Let us petition HTC to bring KItkat barebones to the Legend - Legend General

Its all in the Title

If im correct they stop suport in 2.1, why do you think they will give us 4.4?

Im sorry to have to say this but there is no way HTC would even care, nor would we get enough people to actually make this possible. But we do have some devs currently working on 4.4 for the legend.

Yeah, im not saying that it is impossible, in this case we are lucky we got a developer who is working on a KitKat port, but it is not officially from HTC and this is what the thread is about i guess.

I was just giving the link to the thread confirming your post .
But it is true that HTC won't do anything more for the Legend (which is normal regarding its age).

it would be awesoe but htc is more interested in you buying a new phone than upgrading a 3-4 years old one

I don't think HTC legend can support KitKat. Will take ages to boot up.

My friend you sold your TP2 because the HD2 has the double amount of Ram and double the processor speed. Because it is an revolutionary phone.
It is good news because it indicates that HTC starts to support more and more their devices, and someday maybe you will get an update that will make very very happy. If that happens i don't think that will you complain then.
I write those things with all the respect of course! I didn't want to insult you!

The best news in a long time!
That means there will finally be full landscape for Sense!

Although I agree the bootup animation is from older versions of Android, It's clearly 2.x+ as shown at 1:20 by the lwp, phone app instead of dialer, and a few other apps in the drawer.

Which just proves you're not observant. Yes, there are a lot of sense builds because they add extra features plus can be disabled easily for basic stock experience but there are cyanogen and stock builds out there if you LOOK. Hell, I was just at one, which is why I remembered to come back here. Don't be upset because I chose to answer you in the same simple way you asked. It's not my fault you don't see what's in front of you. Now browse. Finding new fun builds that fit our specific needs is why we're here, is it not?
ya they pretty much dont care about vanilla froyo and those that do are either old or autobuild , or are restricted to certain outdated kernels ... also cuz of this reason most cm versions will have touch screen lag issues and all the goodies that come with that , so basically if ya want a decent vanilla froyo experience hd2 isnt for u

Thank you for a coherent answer. Thats what I was starting to see about froyo. I have been updating my HyperDroid on my own but seem to have met my technical limit and am considering switching. Everything is great with it, but I'm considering whether or not I want the new camera. Another round of decisions I guess.

The XDA application does not seem allow us to see response/reply titles. Only original post titles. So I never saw your first No answer. I apologize and thanks for your response. I was looking for an quick opinion from fellow users and I certainly was not asking anyone to go do research for me.
I don't know if you have noticed but over the last few months folks have really gotten a bit over the top with the sarcasm in response to questions, almost to the point where it is insulting in some cases. I have seen this more and more. My initial thought when reading your reply WITHOUT the title line was here was more sarcasm. So again, I apologize and thanks for your response.

There was definite sarcasm, so I can apologize for that. Not at the level of some of the other people here get to. People have been getting extremely venomous and I was just trying to do a quick chuckle thing. Anyway, you should expect to see a lot more stock android builds soon because I'm sure there will be a flood of gingerbread options over the next few days.

Well, thus far nobody's succeeded with a full Sense 4 port and I doubt that mwakious will either. If I'm not mistaken, he's actually the same dev who posted in the Blackout thread that he had a working, booting port then never posted it. The wording 'he'll start working on it after finishing a Flyer custom ROM' is also quite indecisive. I sincerely hope I'm wrong, but I definitely don't have high hopes for this one.

How is this good news for the HD2?
It's like saying "Hey, John Doe started working on porting Sense 5 to the Galaxy SIII"
I don't understand how this is relevant to the HD2.

Mwakious was definitely a dev here but I think he also lied about his work. In the Blackout ICS thread he said that he had a fully working port and then disappeared from the thread entirely, and he also claimed that he had a HWA Sense 3.5 (i.e. GB) port which clearly wasn't true.

Even with that being said, having a developer making a port for a different device ( remember that the flyer is already a sense tablet) does not necessarily imply a port for the HD2.
So the OP went to the flyer section and read a WIP sense 4 for the flyer, I don't think this has anything to do with the HD2. Even if it is a work of the same developer.
IMO, this has nothing to do with the HD2 and the thread is useless because I am unable to find the "good news".
^I don't think I was clear, sorry .
(P.S. to nigel: Congrats on your green name, I wanted that, too )
GOD that is good news i cant wait
i think we have a bettor shot at seeing JB 5.0 before a sense 4.0 rom

Hey all.... Been a while since I wondered through these parts but have to say I'm chuffed to see DHD development is still ongoing.
I have been the proud owner of the 'One' for a while now and actually just wanted to let the devs here know that if there's anything I can pull from my phone or get hold of for them to use here for the DHD then I'm more than happy to do what I can. Let me know
Ps. If you're wondering if the One is worth moving to from the DHD then I can tell you right now it'll blow your mind lol!
