[Q] Compatibility List C.T.R.L.R - M.O.J.O. General

With the Gamepad " C.T.R.L.R " and the included universal Smartphone clip, it should be possible to made your phone to a mobile game console.
In theory ...
+ Nexus 7 - the gamepad connects and works like expected
- LG G2 - the device can hardly find the controller. It couples the devices, but I get never a working connection in all 3 modes.
- Sony Xperia Z1 compact - same problem as the LG G2.
So the second reason for me to buy the M.O.J.O is invalid.
What are your experiences ?

The mouse mode works on a PC.
PC game mode works as expected.
Using x360ce (XBox360 gamepad emulator) gives good PC compatiblity.
It's a bit buggy, with crashes but still very useful.
I hope that GameSmart app is also ported to PC and can emulate the xbox360 contoller, that would be sweet!
I tried pairing on iPhone5 but didn't pair, I thought iPhone5's have BT4, no biggy.
I haven't tried my phone (Nokia N900) as I doubt the BT dongle will be detected by the kernel, and I don't want to recompile support for it just yet

(Dev request) Sixaxis Bluetooth Gaming Mod

So I was looking at Engadget today when I stumbled across this article. It says that someone got the N900 to play emulators with a PS3 Sixaxis controller. I have no idea about coding, I'm not a programmer. I do know that there are a bunch of talented people here at XDA and was wondering if someone would be willing to take up the challenge.
I know Android is capable of using Bluetooth in ways that weren't intended for phones (eg. The bluetooth keyboard hack), so I'm optimistic. I have a Saphire 32B, but I'm hoping this could be applied to all android phones that don't have physical keyboards. What say you XDA? Are you willing, and is it possible?
Bump. Just saw this too.
It certainly should be possible with Android.
Here is some more info on how they got it to work on the N900, involves some linux apps to pair the controller.
Maybe we can work together to crack this nut? Maybe move this topic into the more general Android Software Development thread.
Possible use cases:
1- Turn your Android into a PS3 controller (switch on PS3, menu navigation or even keyboard input)
2- Use a Bluetooth controller/keyboard on the Android (like with N900)

What I'm hoping will come out of this is number 2, as I don't own a console. As I said I'm not a coder, so this is way above my head. And it doesn't have to be a PS3 controller either. A Wii or a 360 controller would be fine, too. I just want to be able to play my NES games on my phone. (No multitouch really sucks).
still hoping and wishing for a Windows Mobile port...

Why did you buy the Android phone then, if you're into WinMo
If you are interested in alternatives to the MSI or Chainpus BGP100 bluetooth gamepad, google search "modded by bacteria" go to the "work in progress" section of his forums, and search for the thread "Re-housed Bluetooth controller". The creator of the site, Bacteria, will be transplanting the innards of the BGP100 into an SNES controller. Previously, he has transplanted it into a PS1 controller. It seams feasible to DIY into almost any controller housing.

You misunderstood.
I didn't buy an Android phone.
There is a port of Android that runs on the Touch Pro2 but it does not have Bluetooth or TV Out. So I either need a way to connect a sixaxis to WinMo or a new port of Android for TP2 that supports TV Out and Bluetooth.
hard part is over
the sixaxis connects and sends data
now I just need to map out what to do when each button is pressed
currently works on windows mobile devices with a widcomm bt stack
I plan to make it work for the M$ stack as well but I'll have to borrow a phone with it from work cuz I don't have one any more
working on Touch Pro2 and HTC HD2 at the moment
I was so frickin happy when I finally got it to connect and send data
Nice to see progress on this. If this was on another forum it would see more activity.
Would be awesome. Especially on the mytouch. its only a matter of time

Any progress on the android Sixaxis/duelshock 3 app ??
I'm working on an Android/PS3 controller app. I have a method of changing the Bluetooth master address on the controller, but I haven't yet been able to get Android to see it. If I just knew what the controller was sending when you hit the PS3 button, I might be able to make Android listen for that.

Once the master address is set to your phone, pressing the PS button will cause the controller to send connection requests to your phone. Listen for devices, no authentication, with hid guid on psm 17 accept the connection request, then psm 19, accept that request, then write .... something can't remember... I have to go back to my code... to set the LEDs so they stop flashing and another code to tell the controller to start sending data. Once u r successful the controller constatntly sends packets of 50 bytes continuously describing the state of the controller, tilt, which buttons are down, up, etc so you just need to check for changes react accordingly. I'm handling verything on the L2CAP layer in WinMo. sending keydown and keyup events....

