Moto X USCC .sbf files - Moto X General

I've posted the original and camera update .sbf files at http://rant-zone.com/MotoX for those looking for them. The KitKat .sbf can be found on TeamUSCellular.com, here:http://teamuscellular.com/Forum/index.php?/topic/6024-Official-Moto-X-4.4-KitKat-SBF#entry104026

Sorry man just USCC here

Any brave soul from USC try and successfully downgrade from KitKat back to jellybean? I've heard other carriers turning into bricks from downgrading to before the camera update, taking the camera update and bricking. Not really seeing a reason to downgrade myself. Just curious if anyone knows anything about this.

You talking about us crazy Sprint guys?
Sent from my XT1056 using xda app-developers app

Hahahaha. It probably was one of you guys lol! I can't afford it since I have an unlocked boot loader and no warranty. So I'd be SOL. Don't want to sound like an @$$ but would rather see if anyone else survives that battle hahaha.

I was smart enough to prepare ahead of time and do all of jcase's steps up to the " now go ahead and take the OTA". Is there bad things going on if you already have the 4.4 OTA and try to downgrade? I made it, root, rw, on system on 4.4 with no issues, but don't want to spread the love if its just going to breed contempt. Any info will be appreciated.
Sent from my XT1055 using Xparent Cyan Tapatalk 2

So you've downgraded yourself from 4.4 your saying? I'm not sure myself as I just said. I'm just not willing to take that plunge unless others have successfully. Again as I've heard other horror stories of other carriers bricking somehow while messing around downgrading to 4.2 from 4.4
Sent from my XT1055 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app

No. I was on 4.2, awaiting an OTA to 4.4. I followed the SlapMyMoto method on 4.2 up until the spot where it says " Now go ahead and take the OTA". Then I proceeded from there. I was on 4.2, did the steps up to the OTA, then waited till I could take it. Took THE OTA, then continued.
I really hope there's some hope for those who grabbed the OTA before doing their homework, I had a USCC XT901 (Electrify M) that I was able to root after the OTA that killed it for most. Maybe I'm lucky, maybe I just pay attention better than some, who knows.
Just thought I'd make these files available here for anyone who might need them.

I have seen very mixed results over here on the Sprint side but unfortunately for me personally, I have been staring at a very beautiful paperweight for the last 3 days while waiting for my new one in the mail.

Road back to .91 from .141

Just creating a post in general to showcase my steps in an effort to get back to an unlockable boot loader from the .141 crap moto placed on my phone upon sending it in for repair.
Lucky for me, I was still under warranty so I sent it and and I am tracking it now... For the comment section I told them that I did not appreciate them upgraded me to a really bad version (.141) that made my phone really slow and unstable, and of course caused my once unlocked bootloader to no longer be unlocked.
Actually posting this because I'm frustrated and I hope that it will work so that way if anyone else is under contract or warranty can try and *hopefully* get the same results.
I will update as soon as anything happens.

Is anyone working on it?...is there anything I can do like maybe call Verizon and hope a CLND will not have the update. .. thank you for any input

I did... I was really thinking I wouldn't get the update... I ordered it the day of the update push... but then again I am very unlucky with phones...

So wait, even if we have the update, it's okay, we can just downgrade?
Also, OP, I'm sure you got your RAZR for free on contract, but I bought mine new on eBay to keep my unlimited data. I dunno if $280 was too much for you, I usually wait until a phone has been out for a year or so and then I can snag it for $250-350 off contract, new.
On the bright side, now you can get the latest device when it comes out for a reasonable price.
If I were you, I'd take advantage of the return policy ($35 restocking fee) and get like the nicest phone possible- maybe hit up a Verizon store and try them all out. I know the Dinc 4G LTE and Droid DNA had 2-3 more bars than the Motorola and Samsung (and Apple) phones, but they all may use different "bar calibrations".
The only reason I got the RAZR M was because a good deal came up on eBay and the seller took a pic of the barcode/info, so I saw the firmware version before buying.
Best of luck!

Yeah, that sucks. Gotta love the timing.
I found the 98.16.1 update file tried to apply it via recovery no go...I'm not going to risk trying to RSD the whole XML.. so I just called Verizon... asked if I could request a replacement without the update... he said... we can make a note to the warehouse but I cannot promise you one without the update as all CLND will be updated within two weeks of the push... so one can only hope...
Even if I can't get a an older version I'm probably gonna keep the M kinda a Motorola fanboy... I mean it was the first hand held cell phone I believe...

Mine updated itself last night. Okay, fine, I probably accidentally hit the update button. Anyway, now I have a locked, unrooted M. Good thing that X is coming soon.
I got my M for $50, but was able to keep my unlimited data. It helps to know people in the business.

Just to detail here a little. The root method is still Motochopper. With the help of realbbb on the HD, SamuriHL was able to produce a script to perform the function. I merely adapted it for the M.
This method essentially rolls back the device thru a modified fxz without flashing the tz partition, roots with Motochopper, protects root, updates then restore root.

Any unlock news for latest Verizon update?

I updated my RAZR m to the latest release from Verizon, and since I had not unlocked my bootloader yet, I know I cannot unlock it at the moment. Even if I rsd to the original 4.1.2 I still will be unable to unlock, correct?
Is there any work being done on a new unlock? I'm relatively happy with stock for now, but once cm10.x is more stable, and motors stops updating the RAZR m, I'd like to be able to flash something cool.
Thanks,

Yeah, here's your news; the new update blocked the ability to unlock. You can't unlock, even if you downgrade, but you can still root. The unlock exploit came out in April and people were told to do it, before it was locked up. Dan also said he probably won't ever run another exploit. You can root and use SafeStrap to run older SS compatible ROMs. You're SOL for the AOSP stuff, though. Don't say you weren't warned.

If your on Verizon and got the phone through Verizon do what I did before the time runs out... call them request a replacement device go through all the trouble shooting for your "issue"( I said the ear piece speaker intermittently goes out, yet works on speakerphone thus indicating its hardware related) after trouble shooting and problems still occur you get the green light for a replacement. request that they make a note to the warehouse to send you one without the update (I said because the new update caused data drops that didn't happen prior to update)... I hated having to give up my brand new device for a "like new" one but its better then having a locked device... the CSR in the chat said all devices in the warehouse will be updated 2-3 weeks after the update push so... act fast you may still have time left... if you get one with the update call them tell them your phone is working fine now and send the replacement back... or say something like the replacement is defective and again request a note to the warehouse... where there's a will there's a way....good luck

Not feeling like doing that. And i am not a Verizon user, I am with T-Mobile on the RDS/RadioComm Mod.
So I am just gonna suck it up and use it on stock, nothing wrong with it it works i like it. (Bugs me a little bit that i f up =( )
Next phone will be a stock Unlocked Phone so i don't have to worry about this, Been eyeing the HTC one Mini.
Or the Razr I. We will see... too many projects at the moment not enough money to buy a new phone.
