yes you will have problems.... and then youll be back on here for hours reading and praying you can figure out how to solve them
you cannot install an OTA with a custom recovery..... you have to be complete stock.... no mods at all like the hotspot hack either

Ok thank u

Maybe bad download? Idk that's how I did it, it was months ago though. Maybe you can't with the latest, not sure.

The md5s all check out tho so it shouldn't be bad downloads. It seemed to back up and restore fine but I couldn't flash sacs rom and couldn't flash a different recovery. In a sense can I re-download twrp by flashing another kernel with mobile Odin then using Goo manager to reinstall twrp?

SAMSUNG-SGH-I437 recovery bricked.

Currently I'm on CM11 working fine but my recovery is bricked. I did the Power-Volume Up-Home. Trick but it says recovery booting but after that it reboots normally and boots into CM11 though

Did you flash PhilZ CWM? As you don't have root anymore you will have to flash it via Odin. When you boot into recovery you will be asked if you want to install SuperSU again.
Alright I'll try. I'm trying to root it via kingo android root

Is everything working? PhilZ CWM is the latest and probably best CWM (based on 6.0.4.8) you can get. Why do you want to install a older recovery version?

Can I flash a non stock kit Kat Rom

I have the flashable through recovery version of stock kit Kat. Since I did not use a LG tool to flash it, can I still flash another non stock kit Kat Rom or do I have to downgrade. I still have twrp so I'm guessing I should Be ok, just worried about partitions.

Do you have custom recovery? Then yes. Are you referring to ROM's like CloudyFlex, etc?
Ya twrp, went to install Mahdi Rom for d801 and got horrible reception and no data, so was curious if it's a kitkat doing it.

Also, if you wish to use stock KK ROM's just wipe and flash away.
Yeah I flashed that and than tried a T-Mobile only modem, no auto rotate either so that might be the problem

How to upgrade!

So the last 2 times I have updated ota I have gone into a bootloop. I tried complete wipe then flashing kk modem then pa and pa gapps to only be stuck in another boot loop! At this point I'd just like to be able to get a 4.4 rom. How do I do it without bootlooping? Thanks!
Here's my software info!

Use this http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g2/general/d802-bootloader-changer-1-1-jb-kk-lp-t3104380
And then flash a KitKat baseband then you can install KitKat Roms.

Possibly, download twrp from blastgator it is bumped and doesn't need loki signature.

i did everything you said....how u said it.....and still..same thing "loki failed" i even updated twrp to new bumped twrp....idk maybe its because i didnt wipe.? i just wanna get back on kk because lolipop is killing me. i just got back into recovery and flashed the lolipop rom again to get my phone back on. this really sucks
If you really want to go on a KitKat ROM you will have to use the tot method to get to stock KitKat and then root your phone using stumproot/towelroot. Then use autorec for KitKat to install recovery then update recovery with blastgator twrp then install KitKat baseband then you can flash your KitKat ROM. Make sure to do wipe before installing new rom

In all honesty, if the method I have provided has not worked then flash back to stock KitKat and follow the guide I typed above.
