Most likely your network isn't supporting it yet.
My old S4 was the same until O2 released 4G, then there was an update which enabled it.

What software version do you have right now?

The Note shows LTE selection depending on which provider SIM card is inserted.
That seems to be the reason, why so many CSC versions are released.

Untrue my friend, depending on the software and which provider released it (if any) they disable or enable it. I have 2 note 3's (one for development) exact same 4g sim one has 4g enabled the other not because of the firmware version.
Also if it IS enabled on he firmware and you DONT have a 4G sim it also will not show up so you are half right.

i am on vodafone ireland unlimited data calls text 4g price plan
my sim card gets 4g on my samsung galaxy express 2 but not on note 3

Read thru my thread -- you'll probably have to do the same changes to CSC's and then reset the CSC code.

That's what I meant. I have DBT CSC, and only if I insert a SIM of a provider which does not yet have an LTE network, the LTE selection ist not shown. There's no such thing as an LTE SIM here. If one's network has officialy LTE at all, then it still depends on your contract and dataplan, if you can log into LTE, or remain in 2G/3G, not on your SIM. The only network operator without LTE here is known to Samsung, thus all their SIMs cause the ROM not to show LTE selection.

Do you have LTE menu option on your One? (not EE customers)

I am on Three UK, and although LTE is not rolled out yet, I was surprised that the LTE menu options do not appear at all. For example, why wouldn't I have this option in case I roamed to a foreign country that provides LTE to roamers.
In the network options I only have
WCDMA only
GSM/WCDMA auto
I know those on EE have another option for LTE.
Supposedly LTE and 3G SIMs are the same. In fact Three will provide free LTE access later this year automatically and without any administrative changes.
Could others confirm, if they are not on an LTE network, whether they see the LTE option on the phones network settings?
I think the phone only shows the option to turn LTE on or off if it detects LTE on your network so it should appear automatically once Three launch LTE
I agree! I decompiled Settings.apk of the HTC One and the network selection option uses RadioInfo class to determine what should be shown on the menu. In fact I can even see CDMA & EV-DO there.
Excellent. Perfect answers. Thank you. For some reason I had it stuck in my head that it was based on the SIM provisioning. I should have realised that it is based on the capabilities of the network you are currently connected to rather than a provisioning option.
I have LTE option on mine, got it on vodafone contract from p4u though the phone is sim free/unlocked.

No. LTE bands in the US are way different compared to the LTE bands all around the world. I'm not sure about LTE Cat 3 though.

In reviews I keep seeing HSPA and LTE versions, which led me to believe there are models without the chip needed for 4G.
There is no answer on this though so I'm not going to rush to buy one until I know.

[Q] Galaxy S5 G900f LTE support

Hi, I am using Samsung Galaxy S5 G900f. I was wondering if my phone supports LTE/4G ? My network opperator still doesn't have 4G network, that is confirmed info, BUT does my phone support it? For example if I went somewhere where there is 4G support and insert that SIM card (I unlocked my phone with codes). I did get the S5 through my carrier so is it also possible that since my carrier does not support 4G they could have ordered S5 without LTE/4G since it wouldn't have point to have it if the network doesn't support it? Is there a way I could check if the device itself has support for LTE? I network modes I do not have LTE.
My network operator: mt:s Serbia
Country: Serbia
This is my first post to XDA EVER and virst post on any forum in a few years probably so excuse me if I made some mistakes and sorry, also sorry for my bad english.

The G900F version is the internatioal LTE variant, so yes, it supports 4G/LTE. Inserting a SIM with a 4G plan will work.
If you can't see/select LTE mode it may be because you got a specific carrier rom. Changing your rom to an open country on should enable it once more.
Thank you! That's a relief. Won't change rom yet because of warranty and no LTE here either way but good to know.
Thank you again.
Sent from my SM-G900F using XDA Free mobile app
Yes, it supports LTE.
You're not seeing the LTE option under network modes because the option is disabled for your Carrier, thus it will not show up when you have your SIM inserted.
If your carrier does not have LTE yet, then it is turned off in the firmware by Samsung for your carrier SIM. If you were to insert a SIM from a carrier that has LTE, you may be able to use it. (Depending on how long they've had LTE and if it was enabled. Each carrier has to be enabled in a list.)
Enabling it is done via firmware update.

D855 sea fw. And 4g lte option

When I was out earlier I downloaded the 4g app of the play store selected lte option only and 4g was then on my screen, I'm in the uk by the way three network, so I then deleted the app and still 4g was present but when I go to network settings on the phone which only had the the 3G 2g option I still have 4g until I lose the signal back to h+ ,So is there is no 4g in south east Asia just wondered why there is no 4g option?

