If your phone is on MK2 firmware then you already tripped the knox counter. Boot into download mode to check.

I don't know why it would say 0x30? If you tripped the knox counter then it was say 0x1 an your warranty will automatically be void. What's going on with your phone? If you were an early adapter of the S4 and didn't update it, you don't have knox.

It's running 4.2.2. It does say 0x30. Whats Knox?

[Q] Stock installation with Knox 0x1

Hello everyone
I am now on CyanogenMod and I'm kinda sick of this "clean Android" and would like to go back to Samsung's TouchWiz.
The problem is I tripped Knox to 0x1 when I moved to CyangoenMod.
Can I go back to Stock or the Knox won't allow?
What procedure do I need to do to go back to stock?

Yup Just flash the stock rom and you should be fine and about Knox , dont worry about it because your phone is already voided , nothing else you can do about it until someone figure it out to reset it..and about the triangle away you can use this once you rooted your phone so that your Binary will be reset.

So after I install the stock I don't need to use Triangle Away?
Will I be able to receive OTA updates even though my Knox is 0x1?
Hi,
forget OTA updates,
and use always Odin for the updates.
It's better and faster
Yeah I know about it but anyway, will I be able to get OTA updates? And do I need to use Triangle Away after stock installation?

It's just a binary number. When you root your phone
1. Your device status will be CUSTOM
2. Your Knox code is tripped
Bad news is there's no turning back here. You will void your warranty and all Knox security feature. Currently, it's impossible to reset those flags
Good news is no one care about those craps, welcome to Knox Tripped Club and enjoy your freedom
Thanks!
But i wanna know if i can turn back to OFFICIAL and if (4) erase or always stay with Knox 0x1 (this don't care but these (4) i never saw :S)
EDIT: (4) can be number flashed device?

As I said.
It will always stick with CUSTOM, you can't turn back to OFFICIAL
KNOX warranty will always show 0x1 (4), no matter how many times you flash

Knox always show 0x1 (4) ??? Only on S5 or 4.4? Because with note 3 or S4 only show knox 0x1 without other number... I'm lost xd
Thanks for your help!

Don't worry about that bro, it's already there since the very first time your phone rooted. One way or another, that number (4) will not increase or decrease

Yes if you install an official rom the status'll be changed to official and now you can use Private Mode without any problem, and use the OTA updates.
Regarding the 0x1(4), yes it will always show that number no matter what you do.
I've 3 S5 rooted and all of them show different numbers after the 0x1...

I have a S5 Duos, I root too, and stayed that way!
For the status of the Roma back as original, use the Triangle Away app (by your own risk).
Have Knox counter, will be even as it is, does not like change.
My Knox shows 0x1 (0) with Samsung Oficial Status

Un-Root S5 GM-900F with Odin

Hi,
Its been a few years since ive Rooted or been ontop of the forums ect.
Just wanted to let other people know my experience with Un-Rooting my S5 GM-900F
- Rooted with Odin + tar file
- Un-Rooted with Super SU
- Typically their is now an update available but cannot update as Samsung recognise that the phone was previously rooted.
- On a PC or Mac download Kies and update.
- Nothing has flagged up with any counters, did not experience any problems with KNOX
Hope this helps everyone.

Using CF Auto Root increases your flash counter and trips the KNOX warranty flag!
Unrooting with SuperSU and updating with Kies have reset the KNOX WARRANTY VOID to 0x0?!
Until now, it was impossible to reset KNOX!!!
Please confirm

Not true, KNOX will still say 0x1 after unrooting, he probably means the system status and binaries are reset to Official again.

Hi,
Well the uninstall of SuperSU went ahead with no problems, a box did flag up saying something about would you like to disable KNOX before continuing and just confirmed it.
Since the Un-Root, i have just opened KNOX again and havent had any problems at all. I did complete a factory reset just for my OCD needs with it and nothing has been triggered and no flags or counters. Still have the KNOX app with the set up wizard client available to get it going if i ever need it again so..
Didnt realise that people where having a problem with KNOX if im honest, when i finish work i shall have a play around with it and update this if i encounter any problems.

