Full Details about latest 4.3 XXUGMK6 (BTU) Official - Galaxy S III General

Full Details about latest 4.3 XXUGMK6 (BTU) Official
So basically I decided to publish this thread about latest official( Un-rooted STOCK) 4.3 XXUGMK6 (BTU) Official firmware.
I tested this firmware as already many of you already did. But I find some bugs or 'Mistakes' in the firmware.
]DETAILD ISSUES
1.) Music Player (STOCK)
-Adapt sound option enhancement is not added in galaxy s3 4.3 firmware. But in GS4 it is present.
-Music playback is not well. You might find playback is fluctuating at some point. I performed hard reset and then tried again but still it is present. and Even tried on my other gs3 4.3 and problem still occurs although it is occasionally happening but its still present. My other friend using S3 have same problem So i think its a Music player problem.
-Share via option has been removed from music player. ( see the attachment).
2.) Very high RAM usage.
- In previous version 4.1.2 XXEMG4 ram usage was actually normal. But I find that 4.3 JB has more usage than previous one.
3) Poor battery performance
-I hardly get 18 hours battery in normal usage. and with gaming and wifi its about 12 hours.. All other custom roms out there (even CM) has far better battery performance.
4.) Setting FCs
-In setting -> Security-> Sim alert change. is not working. My setting menu keeps force closing. and my both S3 has got same problem . I performed HARD reset but still Its a BIG BUG.
I attached screenshots.
and Yes there are no GS4 Goodies like "SMART FUNCTIONS","LENS EFFECT","CAMERA",etc.
at least they should give us 4.3 360 degree feature. But no. its not.
Well there are some good things about this firmware too.
1.) Graphics are really improved You can easily feel the change while playing games and watching videos.
2.) Some how transitions effects are smooth than previous 4.1.2 .(till now)
3.) New Touchwiz theme looks pretty decent.
4.) and other few.
Basically I wanted to know that what do you think about Samsung whether you are gonna update your device with same company or swicth? because I felt they just ignore previous FLAGSHIP phones just to improve there new ones.
Please add your review about this firmware too in posts.

Try lastest ML2 firmware or neat rom, and greenify apps like facebook and facebook messenger, turn off S-voice, turn off google play service, and basically turn off everything else your not using, then restart the phone and see the ram difference, if still high open application manager and check whats running and close it.

Official O2UK I9000 JM1 Firmware update now available via Kies

This morning Kies was telling me my device could not be updated, but I happened to check this evening and a new notification appeared saying that the JM1 update mentioned in a previous thread was now available - I was on the stock O2UK JF1.
Having installed the update, the GPS button in the pull down task bar is a new thing plus the new Samsung task manager, although these have been mentioned in the other thread already. The task amanger shows how much RAM you've used out of 326MB, but early signs are that it's no more efficient in freeing up RAM than was the situation on the JF1 ROM I had previously. Still I'll see how things go tomorrow. Having said that, the task manager widget is quite nice.
The Samsung App store also seems to be working now, as it kept giving me error messages on the old ROM. There's a 70MB full and free version of Asphalt on there which I'll download tomorrow. Another definite improvement is the music player, which previously couldn't handle the 1000+ artists in my digital audio collection. In fact it used to force itself to close when I pressed 'Artists' before. Now it's listing all the artists and grouping all albums/tunes for each artist correctly.
Apart from that I haven't noticed anything else so far, although the phone's reception might be a bit better, but I can't confirm that yet.
hi are you on O2 contract?

