could u fix it? method pls

Is your phone carrier-locked?
Because certain phones can't access 3G/4G if it's carrier-locked.
Where do you live and what service provider do you use? Try changing between service providers to see if you can access 3G/4G with one of those providers.

serious issue on SGS-2 and 3g internet

i own a samsung galaxy s2 ordered from uk,
everything working fine except for this serious issue that i have been trying to resolve till now.
i have a monthly internet subscription from my carrier and it always been working fine on my iphone ( i mean here connecting through the 3g network ). but in the S2 .. i have to use Edge to be able to access the internet ( the mobile network mode must be set to GSM only ). whenever i switch the network mode to GSM\WCDMA auto , the 3g icon appears but when it tries to connect to internet, the phone automatically switch to Flight mode and i loose the network signal. and this happens all the time. till now i am only able to connect to the internet by switching the mobile network mode to GSM only which only uses Edge network .
i have tried every possible thing to resolve this issue but nothing worked for me. please help
What country are you in? What carrier are you on? What bands do they use?
location location location.
Where are you from?
And what frequency does operators in your region operate.
just curious, have you tried hard/factory reset?
i am from saudi arabia and i am using Mobily network.
mobily is using HSDPA network as well as Edge network.
i did a software reset and still the same issue.
phone information:
Baseband version I9100XXKDH
Kernel version 2.6.35.7--I9100XWKDD-CL161513
Build Number GINGERBREAD.XWKDD
crazy idea - is there any blocking going on in SA or with that carrier? Have you used another not carrier supplied smartphone successfully on that network?
I have been always using their 3g network on my iphone. And still there network only on edge connection on the s2. What i have noticed is that the saved apn sometimes shows up and sometimes disappears

Hi, very similar issue here.
For this four days since I have got my GS2 everything was just fine. The data connection and 3G speed was great. Yesterday, all of the sudden all got crappy. Could not display any web pages. It starting to display page but after few seconds pop-up window appear which say "Data connectivity problem. The server failed to communicate. Try again later"
Interesting that my gmail, market, xda app working fine as normal.
I'm in Ireland on O2 now.
Baseband version I9100XXKDH
Kernel version 2.6.35.7--I9100XWKDD-CL161513

Can someone help to solve the problem, please. Is it possible that something with the hardware is wrong? Broken?
I'll perform the factory reset and will let you know.
i just managed to flash my device with the latest EXE1 dated May 3.
and i am still facing the exact same problem.

You are right the 3G/2G connection is there but not permanent.
If I press the Internet icon the home page, which is 'Google' appears (sometimes) immediately. I think this is because the page is very light. If I try to open a regular page it loads 1/3 of the content or nothing.
i just hope it is a software bug not a hardware problem
Type on the dialpad *#*#4636#*#* and force the phone to HSDPA only on the dropdown menu. This is a hidden menu on the phone.
Isn't this carrier related?

Unfortunately not.
I have spoke to the rep in the store. They reset all settings for me but it didn't help.
Just to double check if he wasn't wrong I've put the sim card in to my N900 and all data worked fine.
Bad, bad...

I'm on Mobily network in Riyadh, and 2G/3G is working fine for me. I stay on 2G most of the time to save battery, but have tested 3G and got around 3mbps.
I have the same Baseband, Kernel and Build number (rooted)
Are you using "Market Enabeler"? It can change your APN settings, and you need to restore the provider setting.
just rooted my device.
still same weird issue.
issue again: simply whenever my device tries to connect to H+ , the device automatically enters flight mode and automatically disable flight mode so that the signal bars come back without H+ and when i check back the saved APN i see nothing there ( thought i was there before ). and this strange behavior disappears when i switch the mode from GSM/WCDMA auto TO GSM only .. after i do this the device connects regularly to Edge network and i can browse the net.
so basicaly for me i will be only able to use the device on Edge instead of HSDPA or 3G.
im really hoping for help from here because i don't think i will find any help outside of this expert community.
regards
try to make it on obligatory 3G (WCDMA only) and check if the problem still there ..
still same problem juffo
i have noticed that another post are poping up talking about almost the same issure.
i hope a new firmware will fix this

Possibly more of an Network issue than a phone issue, if it does it again, try switching to Airplane mode or toggle data on/off see if it works.
EDIT: I had data drop outs on my N3 and still have them on my N5, from what I can gather drop outs are a 4.4.2 issue. But as I said, it's possible it's your actual network also (PS: I have Three UK and O2)

4G/LTE doesn't work during phone calls as the UK does not have LTE calling yet. so that behaviour is normal, I'd put it down to a network issue if it's not switching automatically after a call is placed.

Loss of signal, no WCDMA/LTE, only weak 2G GSM signal - what is wrong?