This might well be the case, i dont fully understand all of the tech terms regarding the binaries but only have a little knowledge when it comes to checking the counters and any flags or problems.
- Say for example that KNOX was tripped, a) What would happen and when/where would i encounter a problem and b) Is their any detrimental effect on the overall phone or just for KNOX?
Regards.

KNOX, Private Mode and off course warranty are affected when the KNOX void flag says 0x1 and you are rooted. If you unrooted correctly as discribed by the OP Knox and Private Mode should work again after you flashed a stock rom.

Hi,
Well KNOX is working as it did the first day i got the S5 and havent encountered any problems nor seen any flags. IF their were to be a void flag 0x1 where would i see this?
I was just nosing around on the forums and saw that alot of people were Un-Rooting via SuperSU and then using Kies to then boot the stock rom.
Thanks for your help and advice. Sorry this seemed like a dud thread!

KNOX is only tripped intentionaly (not by accident), that is if you root with CF Auto Root or flash a custom recovery or kernel with (Mobile) Odin.

Ok no worries. Completed the Root with Odin v3.09 i believe, did not flash any custom roms or anything was just playing around with xposed installer, Mobile Odin was never used.
Not sure if that makes any difference?

As you live in the EU warranty for the device is still valid when rooted/tripped KNOX unless the manufacturer can prove the issue is caused by rooting.

Hi,
Oh right i didnt know that. Is it just within the EU that the warranty is still valid? Are their any other countries that are the same?
Just a general question then, with regarding the voidance of KNOX or anything, would that only effect me if i wanted to send the phone back for whatever reason? The counters for example wouldnt made a difference for my phone and daily useage anyway so if i just keep the phone and continue to not having any problems i could have as many counters on it as possible?
Just getting my head around the whole void/counters thing.

I have currently official status but Knox 0x1.
The one & only thing concerned then is warranty. Knox based apps and all others should work as before Knox 0x1.
Hawke84 said: "If the Knox warranty void line says 0x1 then you cannot use knox softwareas your device has been flagged as insecure. By this i mean that if your workplace / company supports bring your own device to work for corporate emails etc and they use knox to keep security your device will not allow this. You are still able to use future samsung firmware releases with the knox flag 0x1. hope this makes sense. sorry for any confusion this has caused!"

Software tools say it has. But after flashing different roms and recoveries gazzilion times mine still says 0x0. As you can see from the screenshot even atm I am using cm12.1 with TWRP recovery and it hasnt done anything to the counter. Heres another screenshot from Phone Info app. Now the since this app detects knox warranty void on models like s4, s5 and as far as I know s6, I highly doubt samsung went thru the trouble of putting some undetectable warranty counter and a mid range device such as our S3 neos.

I rooted mine the second day I got it (I got it somewhere around January). So far havent had any problems with it and the knox (if there is one) still says 0x0. That said rooting and flashing custom recovery is still something that may potentialy harm your device so its up to you to decide. Dont take my words as 100% proof everything will be ok. Maybe indeed w8 for a few more ppl to say if they had any problems with knox so far.

Yep! Your warranty will not be void as long as your device is running a stock rom when you turn it in. You can check your binary counter by going to download mode.

I'm not talking about Knox Counter but I'm talking about Binary Counter which every Samsung phone already have and keeps track of how many times a custom firmware had been flashed. And as far as Knox Security is concerned there is still no way to reset Knox counter but fortunately S3 NEO don't have it.

Updating my phone.

Hello guys i really need your help.
Im using BOD3 Firmware version, there are a lot of new versions,i was rooted knox 0x1 (2),and then i unrooted through SuperSu.How should i update my phone, via Kies,SmartSwitch,or Odin?I wouldnt prefer odin cause it flashes stock rom and my flashcounter will be knox0x1(3) Right? Is it safe now to update via Kies?
Your KNOX is already tripped, forget about it now and use ODIN, ODIN with Stock ROM will NOT change anything KNOX related, only custom
0x0 = Not tripped
0x1 - Tripped
The counter means nothing for warranty
