So, I have samsung tab 7.0 plus (WiFi and GPS) - I believe it is same hardware as P6200. However, my Tab is made by Samsung for (Japanese company) Docomo, so it's name is SC-02D.
I can not find ROM for this exact model. Now, the question:
Can I Get Paranoid Android for my device? Can I flash it with standard 6200 ROM, and Will it brick my device?
Somehow, since the hardware should be the same, it seems logical for me - to work.
Now, my device WAS ROOTED, when I got it (and I got it brand new, packed and unoppened).
I had a problem with a service, not allowing me to change lockscreen wallpaper, so I did factory reset. After that, my sistem won't go up, It offers me to choose language, time zone and set up date, and then it says "setup wizzard unexpectedly stopped", so I can't use my device. But, I can enter recovery mode ...
So, If my first question is positive, can I use usuall methods for flashing/installing Paranoid?? - under the circumstances.

I got a live demo unit Galaxy S5 (g900x) from work, and I've never used a Samsung for rooting / flashing purpose before. I was wondering if I could in fact flash a stock rom, and root the device, in order to use it as a full multimedia device ?

If Samsung continued the demo unit path as per the Galaxy S4 then the S5 demo units will be missing important hardware components, a physical connection between the Sim port and the system board being one of them. It was impossible to use an S4 demo unit as a phone for example. It was also impossible to flash a standard stock rom without the device refusing to boot, the partition table was also different.
Of course, this all might not be the case with the S5 demo units and they might simply be stock units with a modified firmware. But, if not, you have little more than a small tablet on your hands.
Thank you for your answer, I knew I couldn't use as a phone, but at least I wanted it as, like you said, a small tablet. The problem is the retail mode app that keeps launching itself and wiping the device, even if I disabled it. That's why I was hoping to flash a stock rom or at least root the device.

Definitely sounds like a similar situation to the S4 demo units, I remember they would wipe anything on the data partition on every boot. I'm not sure if the issue was ever overcome.

Do not flash a stock rom on it because most probabably you will end up in bootlooping
Try this (PLEASE BACKUP EVERYTHING BEFORE FLASHING)
-root it with CF auto root
-make a nandroid backup (THIS IS ESSENTIAL) of everything
-maintain pit, modem and bootloader files from the demo rom (from your backup) and pick other parts from a stock rom (european open rom will do)
-flash all parts with odin
-now you should have a full working mini tablet without gsm and gps signal
This method is similar to the one used on Galaxy Note 3 and i think it will work, just do the backup before for safety and i'm nor responsible from any damaged caused

Hi, after going through the process of getting the S7 fixed - and Samsung denying everything (as usual), I'd share this issue as it's been happening to multiple Samsung devices in the workplace.
Here's how to brick your phone:
-An unwilling user goes on a business network, which happens to issue Android security updates via "Android at work".
-Due to Samsung making changes to Android, it manages to break the OS.
-Enjoy a chance to either go into infinite bootloops or if you're lucky - it'll boot in an unresponsive state with a line near the top and an empty desktop.
Now get this, because we tried to flash official firmwares provided by sammobile, the software state has been changed to custom. While the "warranty void" flag remains 0, they claim the device was rooted and want to charge ~$900 for it to be fixed.
As an owner of a S4 a few years ago, who's battery exploded. (And gave me a document to sign to not tell anyone about this) A note 5 owner who's display died while overseas and Samsung refusing to repair, as it wasn't bought in the US. I do not trust Samsung to make a reliable device.
Maybe your work security updates need updating / fixing
And flashing stock with ODIN does not change status to custom, as it is a stock ROM - in fact if your status is already custom and you use ODIN to flash stock, it will change back to Official

I also got a custom status once flashing samsung firmware, but that was only because the flash was terminated before completion.
Knox flag was still not triggered.
Flashed again with the same stock and now all was fine.
Showed back as Official.
I think you should try to use SmartSwitch if you want to go back to the original firmware, tho it comes with a cost of resetting the whole device including internal storage, you could boot into safe mode, copy your data, then open SmartSwitch > More > Emergency Initialization (or something like that) > 2nd Tab > you put the device model then Search > you put the S/N (check the back of the phone for S7, or under the battery for some phones) > follow the exact instructions > it will be initialized with the latest software and good as new. Hope this helps, also everybody knows Samsung likes not to be responsible on something they did, that's why xda and the devs here exist!

