WIFI slowdown bug still on 4.3... - Galaxy Note II General

I just upgraded my n7100 to 4.3 and the wifi bug (slows down after a while in standby) is STILL present! Is there a reason why this is never fixed?
I have tried with CM10.2 and that bug is not there.

I have same issue on 4.4.2 omnirom. So annoying.

I think that, this affects only specific models. I have wifi always on, connecting to different networks through the day and no issue, no slowdowns and great range. Maybe you should see an service center.

I had it on 4.1.2 but not on this one. In fact I didn't use Wifi because of that and the huge battery drain. I can now use it again ase both problems seem to be solved

Maybe it has to do with the internet router?! I had the same issue with galaxy s3 a year ago. But i have changed routers aswell so it has to be a combination of router bands/model/speed etc.
But since it works with CM10.2 custom rom, it is likely the wifi drivers on the phone that is somewhat incompatible with my kind of router...

You know that you have a option in wifi defenicions to switch between networks if wifi is weak

That is switching from wifi and mobile data... The problem is not weak wifi signal.

I know.....I solve the probleme with that. .for some reason the wifi is weak for 'code' and then switch.....tell me when u disable that feature

Data service issues

I'm not getting any WhatsApp messages unless I turn my screen on for a few seconds then they all come in. Any ideas what this is?

Are you on WiFi? If you are, there's a wifi delay bug.

Ya I know about that. That isn't the issue. Also, when I am on WiFi and leave home my cellular network doesn't connect sometimes once I disconnect form wifi

Why no bluetooth tethering on Telus?

Im not sure why it isnt on the s4 its my biggest let down with this fantastic phone. I did a few search's i havnt seen any fixs. Why has this been removed?
Why would you want to? Hotspot is all you need.

I found it uses way less energy then the wifi hot spot.

Im suprised more people havnt complained about it. With a non mobile network nexus 7 it was very good. Im guessing they took it out cause of slow speed but it still worked great for navigation

Every time you turn on your WiFi you're being logged and tracked.
Spy agency tracked passengers for days through free Wi-Fi
http://news.nationalpost.com/2014/0...wi-fi-at-a-major-canadian-airport-cbc-report/
That's why your carrier allows for WiFi tether but disable Bluetooth tethering to encourage users to use wifi and be tracked by the government.

[Q] my nexus 4 bluetooth ruins the wifi (drops)

So, when I turn on the bluetooth and connect it to anything, like headset or stereos, speakers, there is some wifi drops every 10 seconds or less which is so annoying, cant watch a youtube video or browse easy and everything is ruined, so how to fix that? And is that only me? Im rooting my phone next week, cause that was a replacement and on my old nexus 4 never used bluetooth after 7 months , so dunno if i had that on my old nexus 4 or not.

I have the same issue, when you use Bluetooth it interferes the 2.4GHz radio waves created via WiFi chip, 5GHz works fine on WiFi with Bluetooth on.

Sorry im not good at these hardware stuff, but how can i change it? Is it in the router settings or inside the phone, thanks!

Unfortunately that is where the problem comes in, I am not sure if it is hardware or software which is causing the issue.
If you want to keep connection on WiFi with Bluetooth then for now you have to use a Wireless Router which supports 5GHz (to enable support on Nexus 4 go to settings, WiFi, advanced and then Wi-Fi frequency band which will show up a list, choose "Auto" for 5GHz and 2.4GHz).

It's not fixed when I receive a call in my car the n4 drops wifi. And that was the main reason for getting a wifi router in my car. I'm on 4.3 My galaxy Nexus does not have that problem. This needs to be fixed soon.
I dunno, its fixed since i flashed the 4.3 paranoid android rom, and google support sent an email saying that its fixed in android 4.3 and they said that cause i called them several times because of that issue, Ive never had this issue on my gnex, but I had the gnex when it was on 4.1.2, i heard that its a bug in 4.2.

AT&T Note 3 with same problem.

Made a thread about this. The wifi in this phone sucks. I think it has something to do with the wifi quality check before it connects. Any apk I can delete so it doesnt check the quality and just connects
It happened to me last night too. On the screen with the list of available wifi networks about every 5 seconds it would cycle from seeing all of the nearby ones, to saying my remembered network was not in range, even though the router is about 10 feet away. A reboot took care of it, and my wifi has been very solid since then, much better than my old Evo 4g LTE.
Yep mine does it but if you go on where the wifi scans, menu button and advanced and there's a option along the lines of check quality. I unchecked that and it's been fine all day...

Happens to me too and my 3G seems to be very slow.
Haven't had this problem before with other mobiles...
coolfreebies
I have the AT&T version and my wifi has been great, I have wiped and flashed the stock firmware back a few times tho. They may have something to do with it.
yeah how to get rid of the wifi quality check.. also problematic when it detects the wifi if the internet is slow or not.. sometime we dont need it to check if the internet is slow or not we just want to connect

Wifi issues with 4.3

After upgrading to 4.3, I have lost my Wifi performance to my normal router. Now, while still able to scan available routers, I'm no longer able to connect.
Anyone know of a solution, short of an RMA?
Sent from my Nexus 4 using Tapatalk
Wat kind of router are you using and what frequency? 5Ghz or 2.4?
Sent from my Nexus 4 using xda app-developers app
One is a linksys, the other is unknown as it's at the doctors office. As for frequency, one of each.
Sent from my Nexus 4 using Tapatalk
Change wifi channel at router and try again.
With other wifi networks works fine?
Sent from my NookColor using Tapatalk 4
No. I have no connectivity. Wi-Fi performance has slowly diminished since I did the upgrade.

Setting a static IP has fixed it for me. Setting it on the phone that is. Happens far less now than when i didn't have a static IP.
How did you upgrade at 4.3?
Through official OTA?
if you could check it, reflash only radio.Img from factory Rom.
Sent from my NookColor using Tapatalk 4
My issue is not that bad.. the only issue i have since the update is the wifi signal drops completely, and the router next to me on my desk. The signal comes and goes for a couple of minutes then goes back to normal

The upgrade was done via a full wipe (was rooted at the time) and flashed the image from Google. Phone has been stock since. After the upgrade, I noticed the Wi-Fi signal went from four bars in the living room to three. Before losing connectivity completely, then two. One to none happened pretty quick.
