Tmobile on verizon note 3 - Verizon Galaxy Note 3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have a verizon note 3. I am on tmobile now. Using a jelly bean rom, I have everything working except for wi fi calling? Anyone know how to get it? or how to load a tmobile rom on the verizon note 3?
I tried loading a tmobile rom but the wifi would not connect?
Thanks,
Kevin

My first question to you would be do you have the correct APN configured for T-Mobile?

Wifi calling won't work for you even with a tmobile rom. Reason. It's tied into the tmobile service. However I've flashed a rom from every carrier and can confirm all but wifi calling works on non tmobile roms. Flash rom> flash wifi bluetooth data fix (find it on tmobile forum under international rom port) > flash kernel> flash csc files for your carrier (opitonal)

Would I be correct to assume that I would get 4g on metropcs with a sim because its basically tmobile?

Can you guys point me in the right direction to get the apn for LTE on metro? I've never set an apn before.

Out of curiosity, have those who have used T-Mobile SIM been able to get MMS? I found all the APN settings online in multiple places. Even used the APN from my TMO Moto X and can't get MMS to work. Always gets stuck in "downloading".
I haven't tried it on a bone stock TW ROM yet. Maybe issues with messaging apps on other ROMs??
Everything else works flawlessly. Even better speeds and signal strength than VZW in my area.

Won't see sim card.
I have a Verizon note 3 and it won't see my T-Mobile sim card. No matter what the sim won't register and I get a X over the signal bars. I already tried a Verizon sim and it works perfectly so I know it's not a hardware issue. Any solutions or ideas?

do a hard reset and then after that make sure your SIM card is the correct one its clean the contacts are in the correct position and then finally it should load up
if I may ask did you activate the phone when you first turn it on if not you're able to bypass the activation while using a Verizon dummy SIM card or no sim
once you load up your tmobile sim card in the top left notification area you should see where it says unknown sender is inserted
once you see this message you should be able to call anyone you'd like

Hey Kevin,
How about we trade phones an call it a day lol, i'm looking for a Verizon Note 3 since my company phone is Verizon (iphone5) - anyways my personal phone is a Note 3 for T-Mobile and was unlocked by receiving the password from T-Mobile (sim unlock) but still can't use it on Verizon. Msg me if interested please.
Thanks,
Daniel

So verizon note 3, can i use it internationally?
with the note 2 i rooted, flashed beans rom, then used hiAPN when I went overseas.
Note 3, much more difficult now?
Thanks~

You also have to change the Internet provider setting under network and select tmobile. There's a video about it on YouTube.

Just HSPA and no LTE issue.

I have an unrooted ATT S4 and an unrooted Note 3 on T Mobile which is unlocked that I use on ATT.
With the ATT simcard inside the S4 I only receive HSPA and no LTE service, with the same simcard in the Note 3 I get LTE service ( according to network signal info app ). I tried checking my APN settings on the S4 and it looks okay, infact I created another just to make sure.
If I try the *#*#4636 etc etc command the S4 shows WCDMA preferred only. It does not allow me to change to anything else. However, if I put another ATT simcard in the S4 LTE works, anyone care to explain what is going on ? This only started when I first went to review the previously mentioned network radio mode menu command.
Thanks.
I would think you have a bad SIM card. Very strange it would work in one and not the other.

You may have to factory reset the s4
Any luck on that yet? I'm very curious what the problem is with it.

No luck, the unit would only select WCDMA preferred with my ATT sim card inside of it. I did factory reset multiple times to no avail.

No sir, I did not. I have sold the S4 as I bought a note 3 earlier this month. The new owner tested it and he got LTE!

Can't be anything else can it ? I agree.
When the sim was out the S4 would default to its stock radio. I believe it was something like gsm lte auto prn or something.

I had the same issue..it's your sim card....I went to my Fido store...talked nicely to the guy at the counter and he gave me a LTE sim card which he normally charges $10 for....problem solved...if your phone supports the right lte band and the network operates on the same band...it's always the sim card

Can't get 4G to work.

