aviwdoowks, thanks for that! my phone is good to go!

also i noticed the system version is 98.30.1.XT907.Verizon.en.us rather that what i had mentioned. what is the difference between these two versions?
Thanks!

You guys are great - just exchanged the M for the Maxx HD and lo and behold, this thread is already here.
edit: I'm assuming the Maxx HD has the same firmware as the regular HD - like the Maxx and original Razr... maybe I shouldn't assume though??
edit 2: If I just looked a little harder I could've seen that they're clearly identical systems... thanks again
I have searched here, Google, etc and can't find Moto Android (De)packer 1.4 anywhere. Can anyone post it here?

Hi I think you need rsdlite 6.0
Envoyé depuis mon XT925 avec Tapatalk
FYI, I still get the "getvar" error on 6.1.4 as well. No big deal, but thought I would mention it.
does this work on razr maxx hd?

I have tried to use rsdlite 6.0 and 6.1.4 but both failed on the stage switching to fastboot mode.
Phone is switched to fastboot, but rsdlite 6.0 waits several minutes and then says that failed.
rsdlite 6.1.4 says without waiting "Failed flashing process. Unknown fastboot command. (getvar)"
In fact my version of XT926 is developers one (not for sale). It has some developers firmware with release date Apr 11 2012.
This frimware is very unstable, that's why I want to upgrade it. Maybe due to this a have problems with usual method of upgrade.
Does any body have ideas how to make the upgrade?
For what it's worth, no matter what version of rsdlite I've used, I've had to remove the getvar commands from the xml files to get them to work - I'm on XT926, but sounds similar.
RSD Lite continues saying Failed Flash Process. unknown Flashboot Command. Im trying to get it to boot by reinstalling the factory firmware. Please Help me

When you extract the rar with the firmware, there is an xml called "VZW_XT926_4.0.4-7.7.1Q-144_VQW_S3-34-25_CFC". Its the last file in the folder. Im going to try deleting the getvar part and ill get back with results.

12-16-2013 - Verizon Update - Need help

Booted into windows, and plugged my Note 3 in via USB. Suddenly the Verizon Software Update tool downloaded a 1.5gb file, but i dont know what to do now. I'm dreaming this is 4.4 Kitkat, but i know thats not till Jan/2014 if the leaks are right....
I am stock, not rooted. on MJE firmware
this is the name of the file
SM-N900V_VZW_1_20131113083740_7k9fnn9wqq.zip.enc2
Anyone know what to do with this?
I have found the file that was downloaded, i believe it is encrypted. anyone know how to tinker with it to see whats inside?
Gooble search only brought up note 1 stuff on enc2 files.

Looks like unfortunately, it is just the MJE firmware. I installed the Verizon Update Manager, and was able to start the upgrade process, which downloaded SM-N900V_VZW_1_20131113083740_7k9fnn9wqq.zip.enc2 to my AppData/Roaming/Verizon_AR folder, then made a decrypt folder, to which it extracted SM-N900V_VZW_1_20131113083740_7k9fnn9wqq.zip. I opened that zip file, and it contained N900VVRUBMJE_N900VVZWMJE_N900VVRUBMJE_HOME.tar.md5. I'm not sure why it is downloading it for you, since you say you are already on MJE, but looks like no KitKat yet :/
Thanks for the quick answer. Not the answer I wanted....lol but thanks...

[Q] Bootloader unlock question 4.1.2 or 4.4.2

OK guys- here is my issue. I have 4.1.2 and I am rooted. Should I use motopacolypse and unlock first? I can not upgrade to the new kit kat- it fails during install as of right now. I imagine because I am rooted? All the recoveries I have seen are for stock kitkat only. A little help is much appreciated.
I don't think motoapocalypse works with 4 1 2 does it?

Apparently I'm a new user so I can't post links. It's okay though because Google is your friend.
Yes, you can. I just did it on my phone. (I bought a new one from Amazon a few days ago.) I started in Jelly Bean 4.1.2 (System version 98.30.1).
Here are the steps I took to unlock my bootlader. Most of this is duplicated from other forum posts.
Download and install RSD Lite.
Enable USB debugging on my phone.
Download whatever Motorola drivers and things and Android SDK. (This might not be important for some of this, but I also do it just to be sure.) I downloaded the SDK with Eclipse included because the download button was bigger. I'm sure any of them would work.
Download the 4.4.2 ROM. I heard that you have to use version 183.46.10. I WOULD NOT use any newer version.
Extract zip file.
Open the .xml file and delete all lines that mention "var" or "oem". There were 3 lines for me. Save the file.
Open RSD Lite and browse to the edited .xml file.
Click "Start". It should start flashing 4.4.2 onto your phone. Don't do anything dumb like unplug it if the battery's about to die.
Once your phone boots up, enable developer options (press the build number in "About Phone" a bunch of times).
Enable USB debugging. If a prompt comes up tell your phone to always allow your computer.
Download and install towelroot. You probably have to tell your phone to allow you to install apps from other sources. All kinds of security warnings will come up. Ignore them. Live life on the edge.
Run towelroot and root your phone.
Download the motopocalypse apk file. (I couldn't get the computer based one to play nice for me.)
Install and run motopocalypse. I pushed the unlock button a bunch of times. You probably don't need to do this, but it is satisfying. You'll probably also be asked to give motopocalypse root access.
You can double check that your phone is unlocked with Fastboot.

I can't seem to get stock recovery to come up. I've even flashed the stock recovery again just in case. It comes up to just a black screen after i select recovery
That typically means it's corrupt. Check the md5 on it and verify that it's correct and flash it again.

HAHAHA! That'd do it. I was going to mention volume up + power but you mentioned a black screen so I was a bit confused as that generally only happens with a corrupt recovery partition. Never considered that possibility. LOL

Just a note from me on this, I sideloaded it with no problem and kept root just as the OP said. Truly awesome that Moto didn't blast root with this update. Now we wait a few weeks for the FXZ. Let's not break anything until that happens. LOL
Can somebody re-upload the recovery file?

Link on AFH for Tmobile N930T Firmware above. I only posted the link, did not provide the actual firmware.
I *think* I have the most current firmware so flashing this would be just to fix problems, correct? Or maybe I'm not reading the version correctly? My build number says MMB29M.N930TUVU1APGC. Also, can someone tell me what the prefixes in the OP reference? (AP, BL, CP, etc.)
Sorry for the dumb question... My rooting days ended with Note 2 and I promise I searched.

You are correct...should you need to be able to flash full stock Odin tar to recover a brick, this is your file lol the prefixes in the files are BL=BOOTLOADER, CP=MODEM, and AP is basically your rom/recovery tar slot...there's a slot that's associated with each mount point in the physical storage for each separate partition in the device, and there's a few others but I'd only concern myself with these 3 until you're up to speed on recent techniques...AP is basically sort of the "general purpose" slot, you'll use it for recovery images, supersu tars, twrp tars, full roms in tar format, etc...BL and CP you ONLY FLASH WHEN YOU HAVE EXACT AND SPECIFIC INDIVIDUAL BOOTLOADER OR MODEM TARS! I can't stress this part enough...screw up and flash a different device variant recovery in AP slot, you can always save, flash the wrong bootloader and you've got a paperweight...so don't play unless you're sure of what you have or just don't care about a grand and got it like that lol
Hope that helps, I'd suggest making Google my biatch for a while until you're current on what's happening software-side....good luck!

Is this the original firmware from the August launch? I'm seeking a clean build without the annoying gigantic safety warning box while charging nor the stop at 60% battery life update. It would be nice to return the phone to original August launch conditions so I can just use Package Disabler to block all unwanted updates.
