Which Thread Might I Make an App Suggestion to Developers? - Verizon Galaxy Note 3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I would like to suggest an app to Developers. I know this is the wrong thread but I don't know the right one. I was going to suggest a live weather wallpaper app in which you could choose your own background. I love live weather wallpaper but hate the corny pictures they use as backgrounds. I'd prefer a real photo of my own area in the background for their clouds, snow etc or just show the sky and no land background at all.

Wallpapers...a little advice

The Nexus One is capable of using 16M we all know this!
But the stock gallery aka 3DGallery is not only limited to 65k but also limits the wallpapers set there to 65k, resulting with color banding and losing color richness.
I found a very helpfull app for free on the Market: Wallpaper Set and Save You browse for a wallpapers folder, then choose a wallpaper and set it!
Voila! you have now a rich 16m colors wallpaper of your choice, no more color banding
Wow, thank you! I didn't know there was a diffference between setting in gallery and WS&S.
I can confirm that there is a better color representation when setting in WS&S. It's not drastic, but it does remove the abrupt color change spots (color banding).
+1!
I don't know if anyone knows this, but on stock launcher, as well as Helix the home screens run a lot faster without a wallpaper (versus Live Wallpaper, or just static image).
To disable wallpapers just set the wall paper as a live wallpaper and open your favorite task manager app. End the process of just the live wallpaper, and not of the live wallpaper chooser. For most cases it should close out only the wallpaper and doesn't apply the default Nexus neural network live wallpaper. You should then have speeds comparable to Home++'s launcher, etc.
Of course once you reboot your phone or allow the wallpaper to reopen you'll lose the setting.

where can i get this wallpaper at?
btw have you guys seen the bokeh wallpaper? i personally love it and i think its better than the desire live wallpaper (i flashed the sense rom just to rip the wall from the rom but i am having trouble installing. its apk if you guys wanna try it)
Has anyone noticed that wallpapers are still banding with this app now? It used to work perfectly, but in the past few months (maybe since froyo? not sure) high gradient wallpapers are banding again, such as the HTC Desire rainbow, grey-to-white snow sceneries, windows7 betta fish wallpaper, etc. Anyone have any suggestions on how to make my wallpapers stop banding again?

You probably already found this somewhere else since it's been so long, but here it is. Sorry for the delay.
No problems at all, all the pics are working with 16m colors and no banding,it has nothing to do with FW anyway, the N1 is capable of 16m but it's the HTC heritage app ''gallery'' that is limited.
Use only Wallpapers Set and Save from the Market not the gallery or gallery 3D

awesome benefits of pure black

so last week I looked up dark levels on google image and found an epic one. used it last 3 days and increased my battery life by almost 2 hours.
use this shortened url or the qr i attached.
http://goo.gl/YRdDG
it looks great too. i really enjoy just how dark this is and i seriously think no light is being used when you have it exposed
cheers
I always used a pure black image I made with a paint program as my wallpaper on my Nexus One and my Galaxy S phones to save juice.
The battery life on the Nexus S is so phenomenal that I've actually been using live 3D wallpapers (like an aquarium) and similar without concern. I can easily make it through an 18 hour day on the NS without having to resort to a black wallpaper.
Still, I love the way a pure black background looks on the pure black Nexus S; I may go back to it just for the aesthetics.
Good tip, though!
I've been using all black every where possible for months, It really helps battery life.
Cyanogen web browser has a very useful all black option to turn all white pages to black.
Here is mine
Pure black created using Windows 7 Paint.
Good idea. Trying it to see hour much juice it saves.

Yep it looks business like
i always try to keep most of my themes black
but is boring when every thing is always black
so it's okay to have some highlights here and there ... at the expense of extra battery usage

I agree and with the beautiful screen on the NS, why not give it a little life
I hope battery technology will one day improve to the point where we don't have to help the phone save juice. It always bothers me there are these features which we can't fully take advantage of or have to turn off and moderate to get a phone through the day.
Having said that, my NS does quite well with battery, and I have WP Clock live wallpaper running.
Is there a good place to get black themed gmail, gvoice, reader, calendar, etc. to look like contacts?
Personally I think colorful backgrounds are kinda girly. Meet to see once. But I prefer the lookof the solid black. And I believe it shows our screens abilities perfectly and make the apps pop better that a cheesy background...

