[Q] mobile data shuts down - Galaxy S 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

hello guys i recently installed the new version of 'foxhound' rom 3.4,
anyhow, ever since, i got this wierd problem which
every time i turn the screen off, the data mobile shuts off,
when i turn the screen back on the phone turns the data back on (most of the times.)
anyhow, i've tried my best, reinstalling the rom, shifting from WCDMA to LTE/GSM/CDMA or GSM/WCDMA nothing helps.
btw at my last foxhound version (1.5 or something) it used to happen only at night so when it did i had to research my mobile network
any clues ? :\ thanks in advance

No, I mean, I was asking if you were in Spain and with the carrier Yoigo, because they are having exactly the same non solved problem. I see you don't... so it is not due to the carrier...
Here are a lot of people like you, maybe you can use Google translate:

solution
anyway some guy (kobine @ iandroid.co.il) told me that there's a problem with 4.3 roms (i9505 only)
so in order to fix the DATA shutdown issue you have to replace the modem to mj5 or newer modem.
http://d-h.st/QUu here's a link for mk8, instructions: for ---i9505 ONLY---, unrar the md5 file, load it in odin to the phone section (NOT PDA) and press start. gl thanks anyway.

[Q] unrevoked 3.21 on wildfire and power on problems

hello,
I used unrevoked 3.21 on my italian wildfire (nobrand) with the htc update 1.25.405.1...
After rooting, without new ROMs but with the default one, I have problems when wildfire is powered off...
Even if the battery is full, if I connect it to the power switch, the LED switch on to RED and doesn't became GREEN.
AND I cannot power on the cell (with or without power cord connected)!
I have to remove battery to power on!
IS there a solution?
thank you.
The problem is known and I think there is still no solution. It seems it's the fault of unrevoked.
Sent from my HTC Wildfire using XDA App
it is a unsolved problem with unrevoked, Charging the phone while it is off will make it unable to start it unless you remove and reinsert the battery.
BTW i have a fix for it(kind off): DO NOT CHARGE THE PHONE WHILE IT IS OFF

ahaha good fix
however , when it is off, it is realy charging or not?
there can be any problems with battery? overcharge for example?
however, in this forum, I have read (and I cannot find it anymore... ) that the problem is clockwork recovery and someone suggested to install the original recovery to fix it.
Is it really possible? doing this, can I keep su/root mode?
thank you
I think there is another problem rooting wildfire with unrevoked; sometime (after some minutes my cell is in stand-by mode) switching on the display I cannot see the WIFI icon on the notify bar (as if it was disconnected).
Some seconds after, the icon come back

Have been able to charge untill green while the phone is off with the unrevoked, after that i unpluged the charger, removed/reinserted the battery. And started up.
Have never heard that unrevoked have caused overcharge.

Grazie Ciao

hi....
again, is there any solutions for this issue ?
i downloaded a rom from shipped.com and tried to reflash it, but the process always stucked in the middle.
Yeah this bug is annoying. I have been considering using an RUU to unroot because of this problem. I hope someone works out a fix for it.

Did you succeed to unroot your WF ?
I tried to reflash using Asian RUU but the process stopped in the middle, and said something like I should get a suitable ROM.

Hi guys, i have the same power on issue, there is a way to contact or inform the developer's team to fix this bug?
Hello,to eliminate this problem you can remove unrevoked?
I tried to flash my wildfire with Froyo but unrevoked is always installed, with this problem of red light ...

Professionals should try to phone a friend wildfire htccn chs2.10.1400.3 foryo 2.2 the root should have about 2 months now that I'm looking for this program and no one has been able to implement it
Methods that have been tested and have failed
Methods that have been tested and have failed
Using programs unrEVOked
Using r1-buzz-root program that works adb
And a test file and transferred to the phone after installing the update file is root Phones
Application SuperOneClickv1.5.4-ShortFuse
Or file transfer recovery-clockwork-2.5.0.1-buzz and its conversion to update.zip file after turning off the phone and then went to bootloder part of recovery but this was not the answer
And several other solutions that unfortunately none of them led to my phone not being root
Which is why I am overwhelmed and I ask you help on this matter I hope someone can help me to
How many times must people ask this? There is still currently no way to root the chinese froyo you just simply have to wait for unrevoked to release a new version. I'm just wondering why you guys upgraded to this without reading and searching first

z4root luego rom manager luego com.speedsoftware.rootexplorer.v.2.12.3.apk
donot work
I do not think you z4root program to work because the new version of the program it was announced that 1.2.1 that is used for non-Wildfire

My sgs2 drops 3g - hsdpa connection randomly

Hi , im suffering one big problem... My phone suddenly disconnects from the 3g or hsdpa signal at the point that Im not able to receive or make phone calls , to resolve that I need to go to airplane mode or wait 2 -3 minutes . Its not an operator problem becuase I had the exact same settings (apn) with my captivate and I never faced that.
Ive tried many roms , many modems , and even disable Fast dormancy without no luck.
So , is anyone suffering the same problem? , is there any way to fix it!
thanks!

