[GUIDE][XPOSED] How to Have Ram-Free Floating Apps Anywhere - Kindle Fire General

We all know the Kindle Fire has almost no RAM. On a good day I'll get 150mb free (unless you run CM7 :/). Ever since I rooted and installed ICS, one of the most useful apps in my eyes has been apps in the likes of Sidebar Pro, Glovebox, etc. But apps like that eat away our precious RAM! So I've been sidebar-less for awhile until I stumbled across Slide Launcher. It opens apps from the Quick Launch (holding down Home button) and it's compatible with Halo! So today I'm going to show you how to set up Slide Launcher so it opens floating apps and what not (with super-duper uber neat, step-by-step picture guides!)

}
Requirements:
-Rooted Kindle Fire (1st Gen)
-Any ROM from ICS to KK
-Xposed Installer
-Slide Launcher
-The ability to read English
Step 1: Download and install Xposed Framework. Once you install it, go to Framework and press Install/Update. Reboot.
Step 2: Open up Xposed and scroll down to until you see XHaloFloatingWindow. DL and install. Reboot.
Or here's the thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2419287
Step 3: Install Slide Launcher:
Here's the thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2508503&highlight=launcher
Or Play Store Link: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.suxsem.slidelauncher
Step 4: Add the apps you want to slide launcher.
Step 5: Go to Slide Launcher settings, swipe right until you get to behavior, and check Halo.
Note: You can and individually choose whether apps open floating or not (but if you added every app to SL, keep it as Global Setting)
And that's it! Enjoy RAM-free floating-app-opening from anywhere!
Note: For KK users, I haven't been able to add it to Quick Launch automatically (I'm running KitKang 12/10 nightly). To fix this, go to QL settings, choose Select Application, Activities, Slide Launcher, and then Launcher. It should show up in QL now.
Now don't be thinking I made any of this (for some reason) so yeah...credits I guess?

This will work until amazon sends another update that breaks root if on stock rom. After, you'll have to do these steps again after re rooting.

This shouldn't be in development, it should go in general.
For some reason I'm not able to get to the data/data/com.android.settings/files point. It should be easy to get to, but it's not.
I'll keep looking. I'm fairly new to all of this.
I found this in another thread...
1- browse to "/data/data/com.android.settings/files"
2- change "wallpaper" permissions to be writable
(in ES file explorer: if the directory is empty make sure you checked "root explorer" and "mount file system" in the settings)
Unfortunately it would not allow me to make these changes.
This is my guide for changing and keeping wallpapers on rooted stock with any launcher...
Step 1: change your wallpaper to what you want it to be.
Step 2: hurry to your computer (without turning your fire off).
Step 3: connect your fire to your PC.
Step 4: go into KFU and go into extras, then choose lock wallpaper.
Step 5: you are done! Good luck.
Is "KFU" Kindle Fire Updates? If it is, I don't even have an "extras" folder.
KFU is Kindle Fire Utility, you can download it in the development thread of this forum

Let the phone reboot
Now open Xposed > Download > Search > XMultiwindow Mod > Scroll down and click Download > Install app after download

I use it daily on my S4 Mini with stock JB 4.2.2 ROM, rooted. Works great! For example, when playing music, I like to have GoneMAD Music Player in upper half screen with ES File Explorer showing song files in bottom half screen:

[MOD] Star Wars Vehicles Pattern Lock **CLOSED**

Why not make your phone look awesome before you start using it?

Presenting some pattern lock mods that use vehicles from Star Wars to make your phone look...well...awesome!
If you want to use these, you can do so in four separate ways:
If you know how to decompile files (if you don't, you really should), download the icons you want by selecting one of the '?_Pattern_Lock_Icons.zip' files and add them to the appropriate 'drawable-?dpi' folder in your 'framework-res.apk'.
Or, if you don't like decompiling files yourself and you're on Android 4.1 or above, try flashing one of the '?_PatternLock_Flashable_JB.zip' files. Because of the way that Android works, I can't guarantee that this will work on your particular setup. If it works for you, your existing 'framework-res.apk' will have these icons added to it, so any other mods you may have done won't be touched. And if you flash in CWM, you'll even get a flashable backup automatically made for you!
Or, if the above two options aren't working for you, you can make the changes with ZipThemer. Just install the ZipThemer app, which you can find on Google Play, download the '?_PatternLock_ZipThemer.zip' file you want and use it.
What if you're one of those amazing, clever, innovative and incredibly good-looking people who use 'Tickle My Android', you can add these icons to your current selection. Just download 'Star Wars Pattern Lock TMA Icons.zip', extract it in 'user_files\ICONS\PATTERNLOCK\' and run the tool as normal. TMA will automatically add the icons to the list you can choose from.
And this is what they look like. Be aware, these images might be a bit large but they need to be to show off the icons properly.

Enjoy!
A duplicate thread? How the heck did I do that?
Oh well, I'm closing this thread. If any moderators feel like deleting it, I really wouldn't mind.

Not included in the credits? Please message me and I will edit this post.
*Your phone must be rooted first before you can use MixRadio app in order to bypass country restriction.
1. Download MixRadio.rar and extract it to your phone. Do not open it first.
2. Download Market Enabler by For2w in 1Mobile Market
3. Download Psiphon in 1Mobile Market
4. Open Market Enabler and choose a Carrier and Country (I prefer a US Carrier) and leave it open.
5. Open Psiphon and choose to Tunnel Whole Device. Also, leave the app open.
6. Now open Mixradio App. And uninstall Market Enabler and Psiphon right away.
7. Download Link2SD and open it. Choose the MixRadio app and tap "Actions" and "Convert to System App" - To avoid unwanted uninstallation.
8. Restart
That's it you have a working MixRadio App!!

** This MixRadio.rar was extracted from a Nokia X2 device - not ported or even modified. (Tell me if this works with older Nokia X series)
Works like a charm
One more reason to root my phone. I was looking for a solution to make mixradio works and here it is! Thanks, i will try it as soon as i root the devise.
EDIT: this method worked fine for me, i have uninstalled mixradio from system to be able to install it as user app and finally i can use it without problems. Thanks again
Tnnks, its a great music service. Songs are 32kbps but have good quality. I prefer it over spotify free.
Thanks for sharing. My question is what if my phone boots? Is the mixradio still working?
