D806: Which ROMS /Recovery should i use - G2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Just got my LG G2 D806 from Personal Argentina, since this carrier loads their roms full of cr*p that i don't want, i would like to flash a new rom, so first i need to know:
1) Which recovery (preferably TWRPM) should i use
2) Which comunity ROM keeps most of the "useful" features the phone ships with (IR Remove / Knock to Wake etc etc )
Thanks!

To reply my own question, at least par of it, i was able to succesfully flash TWRP on the D806 by using the files for the D802, i used this tutorial:
http://theunlockr.com/2013/11/03/flash-custom-recovery-lg-g2-versions-video/
TWRP for this device can be downloaded from:
http://techerrata.com/browse/twrp2/g2d802.
Now i need some suggestions on what ROM to try.

Expect this to be closed shortly. ROM comparison threads don't last too long on here.
Regarding your question, I prefer TWRP, but both recoveries are useful and effective. For ROMs, best to browse the developer subforum for your particular variant and give a few a try. The answer to which ROM is best is highly subjective (and leads to flaming/trolling, hence the reason this'll be closed soon). What one finds to be the best could be different than your opinion. Try a bunch and see which one meets your needs/expectations.

[ROM] Minimalist 3.1 - Stock, Stable and Completely Deodexed

Another ROM you say? I've tried all the Acer-based 3.1 custom ROMs and none of them seem to suit my needs. They seem to add lots more bloatware and tweaks that made my tablet quite unstable.
So I went ahead and built my own ROM which essentially is a pruned-stock standard Acer 3.1 with only the barest minimal features to maintain speed and stability of the system. I've also gone ahead and deodexed most all of the frameworks and apps so feel free to mod this rom to add custom skins and animations if you so please. I'm sharing my work in the hope that you will find it useful.
The ROM can be downloaded here - http://www.multiupload.com/9H43RO49H0
Please leave questions, comments and queries below.
*Patch update* - I made a slight error in the update script and didn't set the right permissions for Superuser access. Apply this patch to fix it if your ROM doesn't have a working Superuser.apk - http://www.multiupload.com/RUO6SVRXEV
Stable ROMs are always welcomed. Never too many of those!
I like them too, i will give it a shot!
Anyone tried it yet? Thoughts? I have it ready to go, but would like to hear what others think before jumping in.
Updated the ROM to fix the root access.
Saludos !
Thanks for this ROM. I had been deleting apps I did not want but could not get past the Vendor subdirectory. This is now my daily ROM.
Does this still have the annoying, battery wasting "screen on in standby" problem?
Just installed it and work well for me. Thanks!
I'm going to try this now, I'm unimpressed with the acer 3.1 update, lots of FC, dhcp issue on wifi, overloaded ram (seems to have worse mm than 3.0.1).
argh!
looking forward to yours!
Thanks for the rom .slight problem can t seem to gain root acsess i installed the su patxch even though i have a working superuser .apk/ using v1.2 gingerbreak can t root help!!!

Sorry if Superuser isn't working for you. I didn't test the update script for the patch so that might be why. I have however updated the main ROM image in Post 1 to have support for SU.
You can download it here - http://www.multiupload.com/9H43RO49H0
Is there anyway to pre-build root access and USB 3G support in your ROM?
root access is already there

Yes, I can make a patch that you can apply to your stock ROM to get USB 3G support.
ETA ~ 4-5 hours.
tried this morning..migrate from honeyvillian....honestly I'm very happy with rom..fast and stable...didn't encounter any problem...yet....will stay for a while...thanks chef
Anyone got the cifs.ko working? with this rom? i used the same cifs.ko i used with the leaked kernel so it should be ok
Hello folks. I am new owner of the Acer A500 and naturally, a total noob in these matters, but could the OP please post installation instructions and perhaps even a list of what has been taken out from the stock Acer firmware??
Hope I am not asking for too much here.
This is weird, I was using p2-2 rom and had it oc'ed at 1540. I have been switching back and fourth between roms to see which is more smooth and stable, Mininmalist 3.1 was the last I tried that I am on now, And this rom is running fast and very stable, I think I'll stay with minimalist.