Hello,
I have a huge problem with my Galaxy S5 SM-G900F. I bought it abroad and when I used it for the first time in my country I saw, that there is a problem with 4G/WCDMA connection. When I put my sim card to the phone and set all the preferences in mobile connection menu to "Auto" there is no possibility to call or to recieve calls (even if i saw signal strength meter showing some marks). I can only recieve and making call when I set "only 2G" option and manually select my network. But signal is also very poor.
What I have checked yet:
1. Other sim also doesn't work good.
2. After *#06# i saw my IMEI and it is the same under the battery and on the box (doesn't start from "00") so i think that it is not missed (efs folder).
3. Change firmware with KIES and ODIN for the other version - no changes. Also flash some other "modem" files with Odin with no success in better signal.
4. When im on the free air the signal strength is even at maximum level, but immidiately after going to my house - there is no signal. I saw also, that when im in the city i can connect with 2G network (only), but when im on a village there is no signal at all (even 2G...)
Do you have any ideas what can be wrong? Is this hardware failure? Maybe something with antenna? What should I do before going to gsm service center? Maybe i should change kernel and try some of the custom roms?
Thank you for your help.
regards
Mario

Messed up my radio settings on N9100 with *#*#4636.

My Note 4 does not allow to latch to 2g network when 3g is available. So I changed the settings in device info *#*#4636#*#* accessed via Advanced Signal Status. The problem is that i am no longer able to switch to hspa/3g preferred,/LTE/GSM auto back and even edge does not work when data is enabled for operator1 and 2 ON SIM1 .Data works when switching to SIM2 for operator 1,2 or 3.The problem is on two different 3g enabled sims of airtel and bsnl (already checked the sims on other phone). While 3g hspa works without any problems with a different hspa aircel sim(operator 3). This makes me believe the modem sim1 has not lost functionality to use hspa/edge.
Tried -
1.Clearing cache and data of several different system apps related to settings and network but nothing happened.
2.Factory reset
3.Kitkat 4.4.4 Rom flash via odin.
4.Lollipop 5.0.2 Rom flash via odin.
After Googling a lot : I think the problem is : the phone is not able to connect (establish a data connection ) on hspa so reverts back to UMTS for Operator 1&2 (BSNL & Airtel) . As far as i know UMTS does not allow data connection. I cannot understand why hspa/hspa+ still works for operator 3 (Aircel) . When i changed my settings from WCDMA Preferred to GSM only i was on operator 1 (BSNL) . When i tried reverting back to WCDMA preferred it switches momentarily to HSPA then tries to establish a data connection and reverts back to UMTS. Same behaviour is for operator 2 (Airtel). Both operator 1 &2 works with GPRS on SIM2 and EDGE (when change to GSM only with Advance Signal Status) on SIM1 . When not in "GSM only" mode it locks to UMTS and no data connection is established.
SAME BEHAVIOUR IS ON LOLLIPOP EXCEPT

Big problem with 2G

Hi everyone !
Lately I went to a place were 3G/4G was not reachable and it is there that i noticed that my brand new Moto X play couldn't get any connection in 2G (GSM) mode even if the place was fully covered with 2G/EDGE (GSM)...
In 3G/4G there is no problem only on 2G (GSM).
I tried in the settings to put 2G (GSM) only and I can not get any signal even now that i'm back home ....
I tried a factory reset from the recovery it did not work :crying: Do you have an idea on how to solve that problem ?
I also tried to use the sim card with another phone in 2G (GSM) and there it works fine with maximal signal ....
Thanks !
Hallo,
I did a test and I got the same "problem".
Turned 4G into 3G...no problem.Still connected..
Turned 3G into 2G....no signal.
Turned 4G into 2G..no signal.
You can try to switch networktype in *#*#4636#*#*
No time for me now....I will try it later on the day.

I just tried it and turned the networktype to "GSM only" then i got no signal just like before. If i try to use another type like CDMA/GSM it connects to 3G and works but still the problem with the GSM/2G....
Hi guys. I'm not experiencing this problem on my XT1562. switching between bands is fine and working on my device. What kernels are you guys using?
I'm using the stock kernel, I just flashed the OTA (6.0.1) from the stock recovery
Same Problem, more information
For my Moto Play X I have a very similar problem:
4G works, but 3G and 2G do not. If I'm connected to a 4G network, I see that there is reception and can use all data transfer functions. But when I want to do a call, I get a timeout. When I'm in a place where there is no 4G network available, I see that I don't have signal - but the network is shown in the list of available networks for manual selection.
As I have a dual SIM variant (stock ROM, not a custom modification or "upgrade") my second SIM does work like a charm. I tried now and swapped the SIMs - and it seems that just the SIM1 slot is having those problems. The same SIM also works perfectly in the second SIM slot.
I also tries to reset just the network settings (an option provided by the stock ROM) but this didn't change anything.
Next step I'm currently working on is doing a factory reset - will take a while until backup and restore will enable me to see the real result. I'll keep you up to date....
UPDATE: factory reset didn't change anything - will send phone to repair now. :,-(