I had same problem. Cannot be fixed even if you use the magic menu 3845#*855#. The Singapore firmware will not give the LTE option for mobile settings. You'll need to return your G3 and get a Euro model. EBay sellers are aware of this issue with Asian G3s.

EBay rules allow returns if seller claimed it works on UK LTE network and does not. If you need to keep it then you'll just have to keep running the LTE selection app you have after reboots.

I bought my G3 in Indonesia so its an SEA version. I have no 4G option here in Indonesia (where there is no 4G), but if I pop in a Smart Philippines SIM card (they do have 4G), the 4G option does appear. I've tested the 4G in the Philippines and it works fine.
The key is a SIM card which is provisioned for 4G. You won't see 4G as an option unless the SIM is provisioned for it, even if you're currently connected via 3G to a network operator which has a 4G network.

That theory doesn't hold because people (including me) can manually toggle to 4g. The setting is just lost in the next reboot.
If you root and get rid of the LTEConfig it will stay permanant...http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=54621213&postcount=26so not a SIM or hardware issue...
I have an sea version and I'm in uk. Lte works fine. Just delete ltesettings.apk
YOu have 2 options....
1- Root it with pourple drake and delete the lte apk and the odex file, restart the phone and check again.
2- Install one of the latest GLOBAL roms from LG, J version and N version are globals...this will give you the option of LTE, if it does not come up, repeat step one and you are good to go.
I currently use a D855 SEA version in Costa Rica, and LTE works perfectly...network speed is around 8Mbps average, sometimes I can reach 15-16...

Hi,
Wondered if you can help....just got the LG G3 which was meant to be a euro version but is SEA (V10K-SEA-XX) and I'm new to anmdroid having just moved from iPhone so forgive my stupidness........do I need to root to be able to delete that file....and if not how do I do it?
thanks for any help.

Yeah you need to root your phone. I think purple drake is best for this at the moment but try stump root first as it is easier (just download the apk). If you don't wish to root, try installing the app (ltesettings) as that *could* work.
I would advise flashing twrp with bump and then a custom lollipop rom as it is much better than KK on G3.

I have a V10L-EUR-XX firmware and I've tried removing the lteconfig.apk and lteconfig.odex however restarting or going into the network menu continues to reset the phone back to 3G. The hidden menu does allow me to switch to 4G, but as known this is only temporary.
Has anyone else experienced this and been able to fix the issue permanently? I'd rather not flash another firmware, but I will if it's the only option left.

Why does my Note 3 show 4G with one SIM and 3G with another?

I have a Samsung Note 3 that I bought from Mobilicity (Canada).
It is unlocked.
When I put my Wind Mobility SIM card in, the data says 4G.
I want to give the phone to my sister, who broke hers, but she is with Rogers.
I put her Rogers SIM in my phone and everything works great.
But, I don't understand why the phone says 3G with her Rogers SIM in it.
Does anyone know why? I was under the impression that Rogers is faster than Wind's data. So how can Wind be 4G but Rogers 3G.
Both carriers have the same model number of the Note 3.
Wind has 4g? Maybe the Rogers card is not an LTE sim?
Could be any number of reasons:
- The provider isn't enabled for 4G in the Build.prop.
- The SIM is too old.
- The SIM doesn't support LTE
Probably the first. The list of 4G enabled providers rarely makes sense. It is literally just a matter of 'true' or 'false'.
We had a similar issue in the EU with various firmwares when 4G became available, every CSC has its own list of 4G enabled providers. For instance, DBT (Germany) had 4G enabled for T-Mobile NL, while the T-Mobile NL firmware didn't have 4G enabled for itself.

Hmm... I'll ask my sister to check her SIM card. But I doubt they would have given her the wrong "new" SIM card that she just got.
If the Rogers sim card is new, it would be a LTE-enabled card so that can't be it. Also, Wind only has a 3g network.

Okay... but like I said, when my Wind SIM is in, my Note 3 displays 4G.

With the Wind sim, is it connected to the Wind network or is the phone roaming? Is the phone set to auto/LTE in settings? The phone is running a completely stock ROM? Phone is the sm-n900w8?

It's connected to the Wind Network... it's not roaming.
Under "Network Mode" it says:
WCDMA/GSM (auto-connect).
Wcdma/gsm appears with the wind card or Rogers card?
I've seen Samsung phones with stock firmware incorrectly displaying 4G for Wind, even though Wind's network is 3G.

