GPMusic to Stock Samsung Music - Verizon Galaxy Note 3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello!
I'm using Google Play Music. Is there any way to save the files and use them in the stock player? I use the S View cover and would like to use the music widget on there but it only works with stock. Any ideas?
Thanks!

Do you have the files in a music format stored on your PC/available somewhere? I would recommend to create a Music folder on the root of your SD Card and play /shuffle from there is what I do, yet I use beat music player.

Thanks for the suggestion. That option is available, but I'm trying to manage it all from my device, so I can "pin" or make songs available offline, but play them in the stock player because I want to utilize that widget on the S-View case.
Thanks!

Best way to get itunes music to N7?

Looking for the recommended way to transfer itunes music to the N7. I don't really want to purchase any converters and I don't have any protected content. It's just that not all files are mp3, and they're in the itunes file formats. Been searching and have ideas, but figured this would be a great place to ask.

Download itunes agent, I've been using it on my incredible S for a year and its awesome and easy
Why not just go to your iTunes music folder under your user profile in My Computer and drag n drop. Shouldn't need to install anything.

doubletwist works perfect for me. Give it a try...
I downloaded the google music computer app which will upload all your iTunes music to google music. You can then either stream or download it to your device.

Is that only in the US?
Once you download and setup the app using a US proxy, you can upload and stream the music from anywhere

(Unable to) Play music with stock app

With my previous S2, I never really played music, for no reason actually. But now I got myself a fancy S4, I'd like to give that a try.
I installed a (usenet) nzb app and downloaded a nice music album containing MP3s. They were stored in a folder on the internal storage called Downloads, and I moved the folder containing the music files to a folder called Music (also on the internal storage).
I now opened the stock Music app to play the newly downloaded album. Alas, that album was not found.
I tried the stock app Play Music, but the same thing. My highly anticipated nice MP3s were not in there.
So my question is: what the hell do I do wrong?
Need I to reboot the phone so it might rescan the files on the internal storage?
Need I to put my music folder somewhere else?
My wish is just to play some nice music with the stock Music app.
Thanks, for I am a noob.

Hi,
Silly question.
After you downloaded from usenet, did you unzip the album?
I make a folder called MUSIC , and put it on my sd card.
All music apps find it without issue.

I searched the play store and found an app called Rescan Media. This did the trick! After the background scan, my music files were found in both the stock Music and stock Google Play Music apps.
Thank you very much!

The only thing that work for my (No media scanner) is VNC player.
In my stock music app and in Google play music app I can only see 10 song out of 1700.
Sucks!

[Q]: Can't find downloaded files anywhere

Hi all. Whenever I download a picture or a file, I can view it in from the downloads app, but it does not show up in the gallery, at all. Also I have a music app that allows me to save songs on the phone, and it saves them, but they can not be found anywhere, not on phone storage, not on SD. This all started after I installed an external Sd card. What can be the reason?

use a media scan app
And as for your music files, try using PowerAmp, it's a great music player that finds your music by scanning your entire device.

And the best thing with it is that you can set it to scan just the folder you put your music in, so you don't have to listen to ringtones when playing random playlists
Poweramp is the #1 player for me!

[Q] How to add /storage/extSdCard/Android/data/music to Music player?

I HAVE to use that dir to store my music, beccause that's the only dir that can be written to by 3rd party apps since android 4.4 (yeah great)
Now the thing is that Music player doesn't auto pick it up, even after restart. So, how to add the music from it to the player?
Would really appreciate some help
talk to me
Check you don't have a .nomedia in that folder or any of the parent folders

This is how I make the stock music player pick-up songs from extcard..
1. Make a folder named Media in your extcard
2. Make another folder named Music also in your extcard
3. Move all your music files in the Media folder in extcard
4. Then lastly move your music files from Media folder to Music folder in extcard..
5. Viola.. You had your music files pick up by the stock music player. .

Yeah that works of course but as it is obvious from the OP this is not a solution in this case, since other, deep folder HAS to be used.
So your post is USELESS.

Yes, cute, right?
Well, silence is better than ignorance. I mean i'm clearly stating that root dir folder won't cut it, so what's the point of posting that?
I mean I appreciate his time writing all that, but if he spend just fraction of that time actually reading my post....he won't be wasting his time.
Didn't like you

I know I use iSyncr to sync my music files from iTunes, and the latest version syncs on my extSdCard inside /android/data/com.jrtstudio.isyncr/music and shows up in Play Music just fine.
So I guess you may want to contact the developer to see how he does it and maybe come up with an app to solve your issue?
Alternatively, use something like PowerAMP that should detect the files just fine.

Listening to Music on HTC Ultra!

Simple I know!
I have all my music stored on a micro SD card. This used to play fine on my old HTC M8.
However, now I cannlt seem to find an app or similar to enable me to get to my music on the SD card. I like to be independant of 'The Cloud' or third party storage. Consequently, can anybody help me out whereby I can just listen to MY music?
Take it simple, 'cause you may lose me!!!
Use google play music, it is in the all application list.

Thanks, but it doesn't pick up my music from the SD card. Hence why I'm asking.
Hııım, weird. On the left menu settings- click on music library and all songs appears in the list. Mine shows all the mp3s. Maybe you need to reformat sd card

Ah, now that may be something. Checked some of the extensions on music files and they are showing .wma, not .mp3. Does that mean I have to edit all my files so they read as .mp3 or is there a magic way of updating them all?
