imei:certi fail - Galaxy Note 3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have a new SM-N900
AP:N900ZSUBMI5
CP:N900XXUBMI2
CSC:N900OZSBMI5
MAIN BAND : N900XXUBMI2
BUILT NO : JSS15.JN900OZSUBMI5
KERNEL : 3.4.39-1624790 [email protected] # 1
The problem is it founds network with a ! eclamation on network. Can't get calls or net connection.
All others are working.
when hit *#0011# it says "IMEI : CERTI.FAIL"
i'm not sure if it's a EFS problem.
Is there any solution ?

The efs contents are signed if the contents change the signature is broken. think of a seal on bottle of drink once opened its no longer "sealed" and the contents may not be what you expect. this either causes bootloop or no network as the phone ignores the details

nop, my IMEI is there, but the mac isnt... mac:unavailable
im too i dont have something wrong on my imei and mac addr.. anyone can solve this ???
Try this
Backup your IMEI if it is not null
1. Your phone should be rooted
2. Download and install 5iromtoolbox
3. Open 5iromtoolbox app you installed and look for "backup imei"
App backup your phone's imei. And after that, when your imei nulled, root your phone if it isn't, install that app again and look for "restore imei"
And don't delete any folder named "5irom" or similar. It contains 3 img files. They are important.
Get back to a official GB and check your mac adress, if it's null get back to android 2.2 and take note of your mac adress
Root your phone
install the rom you wan't
check your imei, if it is null install 5iromtoolbox app again and look for "restore imei"
Override MAC Address:
-Install Terminal Emulator from Market.(with data or via PC)
-Run terminal and enter these commands: (where is "11:22:33:44:55:66" you should place your original mac address)
su
setprop persist.sys.wifimac mac_param=11:22:33:44:55:66
Hope it helps
Sorry for my bad english
doesnt work and now.. my wifi cant connect to router. i do flashing.. but wont work stil disconnect. maybe a driver or something else???

use imei.exe via cmd
Code:
imei.exe imei_sim1 imei_sim2
replace imei_sim1 and imei_sim2 to your imei
you will get file "MP0B_001_NEW"
rename to "MP0B_001"
then copy it to /data/nvram/md/NVRAM/NVD_IMEI/MP0B_001
then chown and chmod
via adb
Code:
adb.exe shell "su -c 'chmod 660 /data/nvram/md/NVRAM/NVD_IMEI/MP0B_001'"
adb.exe shell "su -c 'chown nvram.nvram /data/nvram/md/NVRAM/NVD_IMEI/MP0B_001'"
OR via terminal
Code:
su
chmod 660 /data/nvram/md/NVRAM/NVD_IMEI/MP0B_001
chown nvram.nvram /data/nvram/md/NVRAM/NVD_IMEI/MP0B_001

I think your IMEI is corrupted. Did you have a backup of EFS partition, If yes you must restore it.

Download Es Datei Explorer from play store, open it, then go to /EFS and write here if the folder is empty.
It could be a problem too, if android cant mount /efs

It's minimal chance to get it working but you can try it
Download kies and run it
In the Samsung Kies go to "Tools" there is "Firmware Upgrade and Initialisation," and click on it BUT YOUR DEVICE MUST BE UNPLUGGED
Go and bring your box and search for S/N, if there is nothing on the box about S/N, pull the batterycover out and take the battery out, search on the sticker about S/N. First in Kies you must enter your model: In your case: GT-I9500 and then click continue and write your S/N and follow the instructions

Thanks everybody helped for this tutorial. You are just great
I have done what inside the tutorial,my problem is i have only 3g,so it goes to :
-Have imei but radio off and you can't change 3G to 2G or LTE, it's always in 3G. Put the QCN again, and only click in WRITE NV.
Where to put the qcn again? I presume rf nv manager ,right?

Yes right, but first do a full backup with QPST, then, yes put my QCN in RF NV Manager, wait you will see "the program can't resset your phone" or something like that, power off your device, and power on. You will see your connections.

I go trough the guide.I have the imei (Samsung Mobile) and 3g but not 2g.Then i write my original imei,i have imei,3g and baseband but no 2g..Then i have full backup of my qcn by qpts.I open Rf NV Manager and put your qcn, then what?Because nothing happens.Pls help.
RF NV Manager
@rombdeta
Could you pls explain to me the steps after put the qcn to RF NV Manager?
When i press put the qcn into rf nv manager , there is no nv items.I chose read supported rf nv items and go to 550 enter my imei, click write nv,write only listed nv items to qcn ,its okay. But once to restore the qcn with qpts there is no imei ,baseband,no signal, nothing.
I appreciated your help.
I am getting this error when I tried to restore the qcn file.

No need to save the QCN, because that remove some of the QCN package, so you only have to click on "Write NV". Rewrite the QCN package, and do as I tell you, if you can't repair your device, send me a message and I'll help via TeamViewer. Greetings.
Hi @rombdeta, I followed the procedure to restore my IMEI code, but when I click on "settings > comport" the "RF_NV_Manager.exe" crash.. What can I do? Where's the problem?
Try with other PC
I really need help. Gone to CM11 version as specified done the adb shell. Now trying to config a COM Port. I don't know which COM Port is mine? I've got the A001 showing once in other devices with a ? and i have an android device stated as ADB shell in another.
I'm really confused. Please help
Thank god
Figured it out. Might i suggest a re-write?
Very much appreciated though!!

Question about Balong bug

I looked but could not find. How do you know that you have the "Balong bug". When I look at my system info, I find a Balong board mentioned but when i look at my TWRP backup it also says ...... Balong. So how can you find out ? noobie

Just check in the Update Section of your Settings. When you are not able to update from a local file then you have the Balong Bug.
Oh okay, I was just wondering if there is a way to check ?

If you go to settings about phone and it says
Balong c50b311 you got the bug
No, when I look at "about phone" it doesn't (it says C432B564), Balong is mentioned in Aida54 under "board" but when I look at the TWRP backup folder I have a folder with my serial and inside that a folder with date, hour and at the end BalongC52B311. That is why I was wondering about the bug. As you know I tried to copy the backup to my comp (to be on a safe side, since my Hi Suite backup doesn't work (it hangs on getting data).

What your phone says is the most important.
balong is sort off the name of our chipset and i shouldn't be to worried if it appears in your backups. it'sjust data and not system anyway so.

it doesn't matter what your backup says... it says "Balongxxxx" because of the board... it says similar in my backup too... what really matter is what does your build number say on Settings>>About Phone>>Build Number...
in your case, it says C432B564 then you dont have BalongBug...
P.S. i think "BalongBug" is good username... i've already used it in few of my accounts..
