For root, here's what I did (not a ready-made solution, but hope the instructions are good enough):
I followed the same logic as @[NUT] when he shared his flashable zip with the Journalists rom, but with the ext4 partition image instead of a tar with its files.
- extracted the system image from the tft (which is actually a zip)
- with flashtool extracted the 2Gb .ext4 partition file, which is a direct image of what should be written to the partition (and flashtool does it when flashing)
- compressed it with gzip and transferred to the phone's sdcard
- entered recovery and opened an ADB shell (I was coming from a 4.2 rooted ROM, of course)
- unmount /system
- overwrote the entire /system partition with the new one, using "gzip -cd system.ext4.gz | dd of=..." to the sytem mtd entry
- sync to flush
- remount /system; the new contents showed up
- flashed SuperSU, XZDualRecovery, and perhaps a few other manual changes I needed
- shut down
- enter flashmode and flash the trimmed ftf with only the rest of the 4.3 things (kernel, radio, etc but NOT system)
Easy

Thank you! (Obrigadão )

Is anyone else having a problem with the GPS and the top portion. GPS just keeps flashing and won't let me swipe down to open the quick options screen.
Its really annoying, any response to this question would be greatly appreciated.

After I flashed the tft, and checked the build number, I still have the .242 version. The flashing went fine. Why?

I can get the Customized DE firmware for the E6653, which is generic, but I can't upload the file, it's too large (2GB+)
No clue how to use a mac so can't help there.
You got somewhere for me to upload the ftf file if I create it?
Have you considered running Windows in a VM on your Mac? This is how I use XperiFirm... Parallels Desktop works great.

I believe it's strictly down to some regional apps, not carrier based but locale based.
Here's a link to XPERIA Z5 E6653, 32.0.A.5.12 firmware for anyone still searching.

Tutorial for flashing here: http://xperiafirmware.com/8-firmware/123-sony-xperia-z5-e6653
It stalled for about 5 minutes on "system.sin" but it eventually finished. Be patient and don't panic while flashing!

Just a word on etiquette: the thread you're replying to has nothing to do with your problem. You should make your own thread in this case.
I believe I used the Sony drivers to make flashtool work.

Hello, .209 does not support fingerprint scanner.
And about the drivers, they are located inside the flashtool folder.
