Evo vs Iphone poll... Deleted on Engadget?

Soooo... It looks like the Evo was starting to pull ahead and all of the sudden engadget deletes the article, poll and comments. Sadly, it was a little more balanced than the previous article that was an Apple sausagefest.
Then again, it probably didn't help Steve Jobs any that the android engadget app has a widget.
Here is the now dead link. I actually do wonder why they would delete it.

Oh, come on. Engadget has been talking about how great the Evo is forever, they gave it an awesome review, and they're pretty reasonable overall.
I bet it just became too much of a hate-fest between fanboys on both sides.

Wow I'm surprised they actually did that. Surely they have some "reason" for it.
In the past they just disabled the comments, not delete the entire article. Anybody else remember when comments were disabled on engadget?

You are probably correct. The exchanges between fanboy camps can get pretty heated.
they are biased to whoever gives them more ad money. They pay the bills, guess who the boss is? Who spends more advertising revenue, apple or evo? Thats who gets more positive spin.
thats really nasty even to think about it haha cant they really deal with android?
I can't believe anyone still goes to that site.. it should be renamed to igadget.com

This is what I wrote in the comments and look at the response I get (Joshua T. actually responded, but I don't quite understand what he said and how it relates to my comment):
http://www.engadget.com/2010/06/10/...he-evo-4g-vs-iphone-4-post/comments/28543355/
Joshua is trying to say that they aren't worried which phone wins in the poll since that's our opinion not theirs. Basically I agree with them everyone is getting a bit paranoid. They gave the Evo a great review, and face it the iPhone is a good smartphone. Their reason for taking down the review was good of course if they had put up their explanation right away then people would had less conspiracies to make up.

They were paid to take it down isnt it obvious. Why would they take our down? They've done numerous comparisons on products that have yet to be released how its this an exception?

To me it was a pretty silly reason... it was a poll not a comparison. People were free to makeup their own minds. I think once something is put in print it should stay that way.

Well like I said if they had put up their reason right away and just transferred the poll then it would have been fine, but the article itself was a comparison, which is silly to try to do an in depth comparison of a device you saw in a controlled environment for an hour to a device you were allowed to use for weeks.
You guys have got to be kidding me...a "cover up the EVO love" conspiracy? Come on! The EVO wasn't even winning the poll before they took it down. They even posted an awesome review of the EVO.
It's embarrassing reading some of the Android fan's comments about this around the internet.

But I am seriously looking for other website to get my tech news.Any suggestion?I'm a taker as long as it's not biased.
Thanks.

BUUUUUTTTT, this is the second time I've seen this post on two different websites, which is why I'm posting it here because it's verbatim on both. I said the same thing you did about the credibility but it's very odd.
Anyone know anything about this?
I think somebody is on the late train. Lol

What do you mean "what other info is available"? This article is clearly outdated. This was for the first ota update that occured at the end of June. It's done and over with.
Did you actually read the article? It clearly states the Evo is still on 2.1... OLD MY MAN OLD!
Seriously Android 2.2 is coming!! Sweet!!..... OH wait, I have 2.2 man I'm on top of the game! DUDE that article is older then Pamela Anderson's breast implants or at least the information is.
You all mock, but this is the SECOND website I have seen carrying this and this is why I was confused. It had yesterday's date from yesterday's article and now this one. I think someone is screwing around and reseeding this non-news.
It IS funny though. When I read it, I had to scratch my head and wonder.

LOL, yeah it does make you go "hmm.." for just a second.
I've noticed a lot of these BS website do little more than copy/paste form other sources so if you've seen this in two places one of them is likely someone who may or may not even speak engrish and may or may not know what android even is.

theres something fishy about this...

Yep and check out the Youtube site. I don't like wishing bad on anyone but somebody needs taken to wood shed on this. I simply can't believe how horrible an idea this was.

I will agree that the Echo is a big disappointment, and I comment on sprints facebook that way.
After watching that youtube, (before that all I saw was the one pic showing off the huge hinge) the echo does look kinda cool. It's the processer, and the rest of the specs are weak.
Has anybody seen how much RAM/ROM it has? Also is that the second gen snapdragon, like the 800mhz one in the G2? The running two seperate screens at once is kinda cool.
Someone needs to be fired.

Epic fail in my book, Ill just keep my Evo until they release something worth upgrading to...
I find it hard to believe that there wasnt a handful of people at sprint that thought this was a terrible idea. I wonder it this was a one or two man mainshow as far as approval of the idea of the phone.
There is literally one or two positive comments amongst hundreds of borderline verbally "violent" comment against the Echo.
Makes you wonder if Dan just said "We are doing this phone, if you dont like it then your fired" or if the even did any market testing????

I hope they read everything on the web and not order too many of them, unless they need expensive paper weights in the office.

Seriously? This is what Sprint got all excited about. A single screen dual core phone would have been much, much more exciting.
I think Kyocera makes the best music....listen to the song they have on the youtube ad....It's great! I feel like I'm back in the '80s!
im pretty sure majority of sprint agreed that it was a failure, but kyocera pushed money and persuasion into this event.... im willing to bet sprint wanted nothing to do with this phone and kyocera paid for the event, not sprint.
So was this the equivalent of being rick rolled by sprint? I never expected to get trolled by my own phone company, they should know its bad business to play with peoples emotions when you are trying to get money from them.
But then again this is the same company who called the epic, well, the epic.

That's true... but I remember a promo CD I got with my ASUS motherboard back in the 90s pronouncing it A-soos. Those habbits are hard to break for me. :-( I just pronounce it both ways and let other folks correct me on it. lol

Actually, it's A-SOOS. Check any official video.
I thought I read they came out and said its proper pronunciation is A-sis... which is what I hear most people using. Wikipedia says Ay-soos though...
yeah, its A-soos. Check any video or even Wikipedia, yes I know its not a good source of info, but still.

I remember them saying A-sis was okay because that's how everyone in America says it... Because we can't pronounce foreign names.
Both kinda wrong.

I like watching Sascha's videos -- guy is always so upbeat and you can tell he's excited by technology. It's kind of fun to hear him surprise himself with features he hadn't noticed before. "Ohhh, look at that!!!"
I call it A-SOOS myself because, like Sascha, that's how I learned it years ago
a-soos, but how you say A is the same with Aha, not a in apple.
It's probably pronounced "Ah-suss" not "Ah-soos" or "A-soos" or "A-suss". Simply because the Asus website says Asus comes from Pegasus.
No it is really A-SIS.
I have a contact there for my reviews and even he confirms it. Straight from the horses mouth.
I suspect that as long as products are selling fast enough to keep them out of stock at retail, they don't care how people pronounce it.
The Iconia felt bulky in my hands. That said, I was intent on the A-soos..errr...A-sis Transformer.
i got mt transformer yesterday. I chose it over the iconia a500 because of the better display and the price being way lower. Plus ive owned many asus computer components and laptops which ive had no issues with.