I have not yet entered my google credentials, no wifi access points, and the phone is in "Airplane Mode". I expect that a Verizon system update (to Nougat?) will start soon after I turn off airplane mode & enable wifi.
I HAVE on my Win10x64 computer, properly installed Samsung drivers, installed Samsung Smart Switch, did a test backup (settings only), enabled developer mode (phone) and turned on USB debugging (phone)
I'm upgrading from a rooted Galaxy S4 (running Android 4.3), and although I plan to root my new S7E in the future, I think I will run stock for awhile. Although I did no rom installs on the S4, (had safestrap & a small rom installed in one of the partitions, but rarely used it), I will miss TiBu for a while, Tasker advanced stuff, root options in the AutoApps suite.
I also understand removing bloatware is a little easier these days for unrooted phones.
QUESTION:
Is there any recommendation that I should do/save/copy/settings to this phone before I continue?
After reading the MM & N threads on rooting (great work) I believe I can root in the future using Odin, ADB, etc.
Actually, as I read this, I'm thinking, "This is a stupid question, the phone is unrooted, I can't provide anything useful to the group!"
But, any advice would be appreciated.

You can try using smartswitch on your phone. Go to to the Samsung apps store and download smart switch. I think that will help you transfer stuff to your new device.
If you are wanting to backup your s7 you need to download smartswitch on your computer and do a backup.
it will save settings, apps, and other things for you.
If you are wanting to restore information onto your phone when you first set it up it should have mentioned something about a transfer where you would've touch the two phones together using NFC and they would transfer settings and other info.

I did install the smartswitch on the PC, and it backed up both the S4 & S7 pretty well. It would not backup my sms though (perhaps because the file is huge, goes back to 2010)
As for transferring settings, the NFC transfer sounded interesting, but I chose to redo the apps manually. I really wanted to keep only my sms, mms, & call log, so I used MyBackup Pro (since I couldn't use TiBu) which worked splendidly.
Using 4g only (wifi not yet enabled), I re-installed many of the apps individually, & set them up from scratch. Then I started learning the ins & outs of Android 6. This is SO different from the 4.3 I am used to!
Once I was comfortable, I connected to my home wifi network. Sure enough, within 15 minutes, the phone was prompting me to download & update to Android 7.0
To this point, the phone is running very smoothly, and the battery life is pretty good. This is my first android phone where the battery is not user replaceable. I also miss the IR blaster on the Galaxy S4. I saw no reports of it being added to the new S8 (which is why I chose the older, less expensive S7E)
I read your continuing guide on rooting, and I'm sure I'll take the plunge (again)

I recently discovered that my S5 was only running KitKat despite Marshmallow having been released for it. I checked for OTA updates and it found nothing, so I decided to flash a custom 6.0 ROM onto it (and for some reason I ended up deciding not to make a backup of the phone beforehand, the ultimate mistake).
The problem became that it didn't recognize Tracfone for my service provider and wouldn't connect to the mobile network. I then downgraded it to a 5.0 ROM, and it no longer even recognized the SIM card, saying there was none.
So I tried to flash the original stock ROM a few times, but every time either got errors from ODIN, the phone itself, or the TWRP bootloader.
Long story short, I seem to have screwed up multiple times trying to install a ROM to get around KitKat and now my phone appears to be softbricked. I can get into the TWRP menu and the "download" mode, but when trying to start the phone, it sits on the "Samsung Galaxy S5" screen with the "Set Warrenty Bit : kernel" text at the top left.
I'm just wondering if there's a way to fix it at this point, or if I've completely trashed the phone.
If anybody has suggestions or experience with this, all help is welcome!

Are you sure you have the stock firmware for the 902l and not the 903vl? The reason you didn't get the update for 6.0 is you have the 902l model. If you had the 903vl model you'd have 6.0. Straight talk never released it for the 902l model. No idea why being both models are very similar. Im not sure but if you make it back to stock on kitkat. I think you can use safestrap from the Verizon s5 to use some custom roms that run kitkat. If your bootloader is in fact unlocked and you can install a custom recovery other then safestrap. I believe you can install pretty much anything but I'm pretty sure straight talk ships the phones with the Toshiba chip so the bootloader isn't unlockable

I have a Samsung SM-A515x LDU phone, its legally obtained with the right permissions, I also understand it is a 6.X inch tablet as it has no imei or cellular capabilities, I'm looking to do this for the sole purpose of getting updates and getting recent security updates also.
Phone is "clean" I have removed the retail mode lock so phone is fully usable, not rooted and not installed a customer recovery yet.
I live in the UK and spec apps show the phone has having the exynos chip, I'm making the assumption that its likely to be an SM-A515F model (the version it would of been shipped with was a515fxxu1askj/a515foxaskj) But, before i flash all this info through odin, How do I go about making a full backup of the device incase I need to do a rollback, I read about NAND backups but will this truely save me if it gets soft bricked into a boot loop?

Yeah I probably would not waste too much time on this device, and no you cannot flash unlocked firmware onto an X variant. The only thing you can do is try to get the demo mode password, but even than you still wont receive any software updates as these "X" variants run on their own update channel.
