Is it possible to download the spark ot manually? Non rooted - G2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I unrooted my phone few weeks ago to take the new spark update. I know there are a few tricks a lot of you know of to keep root but I decided to go the safe route. I've been reading this site for a few days without seeing any apk for the new spark update... I think. Simply put is there a way to download this ota without waiting for it to come ota?

Everything I've read says you have to root and custom recovery to get it but keep in mind I haven't read everything

Don't see option to move apps to sd card?

I had an Active and remember seeing this. option in the settings (to move apps to sd), but I traded it in for a regular s4 and this phone doesn't have that option. If I check for a software update via att it says I'm up to date, how can I tell for sure though? I did try searching both xda and the web but I didn't have much luck, so please go easy on me, thank you....

From what I know, we haven't had that update yet. The active and international devices have it. I think there are options with rooting and roms.

Thank you, I'm using folder mount so it's not a big deal, I just always want to have the latest firmware. When the update does come out, will I be able to update over the air even if I'm rooted (by using OTA rootkeeper), or will I have to flash the firmware via Odin and restore everything? Thanks!

Yes, the developer updated his root method (can be found in the Android Development section of this forum) to support the post-OTA Verizon software version.

[Q] flashing roms with odin?

Will verizons note 3 owners have to use odin to flash roms?
Flash back to stock, then yes or to root. To flash custom roms we need a bootloader work around or unlocked bootloader

Wish it was as easy to unlock as my old phone which is still pretty new (Galaxy Note 2) Adam outler made it very simple with his Creation of Casual one click. Thinking of returning my note 3 and going back to my note 2. Wish there was a DEV edition of the note 3.

Not everyone who roots flashes a ROM. I root so I can use battery saving apps that need root to force close some system apps. I use some apps that require root for a firewall or call blocking. Have you ever wanted to freeze pre-installed apps, or even delete then? This list goes on and on.

Using I337 S4 rooted unable to install safestrap unable to parse issues. Any help
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I337 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
Ok everything worked good untill the custom rom flash.. It wouldn't leave the galaxy s4 screen.. So I had to re Odin the Damn thing because it didn't load safestrap anymore.. We'll. Odin failed for 2 Damn hours but after many failed attempts it finally got me back to NB1.. Then I refreshed NC1, installed towelroot and superuser and safestrap and changed to permissive.. Tried flashing a different rom (deadly venom) and every time I try to load it it just loads the normal firmware but on the custom slot.. So I'm not sure if I did anything wrong or if I should try a 3rd rom

I got golden eye to work on the main slot I think.. It's says that it's the build but it looks stock
Edit: after reviewing the goldeneye page.. It says stock look and feel so I'm assuming it's working..
