Just want to share battery life for my Xperia Z1 Compact with the community.
Usage history:
Received the phone yesterday, and restore my apps and charged the phone to 100%. Taken the phone off the charger before went to bed with stamina mode on.
Throughout the day, browsed news, watched and listened podcasts while downloaded some large size games on WIFI.
As you can see, about 15hr and 45mins with 5% left is very good result. Consider the phone was actively used for 10hrs and with screen on time of 6hrs 30 mins.
This is a phone can easily last one full day of heavy use without problems. It is hard to imagine another similar size phone with same house power can last from 8am to 12am with 10 hrs of active use and 6 1/2 hrs screen on time.
Hopefully it will get better after few more charge circles.

Sounds like a good phone battery life for its small size
I don't have screenshots for my first charge but I peaked at 7.5 hours screen on time with heavy usage. 10 hours awake total I believe.
For more normal usage It's been awake for 15 hours, sot 4 hours and still at 33% all whilst being connected to the Smartwatch 2.
Loving this thing!
From what I can tell on my first day, this has a better battery life than any other Android handset I have used. It just keeps on going. Hammering the camera today and I've got 60% left after 7+ hours and 3 hours screen time.

32 hours with 9% left. Forgot to take a screen shot. Used it for browser surfing, Facebook, email, sms and whatsapp conversations etc. No gaming.

When I went to bed last night, I had 12 hours total usage, 4 hours screen time and was on 55%.
Insane battery life.
The real test will be today when I am using 4g\3g all day.

Doesn't seem as strong today for some reason.
59% left, 2h on screen time, 11h 32m total.
11% of battery was drained by cell standby. Not using stamina mode.
as long as I don't use Whatsapp my battery lasts ages.. if i sit and msg for an hour or so it can drop 20%, i reckon on standby you would get 3-4 days which is pretty excellent.

When I got home and put on WIFI..... I ended up 3hrs screen time with 52% left. So we are back looking at 6hrs there with 15+ hrs usage.
It is quite incredible.
These numbers are insANE. I get about 4h on my LG Optimus F3 and that is supposed to be pretty good.

First time I got like 32 hours with 9 % left.
This second probe got me 28 hours with 6% left.
This is without 'Stamina mode' but with 'low battery mode', 'location based WiFi', 'queue background data'.
Next try will be with 'stamina mode'.
Wow, loving the battery life on this phone. My S3 manage to get through about 10 hours before being a recharge but the Z1c has been on battery for 12h 33 mins and still has 58% left. 46% of per used was by the screen.
This is with 2 hours of music, 20 mins of video and probably a couple of hours of Web browsing and checking of news etc. This was not on stamina mode.
It's incredible.

Xoom and honeycomb truly have the best battery life I have ever seen. I have been using mine for at least 15 hours straight and my batteries are still at 53% left. I've been using this extremely heavily with 3g on for like 10hrs and wifi for the rest of the time....gaming, web browsing, emailing, pulse reading, remote connection, and even some video!
According to my batteries,

Display 79% - 3hrs 57 min
Android OS 6% - 53 min

Agreed. The battery life on this thing is amazing, way beyond what I expected.
Been playing with it on and off all day at work, now, 13 hours later, I got 71%left. SICK.
I've been really happy with it too. Had it at work yesterday. I brought it to work at 90%. Connected my bluetooth headphones to it, streamed Pandora over wifi through the device to my headphones non-stop for 8 hours. Used it for checking personal mail and a little bit of browsing so the display was probably on for an hour of that time. Got home and the battery was at 65%. Excellent!
I feel like mine doesn't get nearly the battery life that you guys are talking about...using it constantly with the screen brightness turned all the way down it seems to be getting roughly 10 hours of continuous use on wifi.
Are you all rooted? I don't think that would matter but it seems as though im a little dissapointed in the battery life where everyone else is stunned. I had the screen off last night at around 50 % and this morning at around 11 it was at 11%.
Should I be worried?

(5minutes of wich i tethered my nexus s and used my 3g rather than wifi..which by the way was both just amazing) seriously, i kept switching back and forth with the camera to mess around with my sister...simply amazing.

Dude, that sounds about right. If you are saying you used it for 10 hours continuously with the display on (which is easily the biggest drain) then you did well!

lol. This made my giggle.
Anyway, maybe he was refering to having apps running (ie, pandora, browser, etc) with the display off for the rest of the time. Granted, the display pulls the most battery usage, but the device can still be in "use" with the display off.

What's the best way/time to charge?
How and when do you guys/gals usually charge your Xoom?
Plug it in every night to charge overnight
When it's almost dead (<10%)
Plug it in whenever possible
Other
Just wondering if any of these "techniques" will affect battery life in the long run!
overnight to charge usually. i havent been able to kill the batteries during normal usage.
Had mine off the charger for over 48 hours. Just put it on the charger this morning with battery at 10%

I'm blown away by the battery life on my Xoom. I left my charger at home on my last trip and went 3 days without charging, with moderate use I still had 20% when I got back home.
I personally charge every night, but I really don't have to. I use it at work, check emails, take notes during meetings, etc. Screen is prob on 4-5 hours a day. When I get home, more browsing, maybe some music. When I finally get to bed, I usually have >50% battery.
The batter is so good, I basically solved my one big gripe, which is power button. During a meeting when I know I'll take notes intermittently, I simply set the screen to never go off. It does kill the battery, but I have still never had a problem getting through a day.
The 2nd day I had the Xoom I stress tested the battery, used it almost the entire day, barely put it down. Got through 10hrs with 20% battery left, browsing on WiFi, some gaming, etc. Last night, I went to the American Airline Center to see the Stars, about 3 and 4 hours of hockey(went overtime then shootout) and only used about 20% battery in that place, which is usually a horrid battery sucker on 3G on my Droid.
I flashed bionix nexgen recently and it is smooth and very stable. I added bali kernel and right now im at 29% battery left with my battery status reading 2days 14hr 34m 22s . Of course I have a 3000 battery but in telling you with other Rome I never got long life like this.