Yeah, I'm on a full 24 month contract with O2UK, and I bought the phone directly from them.
As an update to what I said at the start of this thread, I now realise I had test mode activated when I used Kies to update my phone, so this may not have been an 'official' O2UK update after all. It seems test mode doesn't turn off when you close Kies: CTRL+U+P is in fact an on/off toggle for test mode. Nonetheless, the JM1 update I got has all the O2 stuff I had before and settings, so I would definitely recommend it to anyone who's on an O2UK contract with an older stock ROM as it's better for all the reasons I mentioned previously.
I've also noticed that the new stock task manager in the Kies JM1 update doesn't seem to allow the phone's RAM to drop below approx 50MB (or 275MB/326MB). On my previous stock JF1, Advance Task Killer often showed that free RAM had got down to approx 30MB on some occasions, which was when things really started getting noticeably laggy. Now when I leave open 10+ applications, the RAM used won't go beyond 275MB/326MB, which suggests the system is closing background application/services automatically at around this mark to maintain performance. I might be wrong on this, but so far I haven't seen the same lag issues I had before with black screens lasting 5 seconds or more, but others might need to confirm that
The only thing I don't quite understand is what the coloured green/yellow bar is for in the new Program Monitor widget, although the active applications count in this widget is really useful.
Coloured yellow/green bar shows that there is no battery draining app is running at the moment. It will change the colour if there is one or more battery hungry apps are running.

could anyone post the firmware with the option to flash it via odin please?
i just upgraded to this jm1 from stock jf1 i had to also do it in test mode as it wouldnt allow me to update otherwise
i have since used gps test and it locked on to sats much quicker and also more of them this was also done whilst indoors

Same here, mine came up with the "this phone cannot be updated" crap. I'm still going to install the lag fix though, it made a huge difference with the jf1 firmware.

Cyanogenmod 11 For Galaxy S4 LTE-A

The thread can be found here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2691639
I am new to posting to this site (have been using this site for many things for my devices.)
I have a Samsung Galaxy S4 LTE-A SHV-E330S, and I have installed Cyanogenmod 11 following the instructions there. I have seen a couple of bugs, so the intented purpose of this thread would be to report any issues to help the developers improve this awesome ROM for future updates!
By the way a big thanks goes out to the creator of the above thread! My S4 is running so much better!
So anyways I have a couple of bugs to report:
1. Bluetooth. In the stock ROMs from Sammobile, I was able to connect multiple devices at a time via bluetooth. (I have a rooted Galaxy Gear.)
I used to be able to control my car DVD player functions while the watch was connected through the phone, phone connected to the DVD player, take calls, etc. Now I can only control my DVD player with my phone if the watch is disconnected first.
2. Random reboots. I think this might be due to the clocking capabilities of the kernel from arter97. Performance is great, but anything more than the Power Saving profile, with min 300mHz max 2.3gHz (stock clock,) the phone reboots at random (probably while CPU under load, because it reboots more often with Performance profile selected and gets pretty hot.) So I don't know if it's the kernel stability or protection feature within the CPU itself.
3. If I modify anything in the System folder (specifically System/App or System/priv-app) some things revert to default like start-up settings and I have to re-root the device again because I lost root. Other non-root app settings aren't affected.
Other than that I will update if I find any new bugs and anyone who found bugs not mentioned here feel free to post! Big thanks to the Developer of this ROM and be looking forward to all ROM/Kernel updates!!

Tweak for N900 Stock Lollipop to fix memory leak and battery drain?

Hi guys,
I ordered a GNote 3 and I'm really excited. But I read a lot of stories about the lollipop really buggy, memory leak, and battery drain. But I don't see many comments about these in the ROM thread, and someone mentioned that they like Stock lollipop better than CM12. Does this mean stock lollipop for Exynos is working fine? I don't have the device yet, so I have no way to try out yet myself, but I plan to flash my desired ROM right away when I get the phone. It could be one of the TW lolliop ROMs or CM12.
Just a note that I would love to run lollipop, and not kitkat. So could you please advise around that? Are there tweak that people use to fix the issues?
Thanks!
Hello!
Right now I have over a month testing the stock LP ROM on an exinos device, it has been quite a good experience, the ROM is very responsive, and although it has a huge memory leak (I have found my device running on RAM as high as 85% with no running apps, just running the processes needed for the OS to run) nevertheless I can harddly notice any lag n the system, I use Clan Master to monitor RAM usage, when I find my device I use the clean now feature, and the RAM usage goes back to around 60-65%.
On the battery subject I run my Note 3 paired via bluetooth with a Gear S, and I am getting between 20 to 24 hrs. Of continuos use, so taking into account I am always running with bluetooth on, I think I am getting a pretty decent usage time, I would like to let you know that I mustly connect to the internet via WIFI, only use Celllular Data when driving or in places where there is no WIFI available.
After installing LP ROM I went straight to rooting my device and installing Titanium Backup in order to be able to debloat, I have managed to uninstall APK that I found useless for me, and got rid of them, also I use Greenify and I have greenifyed every app not essential, I also use Startup Manager ( Free) to get control over what apks startsup.
Finally, I use tasker to get control over how my device handles the changes between Cell Data and WIFI.
I hope you find this information useful, and please excuse my english!

