Good app to prevent overheating - Nexus 5 Themes and Apps

Hello.
This is a noob question. Are there any good apps that particularly helps to prevent overheating by limiting the CPU?
Thanks.

I don't know about apps. but your thermal throttle will limit your CPU depending on temp.

If you are unlocked and on custom kernel you can try trickster mod. Just download in the playstore. P.s. i recommend the elementalx kernel.

i also trying to get the galaxy s4 / galaxy s3 lockscreen to my nexus 4 but i haven't found it yet..
Thanks For Help!

That's not the same.
Samsung toggles are way better IMO + they can be sorted and the best of all, you can change screen brightness with the slider.
Power toggles is not capable of this.

Try slimbean rom. This rom has brightness slider and you can sort every toggle.

Thanks for the suggestion, but I'm not into Roms and flashing anymore since I got my nexus.
I think Google should implement those things into android by default.

Not gonna happen. Those toggles are part of Samsungs Closed source propritary Android Distro. As for not flashing roms because you have a nexus. Not sure how you figure that. Even the new 4.3 OTA is already out dated.
So there is no way to get this things on my nexus? Its have to be a way to do that somehow no?

Yes there is, learn how to build android and port the feature from the galaxy s4.
And you have a nexus dude! You need to flash flash flash to try out what all the great devs are doing around here. Else get an s4 and be quiet.

No there is not. You can try custom roms or build a rom from source and try to add the elements you want (a buddy did the sliders awhile ago) but for the samsung one. No as there is no source code to use and it needs to re-write a bunch of system files from the ground up.
I dont see all big hypevfrom galaxy s 4 i traded mine for nexus 4 and im loving it way more cuatomizable

Tap to wake

Hello,
I know this has been descused several times but I just wanna know if there's any kernel with that feature or one that should include it.
Why just samsung devices have not this in all the kernels around...
I have with devil kernel with duration limits for saving battery
it work?

Yes it does.

Both devil and agni have touch wake but it's not the double tap if that's what you mean. If you set the touch wake for too long your battery will not last long

I'll give one of these kernels a shot and stick with the more battery friendly
Thx guys

They are both great kernels I've run them both. Devil has lots of options and can dual boot but agni is rock stable and slightly more battery friendly

I'll go with Agni then as I'm using this phone for work and need it to be most stable possible with efficient battery
Thx
Is there a version compatible with aosp 4.4 based rom, I'm using PAC rom right now ?
There is an agni version for aosp 4.4 but i haven't tried it. Devil kernel is compatible with both stock 4.3 and aosp/cm 4.4

Ok, just installed it and it looks pretty promising and the touch to wake works as advertised, hope the double tap to wake option a la LG will (could) be included any time soon, really appreciate that feature on my Xperia Z.
Thx again.
How is the tab to wake Option in agni?

It is touch wake in agni and devil. The screen stays awake for the time you set so when you touch the screen it comes back on. It works well when you are reading, you only have to touch the screen to wake it up

Neak kernel has it too

Throttling when battery is around 20 % , without turning on battery saver mode

My Nexus 6P gets really laggy when the battery percentage is approaching 25-20% , like some sort of throttling kick in , but I'm completely sure that the battery save mode is disabled , is this standard Android behavior ? I remember facing the same issue with my Nexus 6

Yes. The Snapdragon 808 and 810 both throttle when the CPU is warm and when the battery is below 20%.