USB Gamepads

Does anyone know if usb gamepads work with the Iconia? Would like to use an analoge pad if it can be done to play some PSX games..
Thanks, Sonkey
This has been discussed numerous times since 3.1 was released.
Yes, USB gamepads are supported. Not 100% sure about analog thumbpads for psx playing though. Try it

why bother using a wired joystick when you can get a wireless joystick at just few bucks more..
i have PS3 wireless joystick and installed sixaxis contoller app... been happy and no problem so far
Those of you using an xbox controller hardwired..
my left analogue stick works but not the right one. also the top L+R buttons work but not the bottom ones..
do you guys have the same issues??
Also..
Those using the PS3 controller.. have you noticed that any buttons arent responding? might invest in a PS3 controller if they all work correctly.
thanks in advance.
I've bought this app on the market
(Damn, cannot post links...)
it's called 'USB/BT Joystick Center'
It's working perfectly to me...
I've tested 3 generic usb joysticks and all of them worked.
You can create the USB driver based on the bits input of the device.
really nice, and no root is needed.

Hey rafinhasantana,
I bought USB/BT JOY center too but i was afraid to install it. check out the permissions on that thing. Says it can record passwords you enter in another application. I know its probably needed to record button actions etc... but i was a little concerned.
Do you have any issues with it thus far? Anyone else use this????

Hi!
Well i've had no problems with that.. It works like an alternative input method, like in the Wii controller input, but you're not gonna use to type your passwords around. I've contacted the developer about the deadzone for sticks and he hass implemented that...
It's working fine for me, and since I don't use the tablet for banking I'm not THAT worried about passwords on it at all...

Tia
Anyone know if PlayStation One (dual shock) controllers can work properly?
I have one hooked up via an OTG cable and a USB conversion hub (to plug the controller into) and can only seen to get the analogue sick to work on FPse. The others buttons (other than the D-pad and right analogue stick) seem to be working in the joycentre but I am not sure how to get them to work outside it, out how to tell the joycentre what physical buttons the presses relate to. Does anyone know if a tutorial video in English?

I believe you can use what they describe here under 'Method 1', essentially use an OTG cable to plug it in, then turn the controller on. I don't think you can unplug the controller from the USB cable though, you have to leave it in. http://www.pockethype.net/pair-ps3-controller-android-devices/
Personally I use a Wii U Pro controller with a wireless USB adapter, you might have luck with this PS3 to usb adapter using the 'xinput' setting from the same company: http://www.amazon.com/Wireless-Controller-Adapter-Mayflash-Personal-Computer/dp/B00DSFW5MA
I have not used this adapter for PS3 controllers but the one they make for the Wii U Pro controller works perfectly.
Awesome.. tx!! gotta order me a cable then and give it a shot.

But as you know the app uses root access to change some bluetooth mode/characteristics the Remote won't be working until Sixaxis is disabled or Nexus Player is restarted.

Ah.. so you have to disable sixaxis every time after you have used the gamepad. That sucks. Is that just how it is or can it be fixed you think, to have them working simultaneously?

I believe the dualshock controllers use some non standard or proprietary Bluetooth protocols. So to work with them the sixaxis controller app needs to change the nexus player Bluetooth to that non standard mode. So I am afraid that they will ever work simultaneously.

As stated before you will need to root your NP and install the Sixaxis app to pair your DS4 with it. The point I was making earlier is that while the DS3 does have a proprietary BT protocol the DS4 seems to use a different protocol that works out of the box with Windows and Cyanogenmod but doesnt work with vanilla Android. Until someone comes out with a custom rom or kernel that builds in support for it, you will have to use the Sixaxis app to use PS controllers.
Well for some reason my ds4 is now connecting to my NP natively but input lag is horrendous. When I try to go back to sixaxis it tells me max clients connected. Now i can't use my ds4.will try to restore the np and try again.

Alright so I took my NP to factory specs, relocked and hen started from scratch again unlocking and updating and rooting. Now my DS4 is connecting properly through sixaxis. If you want to use a DS4 do not try to sync it straight with bluetooth yet it will cause problems, until it is supported properly through kernels or updates to bluetooth it will have some nasty input lag and be unusable.
Tried on day one, no go in my part unfortunately.

No need to DO factory reset !
Use a usb mouse or keyboard ( connected to otg adapter to nexus player ) and goto sixaxis application and click on stop , this will enable blue-tooth service for your original nexus controller.

simple power cycle will enable the nexus remote if you Just disable the sixaxis auto start on boot with currently paired DS3 , In sixaxis preferences> general settings > auto start.
I think the the nexus player ON BOOT will start pairing process , if no remote is paired.
or
you could use the pair button on the underside ( this pairing will not work if six-axis driver is running)
note : you can also pair any phone as remote for nexus player (but this Phone remote will only work for main launcher and apps , but not the in the games ).
Start the BT pairing from the phone (will find the nexus player in search BT devices )
this pairing will also keep the phone in unlocked state ( Trusted device feature ).