Some Strange Issues in Videos

After using Galaxy S4 (I9500GT) for almost an year with lollipop, I recently shifted to Note 3 (SM-N9000). As S4 was a perfect companion performance wise, even in Power-Saver, I was expecting Note 3 be atleast the same if not better. However, I am facing a few issues mentioned below:
In Multiwindow mode, the video sometimes lag when I focus on other application. Then I need to restart the phone.
Sometimes while in fullscreen, with no heavy app in background (I play no Asphalt or Modern Warfare), my video starts lagging heavily.
Sometimes there is a slight Audio/Video sync issue.
I do not know what to do. Power-Saver turned off-on-off several times, no positive results.
The same never happened in my S4
NOTE:
I keep on changing ROMs, but I always clear everything and this happened on stock which I flashed through ODIN with "Erase NAND" enabled. So this is always a fresh install.
Please help
Also guide me on one thing. As I have used Samsung for years, I now know which apps to safely disable. On TouchWiz-Lolly, I disable almost 50 apps on my Note 3(like I used to do on my S4). So it is quite lag-free overall(except videos). Now I am getting a SoT of around 6.5-7.5 hours with 30-50% brightness. Disable every useless TouchWiz feature like sensors
I do not use location frequently, and keep switching between WiFi and 2G(Yes, 2G).
Is this battery performance decent, or do I need any more tweaks?
Thank You So Much For Reading
I use nova launcher, its way faster then stock samsuck.
Disable all animation, they add lag.
Video-Use MXplayer with hard acc ON, and same for bsplayer.
Regarding app , you mean unckeck from startup( like msconfig on PC) or disabled from ALL/APP?
From all/app disable only crappware like: yahoo new, bloomberg or something.
On startup app you need to unckeck them, with android tuner. Disable all games, and apps that do not need them in memory ram.
Even my tegra 2 asus sl101 tablet get some lag on video , but with hardware acc ON is quite ok.
My n9005 with lollipop is identical with wife n9005( 4.3 android) except one: lollipop start videos faster, in any video app.
Disabled from All Apps