Okay thanks for this comment above. It was helpful because it got me searching for more along that line.
When I went into the settings, there was no option to choose LTE, but I know it's an LTE capable phone because the box said it was, and the sticker on the phone said 4G/LTE.
So I did some searching and found that there is a code that you have to use to set the phone to the Network you are using if you want to make use of the LTE.
Rogers has LTE.
I will go into a Rogers and ask them to do it, because I don't want to ruin my sister's phone (my phone that I gave to her, because her's broke).
It's *2012# (IMEI)* Something like that. I have it written down, so I'll bring it to the Rogers store and ask them.
Hopefully that will get her phone working on Rogers LTE, but in the meantime, she hasn't noticed a difference in data speed anyway.
But thanks for your help, and also to everyone else who posted a reply. :victory:

Supposed to choose 4g if available but it's not always the case.
Sometimes shows 3g or H+ but if I change my network mode to LTE only then I get 4g no problem.

I don't have the phone anymore. My sister has it, so I can't check. She's technically challenged, so I wouldn't even be able to get that info from her on the phone. Lol
But I will see if I need to turn on the other bands by using that code to set it to Rogers' service.

Exynos on AT&T or T mobile

Does anybody use the exynos varient on AT&T or T-Mobile? I'm wondering if you get good service. I'm currently using an exynos S8+ on AT&T without any problems.
i had s9 duos exynos on att. excellent reception. im located in Boston.
Download speedtest to check your data/wifi speed
Thank you for the information. I looked up the S9 exinos on frequencycheck.com. It supports 3 out of the 4 4g bands on AT&T. According to the website the s10 exynos only supports 2 out of 4. So that doesn't help too much but I never thought about checking the s9 since I know it works well.
Works great for me. I got an Exynos from Australia when my phone died. Checked the bands for SM-G975F, and it has all the T-Mobile LTE bands EXCEPT band 71. So you will be good unless you go into rural USA.
Only thing I don't get is Carrier Aggregation. I have wifi calling and VOLTE..
Thank you for the info. After looking up that model it should work fine on both networks. That website I was using has wrong info on some of the models. I think I will buy the SM-G975F.

I also have the G975 F(BTU - United Kingdom) I live in Milwaukee on ATT Network. I get great LTE Speeds - the only thing I don't get is Wifi Calling and ATT Video Calling - ATT only supports their phones for those features - at least until there is a custom CSC that we can flash (like someone did for the Note 9, S8Plus, etc)
Do you have VoLTE at least on AT&T with the exynos?

Thank you for the info. I want to keep AT&T but I would switch to T-Mobile to get the exynos variant if needed. But I'm glad I can keep my service. I had the original IPhone and I'm grandfathered in to the original unlimited data plan. I didn't even know AT&T offered wifi calling. Before my exynos s8+ I had a note 4 and for about a year my moms extra free IPhone 6. It wasn't an option back then. I don't really care about WiFi calling though. I get good service where it matters most. I can't wait for S10+ Roms!

I am on Exynos, wouldn't have this problem with the SD version (I'd hope). I have factory reset a few times, but never see the CA as activated. I'll check from time to time, but also away from my house it doesn't show that CA is activated. Might be the XSF (australian) version that doesn't aggregate the t-mobile bands.

I am on Exynos, wouldn't have this problem with the SD version (I'd hope). I have factory reset a few times, but never see the CA as activated. That could be it. I'm using TPA CSC and some other people on that CSC confirmed carrier aggregation working on T-mobile.
Snapdragon (Chinese or Hong Kong variant) does not support carrier aggregation in T-mobile from what a user posted.

Do you have a link to the post where it is CA is confirmed on TMO?
For which model the Chinese Snapdragon?
CA is working for me on Exynos. It is not the same as US Snapdragon CA but still better than no CA at all

Do you need to flash a CSC and/or modem from a US carrier onto an exynos international phone to get VoWIFI, CA, VoLTE, etc? Or does it "just work?" If you need a special CSC do you just pull HOME_CSC out of a US carrier's firmware and flash it with odin or something?

Hi
You should not flash any firmware from a Snapdragon into a Exynos..... You may not be able to get some of the service provider options using the Exynos firmware, i guess is a try and see situation, but one thing is for sure do not flash a Snapdragon firmware into an Exynos.
Everything else should work , modem is ready for all frequencies but CDMA
in case anyone comes looking, i've tried it on an exynos G973F with XSG csc (one of the OXM multi ones) just because that's what was on the phone.
VoLTE seems to be working on T-Mobile in the US without any messing around, based on the "HD" icon appearing during voice calls. Voice over WiFi seems to also work.
The phone is dual SIM with a TMO sim and an ATT sim. It doesn't get VoLTE on ATT, but I believe that's probably because AT&T only allows it on approved devices.
