ubuntu dual boot installer - Nexus 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Has anyone tried this?
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Touch/DualBootInstallation
I keep getting " missing update command" after it downloads ubuntu and goes to install.
Any ideas?

Same Problem on a Nexus 4 with 4.4.2
Any ideas?

I'm also experiencing this problem. Already tried to uncheck "latest version" and to select an older build version, but without success. Maybe there's an error in the Dual Boot app?

Same happened to me:

any solution?

Same error on Nexus 7 unfortunately - Seems to be related to the Android 4.4.2 version, perhaps SELinux?

That could be it, I suppose. You can use SELinuxModeChanger to disable it. I'm at work, I can't test it now.

Ah well, tried, failed, wasn't it -.-
It's got to be 4.4.2 related in some way, every person reporting the fault here and elsewhere is on 4.4.2

i've installed it with cm 10.2 . i wouldn't recommend though : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2592428
the first time i installed it was okay. storage wasn't read only and i moved a couple of my folders back to root but the second time it screwed everything up
your problem is listed here but there are people with 4.4 who have successfully installed it (proof)

Pandora Issues

Need some help with Pandora as it's giving me fits. I'm running Paranoidandroid 1991 with the included kernel. When I install Pandora from the market everything seems fine. I launch the app, get the high data warning and click continue. It sits on the blue Pandora splash screen for a minute and then crashes with an error of "unfortunately Pandora has stopped". I've tried taking the .apk from my phone, put it in dropbox and download it from there to my N7 with the same result. I ran a logcat while attempting the above but it showed no activity. If anyone has any insight to getting this issue fixed, I'd greatly appreciate your help.
thanks!

I am running CNA 3.3.1. I just checked and Pandora is working fine for me. Have you tried running "fix permissions"?
Did you try changing the layout for pandora in paranoid settings to smallest value? 360px I believe, I'm not running PA at the moment but when I was running it that was the issue.

Did you change your dpi or put it into actual tablet mode? If so, you need either the modified play store apk or to change your dpi back to stock.

That app are compatible with my nexus 7, like the above comment said check your ppi setting.
Since the latest version of play store changes how it detect device model.

please help me
Instead of using OTA, you can manually flash your phone to 4.4.2 using the stock Google rom.

You'll need to unlock the phone's bootloader and reboot before continuing.

NRD90M updated to NRD90U issue

OK I was on 90M and decided to follow Heinsberg guide #14 "How to flash Factory Images without wiping Internal Storage" to 90U Factory Image.
I'm using Mint 18 Linux everything went fine until last step which was to flash vender.img and it Fails saying "Remote: Permission Denied"
I tried 3 different times same error.
So I gave up and just booted up to Android and it boots fine but now I get this message that says System Internal error only shows the message at boot where u enter your pin.
Any ideas what is causing these two issues..

i was on NRD90M and then i installed the September security patch and the build number went to NRD90T. anyone know what happened?
You're spelling it wrong. It's vendor not vender.

Hopefully this will cause the boot message go away also..

Yes, that message is due to the vendor image mismatch. Should go away once you flash it.

Update released to cripple Note 7 in US

I'm sure most of us knew this was coming https://www.engadget.com/2016/11/04/software-update-will-annoy-galaxy-note-7-owners-into-a-return/
I have my updates on "manual" and I was able to deflect the attempt that still managed to almost start. I ended u hitting later. I was wondering if anyone knew how to disable these updates from popping up via Root explorer which I think I seen before.
Thanks
Disable pro 6.3 ....

I don't see software update or anything showing OTA. What do I disable exactly
Thanks!

They got me. I stopped the update but when I restarted my phone it was bootlooping. I cannot find the PHE (last "green battery" firmware) update anywhere. Looks like I'm returning my phone tomorrow. It has been a good fight.
That sucks. That same thing happened to me when I got my second Note 7 and the update installed on its own. I think we'll all have to give in at some point. This waterproof body and camera, better radio and a bunch of other crap has me refusing to give in. My rooted Note 3 is waiting..
After installing and running the disabler app I noticed a "Setup Wizard" app icon in my app drawer. Wth is it? Don't remember seeing this prior and uninstall is blocked.
Anybody know if rooting Note 7 will help get rid of the 60% limiter and also all the popup wanting you to return your Note 7 if so instructions please.
