Camera consistently grainy - Droid RAZR M Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I know Motorola has never been known for good cameras, and is really do like my RAZR M, but is there no solution to the consistently grainy photos it takes? It kills me how much better photos are on even an old iPhone compared to this thing. I've tried a few other apps as well but no luck. Thanks!

Try tweaking the settings. These are some pics I've taken with my M on HDR mode and they're not too bad at all:

}

Any particular tweaks you recommend? I'm feeling like it is hopeless. HDR actually looks worse for me in that it blurs.

No real "tweaks" per-se. Just set the camera to its highest MP settings, use the appropriate shutter settings for the environment you're in, and rest the phone on something if you want a good, clear shot.

Camera app Quality comparison (Vignette vs Stock)

A while ago, I purchased the vignette app. I saw post's on this here already comparing this and and stock evo but it only had one photo.. In this I have many photo's.. Vignette also has features for editing photos not just taking pictures.. If you want it, go ahead and search on the android market.

Did you wait a few seconds after the app started for you to take pictures because that if you take pictures before that the pictures suck

Did you really have to quote/re-post a dozen pictures for that?

they are indeed fakes, but many of them have very nice features that Real brand names one doesn't offer
at Deal Xtreme you can also find a lot of those
the Android ones are specially good, as you can pretty much do anything you want with it and make you own ROMs
some other with locked in weird concoction of chinese OS might not be the greatest, but offer full features, and more than regular phones doesn't have
many which caught my eyes were among:
projector
tv
solar powered
crank powered
2 SIM
CDMA + GSM
waterproof
etc...
unfortunately all of them came with crappy OSes
however i really like the projector one, it's soooo cool
thank God , there is no
"HiPhone GaGaXy" or "HiPhone Galaxx" or anything else.
If they put in better displays they could be onto something lol
Read some of the questions. The answers are great.
Q. What resolution camera does it have?
A. It has a 0.3 mega pixel cam which gives ery clear pictures for you.
They can copy everything, it is so amusing and crazy. Such a crazy country.
Here are some pictures of the factory where these may have been made from....

Can you believe it? That is their solution. Sorry for such life.
Actually Foxconn makes the genuine Apple devices, not the fakes.

On my nexus when browsing or playing games some of my pixels turn green, nothing major just slightly annoying, pics attached.
Edit: Added better picture

Hm maybe its a problem with the actual screen and therefore can't be taken with a screenshot..... I'll try to upload pics with my phone later but, if you would notice them, also I just looked at this post on my computer and I can't see them either, it must be a problem with the LCD

Yeah sounds like it. Nothing you can do to fix that. Hopefully you're still in your 14 day window and can exchange it. I'm going to be getting mine in two weeks and have my fingers crossed that it doesn't have any defects like this.

[Q] Doubt about camera

I love everything about my s4 except one thing. Have you ever noticed that the S4 camera is like if already had a zoom? I don't know very well how to explain it but when my friends with other devices take a picture from the same point than me, their pics look like more wide, and my pictures look like if they had been zoomed a bit. That bothers me a bit cuz sometimes I don't have enough space for group pictures or any other else and I must step back a little bit more than other to get the same picture.
Does this happens also with your s4 devices? Or I might be the only one experiencing this 'issue'?
Sincerely,
Fernando

So much noise in camera photos.

I just took these shots and they are very noisy. It is like this whenever I take photos. So this a hardware problem or software? Also my software version is 1.03.400.8
You can see the noise in the black trouser and also my leg isn't that clear at all.i didn't get any update yet

NSFW tag?
Yeah my front facing camera is showing noise too
No noise here lol
Exif details? Iso shutter speed etc? Medium to low light will be grainy yes, but it is far far better than aggressive noise reduction resulting in watercolor pics. Fine grains are fine as long it's not blotchy grain
