New to droid pro forum but still very active in the xperia play forum - Droid Pro General

Hi forum as the post says I'm New to this forum but still very active in the xperia play forums as well, I just got my ex's droid pro (cracked screen but still good enough for what I want to do,) since its on 2.3.4 and freshly rooted my next objectives are for a recovery and to start bringing custom roms to this forum as well so since I'm not to familiar with droid yet I may need a few places for reference for recovery if possible thank you guys and I hope to serve this forum for awhile with roms

Ok another post lol I need a favor does anybody have a Verizon stock ROM (preferably the latest 2.3.4 gingerbread) as an update.zip? I was trying to port miui over for the droid pro but apparently I had the wrong updater script and now my droid wont charge,if I plug it.in to my laptop I get nothing but a wall charger boots up the Motorola "m" or I can enter the bootloader with volume Down+power button held but it keeps saying battery low I was able to enter the recovery with r+m+power button but I need a update.zip because if i unplug from the wall charger the phone dies.
Or would either the cm7 or cm9 build renamed as a update.zip work to recover the phone so to speaks? Please help me out so I can help you guys with New roms
My apologies for this as I am still accustomed to my xperia play and the droid is New to me.
An no I did not nandroid because it never occurred to me that I should even the I have done it a million times for my xperia play lol
Thank you and again I apologize

Use an universal battery charger. I charge my phone with one of these.

I'm trying to port jellybean experience to droid pro, but i don't know why, but the rom doesn't boot up, I'm made of all to do it and nothing, i guess i'll have to verify the lastest kernel, when you can begin with droid pro, if you want, I can help you. I have already built a rom for this phone, maybe it's kernel doesn't support jellybean.

AOSP-Like Gingerbread Rom (D2/DX?)

Is there anything like Fission for the Droid 2 or Droid X available that's based on 2.3.3? AngDroid has disappeared and I haven't heard anything from Team Defuse regarding updates. Makes me regret donating. I'm seeing a few new Gingerbread roms popping up for both the Droid 2 and the Droid X but they've all got Blur included. Any suggestions?

EDIT: This PC I have has to go tonight--so i'm going to have to work on this later tonight. Time to go drop off a previously b0rked Windows box. $$ though . I'll get back on this as soon as I get home! Also, I am no dev. I'm simply trying these out and reporting my findings, to help the dev's out hopefully. I might throw a quick tutorial together even though i'm sure someone else will beat me to it
If anything, i'll ask what it would take to get this stuff working on the D2. Sort of be the guinea pig of getting his DX GB ROM's to work on the D2.

This is not working very well at all. The phone has rebooted on me several times. I'm having issues with the market, and Droid 2 Bootstrapper. It seems to reboot when I go to install apps...SBF'ing, then trying again. Maybe clearing data after flashing DXtoD2GB.zip, but before the first boot will help?
You should wipe everything before flashing and mount system just in case
Try that

I'm running brrodcomb on a D2. It works great. The only two things I've notice are apparently the charge light and you cant add shortcuts to the home screen by long pressing on them in the app drawer. you have to go though the home screen.

I had to RSD it It's not clear from the OP, but I think he said he can't get it to boot right now.
Just a reminder that ORXT720 has a reinstall utility. If you use that after installing an untested ROM you're very likely to be able to keep OpenRecovery working.

Good advice Mz never thought of using it for that, I guess that was the intention for use lol. Yeah it won't boot as of now but I'm sure fjfalcon is working hard, like he said Moscow wasn't built in a day and surely our XT's are always under construction! lol.

AuroraMIUI Alpha

This is my first rom. I don't know if it's working, because i had to send my phone back. I need someone who can test ist.
Details
It's based on the Aurora ICS for the X5 and on the MIUI from ajhavery for the Desire Z. It's ported with the method of proxuser.
Bugs
It contains all bugs of Aurora ICS
Info
Q: Will it be supported?
A: At first i need to know if it's working. Then i will need a little bit of help, because i'am only 15 years old and have not enough time.
Q: Will there be updates?
A: Yes, when it's working i will release every time updates when the other devs update their roms.
It's my first rom so don't be hard to me if anything isn't working well.
Credits
Thanks to dzo for the Aurora rom
Thanks to ajhavery for the MIUI rom
Thanks to proxuser for his guide
Install:
I think you must do a full wipe.
Put the zip you have signed to your sdcard
Do a full wipe
Install the rom
Download
Mediafire
NOTE:
PLEASE READ THIS! THE ROM IS NOT SIGNED! SIGN IT BEFORE YOU USE IT!
It would be nice if anyone would be able to sign the releases, because none of the apps can sign it and i have not a linux PC.
I am not sure but I think it would be way better to try porting Desire Z ROMs because it has same chipset while U8150 has nothing simliar to U8800 except the brand
Well, its a beginning, thanks

When someone calls you..on the answer screen the contact pic shows up on the upper half of the screen, cutting off and severely distorting the image. \
Anyone else have this issue..or know how to fix it? Are there any answer screen options...i noticed the lock-screen style options don't work...
Also, I am using Go Lanucher...but every time I go into an app, then go back to the home screen, either via home button or back button, the launcher has to re-load it self, as it doesn't seem to be staying persistent in memory. I remember an option in CM7 to keep the launcher locked in memory...but can't seem to find it here in ICS..Setting the persistent option in Go Launchers settings has no effect.
BLN?
BLN doesn't seem to be working...
Also, the ringtone only plays once when somone calls...and doesn't replay...it also takes a few seconds for the caller id (contact info and picture to show)...\
Not sure if this is rom or kernel related.
after i install THS build 2, i go back in to CWM and the text at the bottom states that it cant mount /cache/
so when i factory reset it skips a lot of the locations.
is this normal?

Seems to be the norm lately dont it? A perfect example is all of the folks flashing icy glitch for build 6.0 for a build 6.5 rom lol. It amazes me that were on a forum that requires reading to comprehend but many fail to actually read lmao.

Beats Audio Now Available on Any Gingerbread ROM (CM7)

http://www.xda-developers.com/android/beats-audio-now-available-on-any-gingerbread-rom/
I flashed the zip in CM7 and it definitely made a difference in sound quality.
Edit: PM me if you want the file.
That is sweet! Can't wait for an ICS version.
Do you think it will work on stock Rom since its bbased on gingerbread?

Just make a backup and try it, if something isn't right afterward just restore your backup.
Thanks for the link, I flashed it and do notice some improvement
Tried to flash this on my stock 6.2.2 KF and was unsuccessful. Is it only compatible with cooked gingerbread ROMs? Thx for your help in advance.

I flash this into my ICS and it works. But really it is so hard to find the difference. If you want, you can give it a shot

Update: I used the download link from 3/2/2012
Sounds interesting. I always thought it was a marketing gimmick. Did it work on ICS too?
Not sure how people are making this work for KF. Tried several times through twrp and it didn't install. Did the manual push, which lead to my device getting bricked. I think I'm gonna stay away for now till the kinks get ironed out unless anyone with a KF can help me successfully install.

It tries to mount/open the file but then says it can't read it. Plus I'm on stock KF firmware, would that make a difference?

Yes. I believe the thread said it was for Gingerbread only, but some ICS folks had luck. I do not think there was any talk of the stock KF firmware, nor was it designed to install correctly on that firmware.
On a side note, it does not really install correctly on anything, must people just thought they heard a difference unless they went through the manual installation process.

Yeah when I read the original thread, it just listed GB ROMs as compatible and so it installed fine on my infuse 4G. Since I already was running voodoo sound on my infuse, couldn't be sure on whether the sound is really all the way different, but some songs and their bass sound a little clearer than before.
