi Al'
I'm in no way an expert and I think the Acer method of naming files causes some confusion however, FWIW.......
I'm in the UK, my A500 had 3.01 when supplied and I received notification of update to 3.1 which I did. I'm currently on 4.01.41-com_gen1.
I'm now rooted and believe I can't rely on OTA updates but there IS a System update notification (7.006.01) which I believe is 3.2 but as this won't permit rooting, I haven't bothered with it.
Have you tried checking manually (I've got Automatic update checking disabled, perhaps you have too?).
Hiya mate,thanks for your reply
Yes auto update is enabled and have manually checked too,a bit frustrated, don't really want to go down the rooting route if I can help it but might have to.
Cheers
Quick update for anyone that's interested
Contacted Acer support who told me how to manually check for update....thanks,worked that one out already, duh!
Next they've said to factory reset then the update will become available.....er no its not happening!
They now say they'll book it in for a look......we'll see, hmmm
No updates here I use the xda updates now.
My A501 came with 3.01 in November and I was offerered the 3.2 OTA update almost as soon as I powered it up and connected to the net for the first time. It has now OTA updated to 3.2 in the UK quite happliy.

Just like to say a general thanks to everyone who's contributed on XDA for the rooting/flashing info, hats off to you.
Cheers
Al
Received both updates on Thursday 5th November and they both installed without a hitch. By the way,I'm on stock honeycomb.

Have you managed to download it, and verify if you got ICS ?
I was chatting online with Samsung support about the availability of the download, and checked checkfusdownloader while I was online and founf the update - but the support person says it is not an ICS update. I hope they just don't know what they are talking about.

Visitor: Can you please tell me if this contains 4.0.4 - or is it just another 3.2 update
Smith: Its just a update to the version you have on the Tab.
Visitor: containing what exactly ?
Smith: We do not have the information on the update as it is through air.
Visitor: so it could be 4.0.4 then - you just don't know
Smith: It is not 4.

EDIT: sammobile have it uploaded now - so it looks like it is finally here ... now if only I had my TAB with me
Oh, sorry for the delay. It took a while to download and then I was playing with it.
For those curious:
Build Number- IMM76D.UELPL
I must say, This thing runs soooooooooooo much better. It also feels a bit more cohesive with my SG3. I think I'll keep it stock for a while. Also, I notice I can uninstall the bloat they included with it originally now. Not just hide, but remove Amazon, Kindle, etc. crud that I don't think I could before. Would be nice to add smart stay, Allshare Play, and face unlock eventually. I'm a little spoiled with some of the things on my SG3.
Downloading it now. US/TN.
Same its downloading now
Just did the check update on mine and also got the upgrade box. 254.01MB

No, i just installed the update via OTA. Did not wipe device, however you will lose your homescreens if you are using the native TouchWiz launcher.
Checked mine a few hours ago, got update available.
Did a reset for a clean update.
Now when I check, no update available.
Checked my wife's tab, same thing, not available.
Checked some other forums and some are also getting not available.
Could Samsung be staggering the update to keep the servers from getting overloaded?
I just checked for update on mine and no update is available.
Is anyone else getting "Your device is not compatible" with Chrome? What the hell? It's 4.0.4
edit:cleared market data and it's available
If you are not seeing the update try hooking up to Kies

Did anybody get an OTA update?
Is ICS coming OTA or via Kies? I live in Mass. and as of 11:30 a.m. on 8/13 my tab says there is no update available. I rather not have to bother with Kies, so I'll wait awhile longer.
^My update notification popped up as soon as I unlocked my Tab this morning.
I've been stuck on stock due to lots of ffc use, and thank Christ the keyboard lag is fixed. It's like a new tablet.
Any advantage to going from the UK version to the US version? I live in the US, but flashed the UK version a while back... is there even a difference?
Just my luck, android 4.0 for the tablet is released and suddenly kies stops working and won't recognize my tab, and i also get "No update available"
I plugged it into my computer and the update was available through Kies. Took about 30 minutes for the update to complete, and so far I am liking it.
I have the US GT-P7510 flashed with the ICS 4.0.4 UK version, is it possible to install the US ICS over the UK version using Odin, or do I have to rollback to HC 3.2 then flash this new ICS?
ok its official ICS IS HERE, i was using custom roms but then decide to go to stock i was using ROM HTJ85B.UEKMP i try to use the update from within the tablet but did not work as soon as i connected the tablet to kies bam updating and now its official ICS is here, after the update everything just ran by itself no need to clear nothing. pass the word around and if anyone has the ability to actual rip the whole rom off please do so cause i know for many kies does not work. it was a long wait but its here
I gave up on the OTA update as it has said no update available all morning. Currently connected to Kies and performing the upgrade. Crossing my fingers everything goes smoothly.

Hello fellow N10 owners,
Unfortunately, the OTA KitKat update for my N10 is still not available for download.
I have reset the Google Frameworks app, but that did not work.
I am running Android Version 4.3 build JWR66Y stock rooted.
If you guys have any suggestions I would really appreciate it. Also, If you would know
how I could keep root after the update that would be awesome!
Thank you

Glad to know I'm not the only one. I was beginning to wonder if my tablet was screwed or something. I have a nexus 7 also and it has yet to get an OTA update either.
I from malaysia and also don't get any update message yet : \

Perhaps Google is waiting for Kitkat to be released on the new Nexus 10 before updatring the original Nexus 10.
There is no new Google 10 and seriously once you get KitKat on your tablet you'll wish you hadn't, the OS is like a giant phone and isn't geared up for tablets.

I disagree. With the exception of the PhoneUI settings screen it's exactly the same thing we had before with much improved performance and reliability. I'm so glad to get rid of 4.3.. Nothing but problems.
Maybe it's been pulled.

Use Adb to sideload the ota zip if you do not want to wait
And I think KitKat is great on the n10, especially with the new launcher installed

I'm still waiting too. I'm in London, UK.

The full image is available on the Nexus factory images site. If you can't wait for the OTA, just download and flash that. Just remember to edit the batch file so you don't wipe everything. Here is the link.
https://developers.google.com/android/nexus/images?csw=1#mantarayjwr66y
Taking advantage of the topic, I'm from Brazil and me has not yet come to update my tablet version is also JWR66Y rooted, I need to get the root to update via OTA? Because I remember the last update to 4.3, when restarted I had problem with the boot image and had to use a tool to change the boot image
I waited, and waited, but gave up a couple nights ago. Seems to me, it should be like a voting system. The more manual update checks you do, the sooner you get it versus those that don't manually check. Those that don't realize the update is even or won't miss it for another few days.
Editing the -w out of the batch file was troublesome for me. The flag would complete and the tablet would reboot, but it would then hang on the nexus boot screen. Tried twice, but waiting a half an hour each time, I deemed it failure. Unexpected too since I had done a full wipe, factory fresh 4.3 the week prior.
Running the unedited batch with wipe went without a hitch. No biggie since I had done it recently.

Yeah, I updated mine with the factory image several days ago...I decided to go ahead and let it do the full wipe since I was reading that folks were having issues after removing the "-w" flag. Full wipe is probably the way to go anyway if want to avoid bugs.
For anyone interested who hasn't done this before, I found the instructions here to be quite helpful:

can i keep root with 4.4 OTA
Alright guys looks like I finally got the 4.4 OTA.
Anyone know how I can keep root???
Flash SuperSU from custom recovery. SuperSU v1.69 worked for me. The latest is 1.75.

If you tried to take the update while rooted, it will fail and simply reboot you into the version you had before. Before taking an update you need to follow the steps to return to stock