I have flashed mine and my girls phone and 4G won't work on my phone. Hers works fine. I just reflashed to mdl took the ota mf9 update and then flashed sacs rom and kt kernel.
My phone is used and hers is a week old.

might have ruined something with the modem firmware.....might wanna flash stock and take it in.
Another difference is I don't have a sim in my phone. Would that matter? So I can't check mobile data in the navbar. Not sure why this occurred to me right now as we wait to eat.

You need a SIM in the device to get LTE. The SIM ID is how your phone identifies itself to the network to gain LTE coverage.

Got the last sim card at my local store. No issues with bringing the phone in rooted. When I got home the phone lost sim card access. Chatted with sprint and they had to add the SIM card number into their database. Everything works now.

Tethering on Rogers with AT&T Galaxy S 4

I've got a 32gb AT&T Galaxy S 4.
I unlocked it using the free and easy method via dialer (works fine for data and calling on Rogers now).
The phone works fine when tethering on AT&T sim card.
But when the Rogers sim card is in, it doesn't allow me to tether.
Is there any way around this WITHOUT rooting?

Sorry to Necro, but on Rogers ... if you have 1GB of data or more ... you automatically get tethering.
man I'm having the same annoying issue. AT&T s4 unlocked by code and I'm using it with Rogers right now. Not only I can't get the tethering to work I also don't get any OTA updates.

Verizon Galaxy S4 On ATT Network Help

I just got a verizon Galaxy S4 that was blacklisted through verizon but I got it to work with my ATT SIM Card by changing the APN however MMS isnt working. Calls and SMS is working fine and showing my number. My questions are how do I get MMS to work?
Also can I flash a stock TW ATT I337 ROM to the verizon phone being ill be using it with ATT without Bricking it?
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I337 using xda app-developers app
Make sure your APN includes the mmsc and MMS proxy settings. Also flashing an at&t ROM should work but you may get some slight issues.

T-Mobile GS7 on Verizon

I bought Galaxy S7 from T-Mobile and switch to Verizon network, however the phone does not connect to Verizon network, it connect to AT&T and even when I try to use my international SIM card it works just fine except with Verizon.
I flashed the modem image of Verizon Galaxy S7 and I was able to get 4G LTE signal but no phone calls or SMS I tried to flash the Verizon image with no luck it gave me about the PIT file, I tried the TMobile PIT the Verizon image was larger than the TMobile partition.
Can anyone help me figure out which image or what partial image I can Flash to make the phone capable of using the Verizon phone network?
Hardware isnt compatible. Verizon is cdma tmobile/att/cricket is gsm. Been down that road. Cricket now has an unlimited lte plan for 65$ thats where I went. Best deal out there and prepaid, bill is always the same every month
Sent from my SM-G935T using XDA-Developers mobile app
There were differences before, but this isn't the case anymore, Verizon is GSM/CDMA today, and they default to GSM, and as for the GS7 there is absolutely no HW difference between the US market versions.
Can someone help me figuring which image contain the drivers/code that control which frequency the phone chip connect to.
To be more clear modem.img in android control the 4G/3G driver, what control the voice transport driver?

APN settings control data link, not voice link.
FYI I have right APN .

This is not true anymore, that changed when they started using sim cards.

Does the TMo version support all the LTE bands that Verizon has? Also, in the case you don't have LTE service, you won't get 3G at all, since Verizon doesn't support HSPA at all.
Sent from my SM-G935T using Tapatalk
The CDMA radio on board isn't compatible with VZW voice network. This has been true for ages. VZW won't let a non-vzw certified device on their voice network because they literally don't have to. If your device supports compatible VoLTE that might work as it sends the call over GSM but if you ever lose LTE signal you won't be able to use that side of the network.

Flash through odin doesn't require unlock bootloader. From what I have read. All four carrier can flash to each other without trigger anything.
N/a
When I try to flash using Odin, I get a message saying that the system image is larger than the partition, I tried to use the Verizon PIT to partition the storage with no luck!
