Is Flashify safe to use on the Verizon G2? - G2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I came across this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nTJI9ThY0mk
(I'd like if you could watch it just to verify if it's safe to use.)
I know that there's a thread here on XDA on Flashify already: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2349847
I just want to make sure that it's safe for to use.

Several have used Flashify just fine. Not sure if on Verizon version or not. Search is your friend.
Also, questions don't belong in development threads.

Root method for MJ9?

Just as the title says. Is there a safe way to root and install recovery now with the new MJ9 update? I've looked around and all I can find is the method with Vroot which seems sketchy. Any new info?
If you did a Google search you wouldn't be asking this, there's 20 threads on root.

Ummmm, no, there's not. I assure you that I searched it. The only thread pertaining to what I asked is this one...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2526635
I don't know why you even took the time to post what you did when it didn't even come anywhere close to helping anything.
Delete.
I believe that the "unmentionable" root method works just fine. You know what I'm talking about, it's not DLV and not vroot..... The "other" one, rhymes with TANGO or was it BINGO?
Hmm

That thread says absolutely nothing about MJ9. There hasn't even been a post in that thread since the update came out. Let me phrase it differently...
Can anyone confirm a root method that works with the MJ9 update?
Edit: So you make a rather smart-aleck comment including a link that does nothing to answer my question, then delete the whole thing once you realize you're wrong, or at the very least that it didn't prove your point, yet you leave "delete". Thanks for the help.

Which MJ9 thread? You act like there's a sticky. I've been looking through them and find nothing about this. I don't think it's exactly stupid of me to ask for confirmation. I know for a fact I'm not the only person that wants to know. The only method I've seen mentioned includes a file with a known trojan.

There doesn't need to be a sticky. all you had to type in Google was mj9 root.
The thread is also called, root for mj9

Can't root phone with latest update

My son updated his phone last night with the OTA 4.3 update. He asked me to root it this morning, and it fails every time. It seems that Lookout is stopping it. I disabled lookout, but it seems to be integrated in the new software. I tried every method on this forum. If anyone could help, I'd appreciate it.

There are also several other threads on the front couple of pages of the General and Q&A sections but you will need to read to find them. Good luck.
So by the looks of it, Im screwed.. Damn.

But sooner or later a dev is gonna found a way to root it, I'll let you know when that happens.

cf auto root works on rogers, but you'll trip the knox flag. if you dont use active sync (exchange) then you may not care. can still root and run custom recoveries on rogers. Just typed up a bunch of crap on knox, so not getting in to it again, but if I were you, i'd wait for a confirmed knox safe method.

Only direct links to VRoot are not allowed on XDA, but the discussion of it is allowed.

Yeah, I'm not sure why everyone is so pissy on XDA.
Vroot can be discussed just no links as stated... There are other threads regarding all this as stated by Scott. Please read and abide by the rules... Thank you...

Downloaded OTA Firmware - Bricked

Got prompted for a download by the LG servers. Downloaded, came to install now it's sitting with a black screen and {820} fastboot mode started
[870] usb_start ()
I am rooted, but running factory, not other mods.
How do I get my phone usable?
Never mind, just found the other threads.

I agree, and this thing has been popping up very often, people bricking when running twrp, some things are not really spelled out too well unlike Samsung forums, there isn't really an "essential things to know" thread that includes all major issues FAQ etc.. all spread all over the place..

Wouldn't have a clue. Just downloaded the OTA and then got that message I posted in the OP
Stupid question here, but if you did go back to stock and take the ota, is there currently a way to flash Loki on it?

I don't even think ChainFire knows. Would be really cool if it does work on our Phone though! Would finally remove need for a PC.

I have tested FlashFire on my locked bootloader I337 S4 and my G900T and it works. Still testing but it appears this will be our safestrap replacement.
I will update my update and keeproot thread once testing is complete.
Yes...a possible end to Safestrap and ODIN with PC madness....

Very exciting, and given 5.0 is now widespread and the lack of a recovery solution supporting 5.0 on locked BL devices, I will quickly adopt it into the my threads. Suspect others will also.

It allows you to flash ROMS without safestrap. Only stock ROMS will work with 900v, due to the locked bootloader.

Your question is a little ambiguous.
1. FlashFire works for more than just TouchWiz
2. The Non-Developer Verizon S5 has a locked bootloader....as such, only TouchWiz ROMs (some people might say TouchWiz = Stock...but that is misleading) will work on the device.

Or maybe THAT was to cover up my mistake, we'll never know!

Installed KINGROM, now my vr headset won't install or even recognize.

I have two s7 edges, one stock rom which works fine and this one - which was stock rom until last night. I rooted and installed KINGROM and everything is lovely, all except now my gear vr won't recognize when it's attached.
I wanted to post in the kingrom forum, but I don't have enough posts to do so, so I have to ask here.
Does anyone know why the headset isn't triggering the install? I can confirm it worked when on stock rom, and the KINGROM page claims that the vr is fully supported.
Australian stock, Optus carrier.
Many thanks
You should have this posted in the international s7e section not AT&T. We don't have root, custom recovery, or custom roms yet. You would probably get a response and possibly a solution if you posted in the right section.