[Help] Xbox One controller to Android

Is it possible to use an Xbox one controller on android, I have seen conflicting statements, and if not just staight up, is there any way to get it working. Thank you guys. I do know this is probably a question thats extremely stupid to alot of you and it means alot for this help. Thanks
That depends entirely on how you intend to connect it......
If you intend to use a 'wired' controller via the USB socket on the phone then yes it is possible....though you will need an app of some sort to 'map' the buttons correctly.
If you intend to connect wirelessly, then you're out of luck.....had it been a PS3 or PS4 controller, it would have been a different story.
The xbox controller transmits via RF signals whereas the Sony equivalent transmits via bluetooth.
We can pair bluetooth devices to the phone without issue....but that's not the case for RF devices.
The only reason I know this is because I went through something similar in order to use ePSXe to play PS1 games on my S5 ....In the end I had to get a Moga bluetooth controller to do the job......
Edit.....My bad.....I was commenting about xbox 360 controllers.....just noticed you have an xbox one controller......which connects via wi fi (I believe). That has possibilities.....have you tried connecting it by wi fi direct? If it does connect that way, you'll still need some method of mapping the buttons. It may be the case that someone needs to develop an app that makes the devices communicate with each other too....afraid I haven't looked into that though....never needed it....
Sorry fella...
Edit 2.....just done a bit of research, it turns out there is no 'native' support in Android for wireless controllers, you (apparently) need an interface app and/or a rooted device that you can add/change code on....

yea Microsoft made the xbox one S controller fully android compatible by firmware upgrade ( you need a cable and a app on pc or xbox one.)
and this controller is bluetooth compatible.making most xbox one original controller (and elite) obsolete.
Anyone have any info on getting the second edition of the Xbox One controller with built-in bluetooth to work on Android?

Redmi note 7 - ps4 controller

Hello I really need some insight with this. I just bought an otg cable for pairning my redmi note 7 with my ps4 controller because I couldnt fix the input delay via blutooth and the continuous connect fix was not working for me(with both new and old version of the program) . When I paired the controller with the cable nothing happened, I then tried with my ps3 controller again nothing happened. They just charge and that's it, no inputs. When i put a mouse on the otg cable the mouse worked normally. When I tried it with my friend's Mi9t everything worked fine ! I tried the USB debugging settings etc, still the same. Is there any way to fix this?

Hey it kinda works that way. I mean you have to set it up time after time, after time but it works. So it is the same uncompatibility with the ps4 controller the owners of K20 and K20 Pro are posting about, I just cant figure out why it works fine via bluetooth(minus the insane lag) and not with the otg cable. It's a pain in the ass to set it all over again every time you need to play something in an emulator, but hey, it works I guess. I really hope they will fix this with the imminent MIUI 11 and add native support of the ps4 controller on this model cause I will be forced to sell it and I really like my note 7. Thanks again for your help!

hello, I used the Bluetooth Auto Connect (both the most recent version and an old one which some people said that works better) with no luck. Everything works as it should for a minute or so and then lags kick in and everything is unplayable. I use the most recent MIUI Global 10.3.10. Waiting for the MIUI 11 update any day now.
The last time I used my Xbox One S controller was fine (I know its not your case) but I flashed a module from magisk to use it, and I see one for the ps4 controllers in the repos. Maybe it helps?

do you have to be rooted for that? I run official MIUI 10, soon 11. I really dont want to bother with roots, custom APKs etc.

It works for me this way but you have to set it up every time and it's kinda annoying. Sometimes it takes a minute or two once im in the emulators to recognise the control schemes.

i tried that method but the controller ps3 isn't being detected by the phonenor in the app -when i connect it it says "device is dead" , and the ps4 controller is detected in the app but not in game nor controlling the phone/home screen .
which controller is working for you ? is it working for you outside the emulator games ? if so , which games ?
and btw , is your phone rooted or not ?

Im using the PS4 controller. Sadly my PS3 controller is busted and I cannot test it in order to help you. Yes it is working outside of games with the method described above. You just use it as an alternative input method, so in other words you forfeit the keyboard and you use the controller as an input method. You cannot use the keyboard at the same time and after you disconnect the controller you need to reverse the default input method back to the keyboard in order to use the phone. Its not plug and play, you have to set it every time as I mentioned above but at least it works this way with little to no lag. I have tried it with Mame, Epsxe, Retroarch, PPSSPP, everything works I had no problems with any of the games I tried. My redmi Note 7 is not rooted and runs all the latest updates.

thanks for the respond , i got the ps4 controller to work in the emulator PPSSPP . although that's not what i was trying to solve , i wanted to use the controller in games/apps -the ones you download from the play store like FIFA,NFS etc.. - outside the emulator. but i think i'll have to root my phone to remap the touch control for these games.
i'll have to wait for a week to unlock the bootloader then i'll try again after rooting.
thanks again bro <3