I always ask how long the screen on time is when every one get "a good battery life"
No matter which rom I tried the screen on time is only around 2 hours when it died
Juicedefender Ultimate. It really works.
I'm on trigger been unplugged for 17h and 24m and screen on time of 1h 51m and have 32% left, but that's with brightness cranked up to 100%

Yeah I was pretty impressed with the battery life on bionix though I haven't tried the Bali kernel yet. Currently running CM7, 5-11-11 nightly. Unplugged 14 hours 10 minutes, screen on 2 hours 30 minutes, 20% left. Not exceptional but probably the best time I've gotten on a CM7 Vibrant build.
its pretty easy to distinguish how you got it
1. 3000 mah battery (double stock)
2. probably 20 +/- hours worth of it is when its in sleep mode (you're asleep and your phone hardly drains any battery)
3. your screen on time is probably less than 4 hours (assuming its double the 2 hours screen on time you get achieve on a stock battery)
Absolutely, those facts are all true. I am not trying to proclaim heavy duty use here. Im just encouraged to see the ability to go so long unplugged. I have done quite a bit of surfing, texting, youtube and calls. Im at 20% right now at 3days 10 minutes.

I have found out that my battery lasts about 8 hours if I have gps and wifi on. If i turn those off I get about 28 hours.
Also when I first got my vibrant I had signal booster stickers on it and those killed the battery like in 2 hours and made the device real hot for some reason.
stock battery, trigger 3.2
with a stock battery, and stock trigger, no modifications, I get 15-23 hours usage, more than enough for a whole 11 hour work day. Battery calibrated with the battery calibrate app

I once got 5 hours screen on time.
9% left total up time: 85hrs 31m bali kernel wins for me! Of course with the amazing bionix nexgen sweetness.

I use my phone an awful lot, I'm on it checking Facebook, texting, making calls, tethering etc. It's been off charge 1 hour now and I've been browsing for the past hour (without wifi) and now on 87% which to me doesn't look good.

17 hours doesnt seem that good tbh, specially as the screen has only been on for 3 of those hours.
Here's my battery life with around 3 hours of screen time. This also includes streaming Google Music over 3G for an hour.
As it stands right now with a lot of stuff syncing, my battery has been lastingover a full day with more than 3 hours of screen time.
If I use my phone heavily, I can still pull off a full days (work day) worthof use with a screen time well over 4 and just short of 5 hours some days.
This phone is definitely a win in the battery category.
I'm quite happy with my battery time... Tell me what you think

Really good battery life compared to my s2 with the samsung extended battery.
I wonder though if samsung will be releasing an extended battery for the s3?

i lowered the brightness , shutting down bluetooth and data ...etc
and still eats my battery

i did'nt buy a high level smartphone like this one to disable most of its magic wonder features and deal it as it was nokia 3210

What on earth are you guys doing to your phone? I'm disappointed if my screen on time doesn't reach 4 hours. That's with Bluetooth streaming and auto brightness on and about an hour of calls on average and a bit of heavy gaming.
I just flashed the latest CM9 nightly this morning, my phone was around 85% as you can see in the pictures below.
And I still have around 30% left with 3 hours screen on time.

On CM9 experimental from a few days ago, I got about 6 hours of screen time over ~ 20 hours plus streaming Spotify for about two hours. No screen shots because it is pretty normal for me :/ on wifi.

First touch screen phone I have ever owned that occasioally lasts as long as my Blackberry Bold 9700. Super impressive in my opinion.
I got my GS4 yesterday and charged it to 100% last night for the first time. Today I'm at 62% battery with only 1h 15m screen time. Is there a break in period? This seems kind of bad to me. I've used that hour looking at Tumblr a little, reading the news with Firefox Beta a little. Some light texting. Four songs on Spotify over Bluetooth during my commute.
The first two days were disappointing for me...then by the fourth or fifth day the battery lasted like a champ.
I'm experiencing the same issue, 31% 13h 27 min on time, 3h 2 screen time
My battery came pre charged @ 60%
Charged it and used it for about 17 hours with 4 hours screen time and it still had like 30 - 40 %
But ... I'm charging my phone that was @40 % and it's taking over 4 hours to charge that 60% ....
I saw improved battery life after a few days on both of my S4 so I would assume yes it needs at least a few days to break in.

Yea, the US version of this phone sucks down the battery in standby mode. Shame on Samsung for releasing this crap. I'm thinking about taking it back before my 14 weeks are up.
The issue isn't standby mode. I had my phone on overnight and it only drained 5% over 7 hours. It's when I started using it intermittently during the day that the battery started getting creamed. And it's on wifi, no less.
The battery life on mine is great, US version Sprint.
Currently 16% left, 12h 15m and 5h 30m Screen time.
Looks like a rogue app eating it up.