I know it's kind of cheesy but I really like the Matrix Live Wallpaper for that reason. It shows off the pure black and then you have the coloured characters falling all over the screen, it looks amazing on the SAMOLED.
+1 I love the super blacks of amoled.
Plus easy on the eyes and battery. What's not to love?
Solar Winds LWP, mostly back, but with flashes of colour.
Best of both worlds
Yes there's black themed MMS.apk and Gmail.apk in the apps/themes forum. Need root access to swap them though.

Ok, here is my list of apps and widgets that I use because of its level of blackness
- simiClock widget (replaced Beautiful widget)
- Jorte for Google calendar client (it has black theme)
- Pure Calendar Widget with a black theme
- Default google email client (it has black list, but not when reading email)
- Go SMS (terrific! it has dark theme plus we can change the background color)
I know, there are "specially modified" apps out there, but you need to root your device.
For non-rooted user like me, these apps are suitable to have some blackness.
Please share if you find other alternatives, especially email client

Live Wallpaper?

Does anyone know if xoom/honeycomb will support live wallpaper? I haven't seen any honeycomb tablets with a live wallpaper yet..
New ones probably bed to be made or scaled up.

I actually saw a hands on that had a live wallpaper running. It was a subtle one, not a whole lot going on, but the background was moving. The user actually selected wallpapers and you could see the live wallpaper option. It's going to come with it's own set of live wallpapers, just like all Android devices do.
I am really hoping to add a live wallpaper like I have on my Droid Incrediable - the Water wallpaper where the autumn leaves float along and if you tap it the water ripples.
I entertain easily....

Full HD wallpapers for 5" 1080p Phones?

Ones that are scaled for the mobile displays and not the desktop/tablet ones? Been looking to switch up my wallpaper a bit, but the ones I grab off the Internet just don't look good on the phone the majority of the time.

For the moment I am just rotating & cropping desktop 1440p wallpaper in Nova Launcher. If there are more 1080X1920 portrait wall paper I'd like to see them.
Try ZEDGE

I use an app called ZEDGE - you can download and install hundreds (thousands) of Hi Definition, awesome quality Wall Papers - I personally like wall papers that have a sort of 3d effect - with depth to the image - and I found quite a few from ZEDGE - You will find it here;
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=net.zedge.android&feature=nav_result#?t=W251bGwsMSwyLDNd
As an added bonus, you can also download free ringtones, notifications and alarms. I love it - good luck - hope it works for you.
If I have helped, don't forget to say thanks.
I posted in the themes sub forums that the correct resolution for the phone is 2160x1920. This results in the most detailed backgrounds. Personally I've found there to be a lack of wallpapers for my taste in this resolution so I resorted to the slightly more common 2560x1920 wallpapers. It crops wide, but height is perfect.

I found a nice website with a lot of 2160X1920 wallpaper for GS4 here :http://www.mygalaxys4wallpaper.com/gallery.php?gallery_id=21_Space&paging=0
Just updated my own Wallpaper.
pics work too; i snapped this one the other day, desaturated it, and cropped it.
I find good pictures then I make the HD background. For best support I crop and scale them to 1920x1920. Then it works for vertical and horizontal screen without anomalies.

Well, to get full HD wallpapers I can only recommend http://fhdwallpapers.weebly.com/ . The site is easy to use and browse, and it's commited to providing only vertical (portrait) 1080p wallpapers for mobiles; some high quality stuff there actually.
If you want full HD wallpapers with the status bar shadow effect (my personal favorite), then go to http://fhdwallpapers.weebly.com/shadows.html .

Do live wallpapers burn thru battery?

I have always wanted to try one as there are some really cool ones in the Play Store... I've always *heard* though that they kill your battery. Does anyone actually even use live wallpapers lol?
No they don't, how often are you sitting there with your phone on displaying the home screen and nothing else? If you are in an app or the screen is off the wallpaper is inactive so live paper away and enjoy!

You sure it doesn't run in the backround bro?! I feel like it does haha... any live wallpapers to recommend?
Take it from someone who ported the library to phones which didn't support it a few years ago. Live wallpapers only run while being displayed. They can use up more battery, but only inasmuch as you're displaying them in your launcher.
