Where does G1 Store the .apk downloaded via marketplace?

Where does G1 Store the .apk downloaded via marketplace? Ive been using linda file manager to go through all the files but i cant find where it puts them.
/data/app & /data/app-private
when i navigate to that location, nothing shows...just blank. How do i see the contents?
when i got to /data its blank...no other folders....
File Managers don't run with permissions to view /data, so it will show as blank. To view in Terminal Emulator, use su to get superuser access, then you can view the contents of /data with ls.
i thought that was what Astro was for to backup your apps to sdcard so you can copy them to your computer...if im wrong please correct me...i mean when i try it it force closes.
Has anyone found out yet how to run a file manager with root priveleges? If not, I may look at the source of OI File Manager and check out if it just uses the basic commands like ls and cp and try adding a su right before the very first ls command.

[Q] Change resolution on Gingerbread

Hello guys,
I have downloaded the SD ram [JAN 28][REL]Cope's SD HD2 Gingerbread/CyanogenMod7. The build is awesome and my HD2 is totally trasformed. The only thing that worries me is the resolution because icons and fonts are extremely small. I tried to find where to change with no luck.
Can anyone help me to change this to normal resolution?
Thanx a lot.
Download a terminal emulator from the market and do the following:
1. Open terminal and type the following code:
su
cp /system/build.prop /sdcard/
2. Edit build.prop, it's on your sd card. Use a file editor on your phone or do it though a computer, whatever. The following needs to be changed: look for "lcd_density" and change its corresponding value to 240.
3. Open the terminal again:
su
cp /sdcard/build.prop /system/
4. Reboot
already tried, but says cp: not found
any idea?
You haven't installed Busybox... Download Titanium Backup (free version will do), launch it, and there will be a rather small button called 'Problems?'. Click it, let it do it's thing, maybe reboot, and then try again, should work. Are you sure you're rooted? If you just installed this emulator, it should have asked you for superuser permissions after you entered 'su'. If it didn't, download z4root on the market and root your phone, reboot afterwards and repeat the steps in my last post.
If you don't feel comfortable about editing build.prop manually, try LCD Density Changer from the market. You need Busybox installed either way.
Edit: there's a free version too: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=765639, but the change won't stick after a cold reboot. Therefore you need the paid version.
Sincerely,
Mac
I downloaded the busybox through titanium backup but again on terminal when I enter cp it says cp: not found.
I search also the market for z4root application but market says it does not exist.
I have made the change on the prop file but I cannot copy it back on the system folder propably due to insufficient rights.
Is there any other way to copy the file back to \system since the cp command does not work?
Your problem is that you're not rooted, and without root you ain't gonna change any system file. Search for z4root here on xda or google and install it manually, or flash another rom which has root access by default (MDJ's Gingerbread for example - although sometimes you have to flash a second time).

It happens to me to at the first time, all you have to do is delete the files and paste them again.. xD if still didn't work, i'll post my files here so you can tried..
I have tried now, but it won't work. I would be glad if you posted your files :b
Have you set the right permissions for the files?
All files needs to be writeable. The easiest way to set the write permissions is to use root explorer.
Or if using terminal emulator: Chmod each file to: 777
After a lot of trying this worked for me:
1. Download xRecovery from here.
2. Copy three files to sdcard - xrecovery.tar, busybox, chargemon
3. Just in case, get Busybox from Market and install it.
4. Copy three files from sdcard to /system/bin - don't forget to mount system as r/w (you can do it with Root Explorer by simply clicking "mount r/w" button)
5. Chmod all three files to 777 - with Root Explorer, open context menu for file and select "Permissions" and make sure all 9 boxes are ticked. Or, use adb shell.
6. Turn off your phone normally.
7. Turn on and keep pressing back button, now you should enter xRecovery.

Here did you pasted those files? Didn't you already having xrecovery running well, before you reflash your phone?
Now you get the story:
First of all, i tried in hours to get xRecovery work on my phone. Then succesfully, in some unknown way, i made it work.
Then i screwed up, and deleted the bin, so my phone wouldn't turn on.
Then i had to use SEUS to get my phone work, and I did that succesfully. But it was only 2.1 now.
Now i want 2.2 again, but can't make xRecovery work.
Weee it works now D I have no idea what I did diffrent this time, but it works now D thank you all for taking time, to help me ;b
And you're using 2.1 android, right? Is it rooted? If yes, all you have too do (and before that, delete the old files that you already pasted, except busybox..):
-put the files on your sdcard root;
-go to root explorer and to the sdcard folder;
- forget it busybox, just copy the other files;
- go to system/bin and then select the W/R option;
- then just paste them e restart your phone..
Then press a few times the back key, right after SE logo apears.. If you did't get anything, go again to the bin folder with root explorer and see if was created a folder with the xrecovery name.. If yes, just try again pressing back key until you get xrecovery menu..

you're going to need to mount the system first. I believe it's adb shell -> su -> then something. Can't remember now.

Remove ku.sud from system

Hi,
I've unrooted my smartphone (Gionee Elife E7) , but was left a file back (ku.sud in xbin folder) that is impossible to clean completely the root track.
Whenever I try to remove it , it says "Operation not permited." I've tried to remove through a file explorer (EsFileExplorer) and also via a terminal emulator. The folder /system is mounted with read and writing permissions.

boot.emmc.win fails to copy TWRP backup

so im trying to copy my TWRP backup to my comp so i can wipe my internal storage for a cleaning. when i try to copy the backup the file mentioned above fails to copy. I tried pulling it with adb pull but im getting a permission denied error. Anyone know the permissions i need and how to set them?
same here. would love a solution. i get "unspecified error" when trying to copy this file from the phone to the pc.
tried to change the permissions to 777 via both adb and root explorer and get denied with both.