Any reviews for Stock Firmware 32.2.A.0.305

Hi
Just wondering how those running Stock Firmware 32.2.A.0.305 have found the phone to be working?
Any issues or improvements with:
- battery life
- overheating
- phone/wifi signal
- fingerprint sensor
- camera photo quality
- Bluetooth music jitter
Or anything else?
Thanks
R
I'm running Heptyle's kernel, .305 Custom DE and debloated with script.
I haven't reached conclusions yet but so far I think my battery life is better than .253
During app installation (clean installation) I got the feeling it ran less hot.
No further differences until now regarding to your other items.
I'm only going to run STOCK I'm not going to root the phone.
Nothing special here.
Volume for notifications got fixed. And security level is aug 2016 (shame on Sony)
The option to enable the google now pane in the Xperia Launcher (beta?) is back. Note that I did join that Google+ group for getting beta updates of the Launcher.
Camera format settings were reset for me after the upgrade. The version of the app is now 1.0.C.2.7 but I didn't check before the upgrade what it was.
So far it's been smooth, but nothing notably new.
Feels just about the same in all regards
I'm running 32.2.A.0.224 and heard bad things about .253 so have not updated.
I upgraded to the latest one (.305) from EE (UK) on Thursday, and accidently bricked the device (took over an hour to upgrade and so I forgot it was upgrading - d'oh) so have ended up with a clean install.
- battery life : At this time of the day I used to be at 52% (.253), currently 80% (has been off charge for 5 hours so far), was pretty poor for the first two days while Google Play music was hammering the WiFi connection downloading music (why can't it see what's already on the SD Card - argh!), but still an improvement of .253 which was appalling.
It used to be that Google Play Services and Android System were the top users by a country mile - today it's Screen (27%) and Beyond Pod (9%)
- overheating : Certainly running cooler
- phone/wifi signal : No issues before or since
- fingerprint sensor : No issues before or since
- camera photo quality : No issues before or since
- Bluetooth music jitter : As solid as it has been since the last upgrade, i.e. Bluetooth is problem free, Wired occasionally jitters approx 20 minutes after losing Wifi.
Or anything else?
WiFi Calling still temperamental (i.e. needing a reboot), less of an issue for me now I have VoLTE and new masts cover work and home better.
Thanks very much for that excellent and detailed response
I hope this will fix things. On .253 I'm having issues with the finger print scanner, saying hardware is unavailable after long periods of not using the phone. Also, the camera crashes when trying to take a video. gifs and videos on apps such as facebook or youtube doesn't play too. Restart fixes things but it's annoying that I have to do it at the start of the day, every single day. Would love to hear from somebody with same issues who upgraded from .253
I updated to this and done a factory reset (I always do this after installing new update). My device for more than 10 hours now has problem with volume.
If I play any music (on full volume) for more than 1 seconds the volume level is reduced dramatically. My phone has never been in contact with water or anything. As of now I have turned the phone off/on and still no difference. I have used Google Play, Spotify and the same problem occurs.
On the other hand it doesn't heat up. Battery life seems a tad better if I recall so far. Other than that no difference apart from a message I got about battery charging.
Seems to be the hearing protection. New build.prop in .305 is without persist.audio.hp entry. Just re-add it to build.prop (persist.audio.hp=false), reboot and should be working again (you need to be rooted).

Di you have Root?
Ever have problems before?
Yes, I'm rooted (just check tobias waldvogels rootkernel thread), but you need to have unlocked bootloader first (don't forget to make TA backup!).
i found that the phone gets warm (more than previous firmware) when browsing the web using chrome.
i noticed that the sony email client doesnt check/update as quickly enough compared to previous firmware.
i did notice couple of things have been fixed, but my overall suspicion of this firmware is that it introduces more issues than it fixed.
also some kind of security has been introduced to stop you from hiding apps such as the quick apps bar.
im also curious why sony introduced that "battery optimization"? has it to do with maybe the batteries starting to bubble hence causing the back cover to crack? so by reducing the charge amount it sort of stops that from happening?
im also running stock firmware.
I would appreciate you come back w/ a review after a month of usage. If you have been using Android for a significant amount of time, then you know that it's always good in the beginning. I don't think much stock should be put in a review done after a day besides ease of installation and (maybe) initial impressions, imho
ive gone back to .253 firmware. this previous version seems to work much better on my australian z5 compact.
no heating issues. battery is better. email app works better etc. etc.
yes it does have the annoying low volume and a issue with the sms app (when trying to add certain photos). but overall to me it works better than .305 version.

Which Script you are using to debloat?

A few weeks ago, I tried this. From @FcukBloat
But for me it didn't work. When I flashed, I got a message that the zip was corrupt (which I can't believe, and it's not the first time this happened). And I also had a problem with Online Nandroid, so in the end I had to redo it.
This time, I just did manually what the script should automate. Next time I'll figure out how to build it myself, if I'm smart enough.
So after a week of 305 vs 253 - I've managed to get through to the end of the day without needing to charge one or twice throughout the day every single day, the phone is running much cooler (i.e. most of the time there is no heat detectable), and is also less laggy, especially when launching the camera. Battery life is getting better by the day too - now at 60% (after being off charger for 12.5 hours) with Google Play Music, twitter, and an hour of MapMyWalk (so GPS usage) - on 253 I'd have been below 20% at this point of the day.

im also going pure stock unrooted locked bootloader ,at least till warranty void anyway\ OR the phone become really slow for some reason, and root will help
example: this phone got only 2GB RAM which very bad multitasking , and heavy apps like CSR2 left my phone with only 200MB .
so i guess il need more Swapfile\Z-ram @1s

BTW
305 still didn't released in my state anyone got idea how to check when it will come out? it is possible?