Ugh........................
same trouble for me
Because everyone that's posting is from the far corners of the world, there's no stock answer to radio issues. Some of the problems have been carrier specific and even down to a certain city on that carrier.
1) The phone's designed to drop from "H" to "3G" when data's not in use to save battery. When working properly it picks back up immediately when needed.
2) By default, "fast dormancy" is enabled on the phone. It too is to save battery and works well on carriers that support it. Not so well on carriers that don't.
Dig around on the forum and you'll find tons of discussion on every flavor of radio issue.
I was able to get rid of that problem by wiping data/restoring stock settings and then NOT installing any configs from the configuration messages my operator sent me.
Ain't had any problems since. 3G/H+ working perfectly.
Ive tried many methods , many roms , many modems , tweaks... And had NO luck ... I just can say its not a network issue , or a software , I think its the phone itself because my old cappy always worked great!
Im going to exchange it! , thats seems to be the only solution...

That is fine, if you want it that way. But it should be an option -- I want to turn it off as it thoroughly ruins my browsing experience, but there seems to be no way of doing so. Which is annoying to say the least.

Hi, I´m also from Costa Rica, i had this exact same problem, signal would just drop, could not see the phone network, i thought i had a bad phone, then I disabled fast dormancy and disabled HSPA, so that only the 3G logo stayed when using mobile data. In Costa Rica the 3g speed´s are low so disabling HSPA was no problem for me. I have no problems anymore with the signal dropping.
To Disable HSPA
Go to the phone dialer pad and enter this code: *#301279#
Click [2] CHANGE HSPA REVISION
Click [1] RELEASE 99 (HSPA OFF)
I´m on stock KE2, not rooted yet
Saludos TIcos! jaja
Ok, to keep it in English.
So I need to enter that code: *#301279#
Then which of the 2 options should I press? The 2 or the 1?
I'll try this just in case disabling Fast Dormancy doesn't work.
Thanks!
You press 2 first ....then it takes you to another menu, then press option 1
does this work?
worked here

Ok , Tomorrow I will send my sgs2 to repair.. Im hoping to get a fully functional phone again , btw I think there are just only few phones suffering this right? , I guess its not a problem in all the sgs2 phone over all the world xD

Di si, mala nota.
Mine seems to be working just by disabling fast dormancy.
By the way dude. If my phone has 1 year warranty, where in Costa Rica could I take it for revision?
Thanks

The problem is with all sgs2.
Some people just don't realise it.
I've got the same problem in UK.
well.. its a very annoying problem ... hopefully mine is related with my network provider.. I will test on monday..!
Those are good news for us the "Ticos" since it means there are no faulty phones. Just a crappy network.

LG E900 boot problem SOLVED

hello guys..
after almost 3 months, trying to revive my LG E900, from the boot problem, when the phone stuck on LG logo; tried everything, from cold boot, to flash firmware, and nothing...
Today i decided to try to fix the hardware by myself..
so with the thread created by wm.andrew.wilson i have successfully disassembled my phone.
well first it looks like this : main board
but when i removed the upper board and booted the phone, it worked, just with this board mounted with the hole phone...
but removing the upper board will deprive me from using a sim card, as you see, the sim card must be inserted in this board..
so after few test, i realised that the WIFI+FM receptor is the problem, shot circuit it and booted the phone, worked perfectly, so i just decided to sacrifice my WIFI+FM and try it, i removed it as you can see here . i just cut it ...
assembly the phone, and everything worked fine, just when you try yo activate the WIFI, it just keeps loading and nothing happen.. so you can use your phone normally and listen to your music, play games, download... you will ask how to download without WIFI ( wifi ship removed ) i tell you, you still can use your USB DATA CABLE with ZUNE and download everything from MARKETPLACE, even i guess the user account, you can do it with ZUNE, and if not, you can just restore your phone
well this was my try, and i do not ask you to try it, unless you are curious enough and take the risk, but i am not responsible of any damage you may cause to your phone, and be carefully this void your warranty.
Same here. removin upper board makes my phone usable again. Unfortunately not lucky as you, removing WIFI+FM receptor by cutting it didn't solve the problem.
Hi, guys! Have you seen New SIM Card Micro-HD Flex Cable for LG E900 Optimus 7 on ebay (excuse me, forum doesn't allow me to post external links)?
Is it right part?
How to fix problem
Only one way to fix boot problem is to buy New SIM Card Micro-HD Flex Cable for LG E900 Optimus 7 from ebay.com (30$) or from mobile-cherry.com (28$), disassemble phone and replace your broken board (FIX LG optimus E900 digitized, reparar cristal LG E900 on youtube.com). In my case it worked.
I confirm . worked

Buttons backlight ALWAYS on, Even when the phone powered off!

I've recently bricked my phone and i had to boot to EDL using test points method. I've noticed that after i did that, the buttons would ALWAYS be lit up no matter what i do. I even unplugged and battery connection and plugged it back in again and they'd still immediately turn back on. I've tried using custom roms and editing values manually using a file explorer but it'd still be constantly on no matter what I do. What's the cause of this and is it fixable?
My last resort would be to just cut off power to the LEDs on the buttons but that just seems a little bit extreme to me
Any help would be greatly appreciated