Miracast on ZTE Blade L3

Hi, this is my first post. I'm a self-experienced using Android. For year I had no problems with my devices. I had a Motorola G 1st generation who worked fine, but I waste it. Now, I bought ZTE Blade L3. Such as Moto G, Miracast feature is not enable (at least in my stock rom).
I want to know if this device is compatible with that technology (read that works in every phone since 4.2.x).
This phone has Android KK 4.4.4.
Tried to first connect trough WiFi Direct a Miracast Dongle (easycast), but the phone doesn't connect. Then, I tried whith screen cast option, and the same. Finally, I looked forums how to unlock modifying bootloader.ini, just as I had to do Moto G. I added the lines with BuildProp editor after rooting with Kingo Root:
persist.sys.wfd.virtual=0
persis.debug.wfd.enable=1
AAAAAND nothing happens
I need some help, first to know compatibility (wifi drect certification page is down, unfortunately), if there is a ROM that solve this problem (CM maybe?) and if there are other lines that I must add to buildprop.
Thank you very much for your asnwers, and sorry for the bad english (I'm from Chile).
If you need any further information, please ask!!!
UPDATE: use #MirrorEnabeler and the message is "Your Rom is lacking the audio_submix file. You must contact your device mantainer and ask them NICELY no imlement it. Please refer to the red part of the original post on XDA-Developers" This going to take long time, so decided to install stock ROM from other country using SP Flash tool, to see if it has the same problem.
UPDATE 2: Stock ROM from other country, same problem. Rooted the phone to make changes using KingRoot. Followed instructions from this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/har...experimental-enable-mirroring-device-t2812193 The thread was closed, and will create another thread for dongles (no chromecast)
It says, or those STILL having issues,
Check /system/lib/hw directory for the file "audio.r_submix.default.so".
If it doesn't exist, ask your device maintainer to add audio.r_submix.default to
the product_packages in the device.mk file. (You may not know what it means, but they will.)
So, Asked my mobile company to do the changes, they said "the manufacter must". Contacted ZTE to do what is being said, and ther is still no answer.
Will ask in thread posted after, to see if they can help me. Please let me know if somebody can run Miracasr in his Blade (also did't found another ROM that's not a Stock one)
created another thread in hacking software http://forum.xda-developers.com/har...e/help-to-enable-miracast-feature-to-t3209364

Fellow T-Mobile USA folks: Which custom ROMs have VoLTE, HD voice, and wifi calling?

Title says it all, I suppose. I'm on vache's experimental LineageOS 15 ROM, and while it's great in most ways, none of the above features work. Does anyone have any suggestions? I saw Dirty Unicorn mentioned, but it doesn't seem to be under active development for potter AFAICT (last ROM on vache's site is from July.) Thanks!
So far the best and most stable ROM with all of those features working well, in my experience, is AOKP. I'm running it with EX kernel overclocked and getting 7-8 hours screen on time. I get better signal than I ever have with a T-Mobile branded phone.
esta me ha parecido una room muy estable nunca he tenido ningun bug AospExtented en este enlace la puedes descargar https://forum.xda-developers.com/g5-plus/development/rom-aospextended-rom-v4-2-t3608056

Guide to fix error 7 in Le Max 2

I have seen many people asking about how to solve error 7 problem while installing custom ROMs. (Including myself)
Now I have found a method to fix it with the help of @ThE_MarD
So let's begin

2. Flash 19s firmware (or higher)
3. Treblize your device using shiva's twrp . (Optional but highly recommended]

Best ROM (2021) for Tab 2 10.1

Hello everyone,
I have this old Tab 2 10.1 that belongs to my mother and she hasn't used it in a while (Don't know the exact model). I unlocked the boot loader and want to flash it, but I was wondering what's the latest Android it could support. I tried Lineage OS 13.x but it's not good.
Can anyone recommend a ROM I can download for this model? Thanks!
EDIT: It's a GT-P5110
Depends on what you mean by "Best". If latest we have Oreo which is work in progress, but usually people use Marshmallow roms
Will the Oreo ROM work better than Nougat?
I heard someone said the best rom is OmniROM 6 but not tried it yet.

I have read in the oreo rom thread that it's fast and good for playing games though I don't know if it's true. But I can tell you about Nougat roms. Nougat roms, without gapps are lagy, while it's totally opposite in android 6 roms. Take Omnirom for instance. If you install it without gapps, it will be SUPERFAST while if you install it with gapps, it will be as slow as a Nougat rom WITHOUT gapps !!!!!!

Could you tell me that Omni rom can be installed without Gapps?
I install the latest omni_espressowifi-6.0.1-20200624-2120 rom and omni-6.0.1-20161124-espressowifi-FINAL without Gapps and I think the tablet loops trying to boot but I think it never will.

You can install it without gapps. If you do all the necessary wipes (basically follow correct steps), it won't loop.

NOTE : always download the latest version since it (more) stable
As another note, I'd suggest you these roms which I found the best for tab 2.
Resurrection remix : https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&sou...FjAAegQICBAC&usg=AOvVaw1PxtYepshuVJGhwILyAok1
This is the best as per my experience. Its android 6 and also fast. It is fastest without gapps but if you are going to install some apps, not all of them might function correctly. You can also enable a multiwindow feature built in this rom.
Lineage os 13 : https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&sou...FjABegQIAxAC&usg=AOvVaw0ngVERkcUHwdW6OdL7FTx8
This is another great one and works well. Again, with gapps it's slow (and mostly all roms are)
Slimrom 4.4 : https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&sou...FjAAegQIAxAC&usg=AOvVaw1pIY6ZrmjDiXzCAxuW-p9R
To be honest, this rom would have been the first in my list but it isn't because it's kitkat (4.4.4) and that means less apps support. It is fast and stable.
I'll also like to tell don't go for android 7 roms. Without gapps they are as slow as android 6 roms with gapps.

I agree with the doc, the most stable and smooth is, by far, the 4.4.4 and the more you go "up" in android versions, the more slow and stable it gets.
So, as he did, I would recommend 4.4.4 or 6.0 roms, depending on the apps you need/want
